All Of A Sudden It Was Over

I Had To Get Out Of This Dark Place

You won’t believe this. Last Sunday afternoon I nosedived into a dark and gloomy state of depression. For an hour, I rolled and wallowed around in this dark “mental” funk. I wanted to talk to someone, so I picked up the phone and called a good friend. After rushing through the social courtesies, I warned “Today is your lucky day. I don’t usually do this, but I’ve got to vent.” She endured my venting for a blink-of-the-eye moment. (I didn’t expect much more.) Then, she took a courageous stab or two at lifting my spirits. She didn’t.

And It Didn’t Take Long

I hung up and hurriedly crawled back to that dark place. Reader, I don’t frequent this place. My visits are few and years between. While sitting in my favorite chair, staring at the wall, that line from the blog I posted on August 19 – Don’t Try To Still Your Mind whispered to me: “This is not Mind. It is not me.” I realized that the mind thinking these thoughts and feeling this way is not Mind (God). Therefore it is no part of me. It was like someone snatched a black towel from over my eyes. All was Light and laughter, and I never went back to that dark place.

Reader – dark, depressing, negative thoughts are not Mind. They are not you. “You are the Light of the world.”

The Great Escape (Part 2)

quote-meditation-is-the-dissolution-of-thoughts-in-eternal-awareness-or-pure-consciousness-without-voltaire-191179

All You Need To Know About The Human Mind

A reader asked this question: “Is it ever really possible to stop thinking?” The answer is yes … and no. By way of thinking, the so-called human mind is hunting for a “Formula for Living” – a formula for safety, security, happiness and success. Because it can never find this formula, the human mind never stops thinking. Sometimes it thinks fear thoughts. Sometimes worry thoughts. Sometimes it thinks, “I can’t,” and “I will never” thoughts. Like red pepper flakes on a slice of pepperoni pizza, there are smidgens and sprinkles of “good” thoughts.

The human mind bases all of its busy-body thinking on the notion that time and space separates everything and everyone. This, of course, is a lie. There is only ONE INSEPARABLE, INDIVISIBLE PRESENCE – GOD. The formula that the so-called human mind is searching for rests in the awareness of ONENESS. Since the human mind starts with twoness, it can never find the formula that it seeks. So, it keeps thinking, and thinking, and thinking.

Knowing Without Thinking

Reader, don’t let all that I’ve written disturb you. Fortunately, the human mind and all the thoughts it thinks are not real. The entire kit and caboodle doesn’t exist. Stop trying to stop thinking. Take a slow, deep breath and relax in the comforting message that follows.

There is a Mind, and this Mind is All. This Mind, or Awareness, is YOU. It’s completely impersonal and indivisible. This Mind is activity, and the activity that it is cannot be stopped. If it could, the entire universe would cease to exist.

THIS MIND, THAT IS YOU, DOES NOT THINK. It has never thought one single thought. And yet this Mind is always aware. It is all knowledge. What does this Mind know? It knows Itself to be All. This is the full extent of Mind’s knowing.

Reader, can you see that this all-knowing Mind (that is All) has no need to search for Life’s Formula? It has no need to think fear thoughts, worry thoughts, lack thoughts, and all the other thoughts based on the fiction of a presence and power other than Itself? This Mind that I am writing about is YOU – the one and only YOU.

Your Mind In Active Stillness

Once you realize that there is only one Mind, and that this Mind is All, you will first notice a change in the quality of the thoughts you “think”. Mind surges and soars with spontaneous happy, joy-filled thoughts. Worry-wart thoughts are far and few between. Confident “I can” thoughts replace “I can’t” thoughts. “I am able” thoughts overthrow the “But I don’t know how” thoughts. When you look at your neighbor, your spouse, your co-worker, you think “This one that I see is the living Truth.” You didn’t try to think the thought because you ought to. The idea just popped up like a jack-in-the-box.

Reader, perhaps you have already had this experience. During your morning contemplation, you sit down to contemplate a spiritual Truth. Maybe it’s “I and the Father are one,” or “God is love.” At first it seems you are directing and controlling the contemplation. You are conducting the movement of ideas. Then … the contemplation takes on a life of its own. You are no longer conducting the symphony of ideas that flood Consciousness. Instead of thinking, there is the activity of knowing. Just for a moment, it seems as though you are going along for this joyous ride. Then … you experience yourself BEING the contemplation. All the while, you experience an indescribable peace. There is a flood tide of ideas, but no thinking. What’s happening here?

Have you ever seen a bicycle wheel spin so fast that it seems the spokes are not moving at all? There is activity, but it appears as stillness. In contemplations as described above, Mind – your Mind – is whizzing with (as) activity. Yet, it seems still as a frozen lake. This seeming stillness is experienced as a calm, effortless knowing. This is Mind at its all-knowing best – without thinking.

Is this experience confined to a prayer nook? No! Believe me. While you are out and about your day, you can and will have moments of sudden, spontaneous, all-absorbing contemplation. Because Mind is awareness, you will be aware of any and every thing that you need to be aware of to carry on safely. And, the indescribable bliss will seem to transport you to another world. You are active, moving, carrying on your affairs without thinking. The moment may be fleeting as a few breaths, but that’s enough to let you know of greater things to come.

The short answer to the reader’s question is: No, it is not possible to stop the human mind from thinking. Yes, it is possible to know the nothingness of the human mind and the somethingness of God Mind. And yes, it is possible to know without thinking and to experience this as a living fact.

Why You Do The Things You Do (Spiritually)

Excerpt from Sounds Of The Trumpet

Reader, have every confidence that your reason for seeking Truth is because you are already Truth. Your attraction to things of the Spirit is because you are already Spirit. It is because you are already the Truth that you respond so warmly and affectionately to the Absolute. It is because you are already the Truth that you have moments of silence where you are free from even the appearance of a mythical world of evil, loss, and lack.

It is only because you are already whole that you have ever bothered to pray for a healing. It is because the kingdom has already been given you that you have ever prayed for any good thing. Cease reversing the Truth, thinking that you pray because you lack. IT IS BECAUSE GOD REALLY IS ALL, ALL CONSCIOUSNESS AND ALL MANIFESTATION, THAT GLORIOUS LIVING IS NOW INEVITABLE FOR YOU AND EVERY IDENTITY IN THIS VAST UNIVERSE.

The Great Escape — From Mortal Mind To God Mind

Great-Escape-e1363913918274

As you read this post, accept the FACT that the Mind that is reading it, the Mind that wrote it, and the Mind that is God are (is) the same Mind.

Every now and again someone calls and asks a question (or two) that is so arresting, the world seems to freeze for a few seconds. Such was the case when a woman called and asked these two questions:

  1. “How do you get out of the monkey-mind (mortal mind) into God Mind?”
  2. “Is it ever really possible to stop thinking?”

Reader, I’m sure you will agree with me that it’s best to devote an entire post to each question. So let’s dive right into the first question: “How do you get out of the monkey-mind (mortal mind) into God Mind?”

It would be easier for an elephant to tightrope over the Grand Canyon on a sewing thread than for anyone to get out of the mortal mind into God Mind. If you’ve tried this great escape, you know it ain’t easy.

To get out of the mortal mind, it first has to exist. Believing that the mortal mind exists when it doesn’t is the reason many have unsuccessfully struggled to make this great escape. God is All, and God is the only Mind (Awareness) that exists. Right now, reader, search yourself and be sure you haven’t merely dressed up the Christian devil in new clothes and called it mortal mind. GOD IS ALL!

You can’t get into God Mind. You can only realize this Mind to be your Mind and your Self. Below are a few suggestions to facilitate realization:

  • Forget all that metaphysical drivel about thoughts having power, and with that drop all that co-creation business. Only God is Power, and that Power sustains and maintains a Finished Kingdom right where you are.
  • Accept and acknowledge that there is much more to Life (and to you) than the so-called intellect is or can be aware of.
  • Make it your intention to know what this more is.

Don’t Try To Still Your Mind

Silent, listening prayer is the golden gateway to Revelation. Yet too many people intent on passing through this gateway are straining and struggling with all their might and main to do the impossible. They are trying to still their minds. If this is you, STOP! Mind (your Mind) is meant to be active. It is Omni-action itself. Mind is all the activity of the universe. It will always be active. Let it be!

Reader, do not confuse Mind with the brain and its busy-bee thoughts. Brain is nothing but a severely limited and distorted sense of Mind. Mistaking the Mind to be brain is like mistaking the moon to be a gumdrop.

Mind (God) is always busy in the act of Self-Perception. Its action is awareness. Mind’s action is the awareness of being All. Its action is awareness of being One Presence and One Power. Mind’s action is awareness of being Love and Perfection. Its action is awareness of being All in action. Reader, this is the Mind that you ARE (not have) right this moment.

“But,” you say, “Allen, it’s those to-do, forgot-to-do, and other pesky little thoughts that I want to get rid of when I’m praying. What do I do about them?”

Here are some suggestions:

  • First, make a decision to stop fighting those pesky thoughts. Let Mind be active in Self (God) Awareness.
  • Then, when those unwanted busy-bee thoughts buzz about, simply remind yourself that this hyperactive mind is only a distorted experience of the I AM actively knowing and being Itself.
  • As often as necessary tell yourself, “This is not Mind. It is not Me.” Soon, you will find that you are settling into an exhilarating experience of omni-active Silence and Revelation.

This Is The Only Sure Way!

Repetitive For A Reason

Have you noticed a pattern in these blog posts? In many, if not most, I suggest that you ask questions of your Self (God) and wait for the answers to be revealed. And, I always caution that you resist the itch to make up your own answers.

There is a reason for this suggestion: There’s a world of difference between Truth revealed and Truth merely heard, read or said. Truth revealed is like winning the big prize in a lottery drawing when you’re down to your last dollar. Truth merely read is as helpful as falling into a lion’s den wearing a meat jacket.

One Truth Revealed Worth The Wait In Gold

In a poem by the famous poet Nikki Giovanni, she writes, “One ounce of truth benefits like ripples in a pond.” It’s true. One Truth revealed is better than reading and studying libraries of Truth books. One Truth revealed touches every area of your life.

Your Only Spiritual Authority

With every suggestion to question and listen, I am intentionally turning your attention to the only valid authority – God Consciousness. Your Consciousness.

No More Problems – Ever!

happy

Can You Imagine This?

Can you imagine living the rest of your life without any problems? Okay, so you can imagine it, but do you believe it is possible for you to never have another problem for the rest of your life? This is not a rhetorical question. Please answer it. And, reader, know that I am not talking about merely being able to better cope with problems, but actually having no problems at all.

Too Comfortable With Problems

It seems that we’ve snuggled up too comfortably with the idea of having problems such that the thought of having no problems causes a brain freeze. You probably even know some people who need problems to work on as a reason to crawl out of bed in the morning.

Let’s not forget about that other group of people – the ones who think, “If I am really faithful to my spiritual practice, one day I’ll reach the point where I will never have problems to deal with.” Minus the time element (and other dualisms), there is some Truth to this idea.

Get This Right And The Rest Is Simple

Reader, answer these two questions: Who has problems? Does God have problems? The answer is obvious. Human beings, not God Being, have problems.

Humans, not God, have health problems. Humans, not God, have relationship problems. Humans have financial problems. (I’ve got to stop here, because I’m having a “problem” completing this list.)

Try this. If you seem to be in the cold, clamping grip of some problem, rather than praying with a focus on your suffering, ask your God Self, “Does God know anything about this problem?” Wait for an answer. Repeat if necessary! If you do this, you will never waste your prayer time seeking God to do something about a thing God knows nothing of. Let’s move on.

De-Humanize Yourself

If it is the human that seems to have these problems, then the solution to a life riddled with problems is to de-humanize yourself. This is a matter of revelation and realization where you realize that your Self (body included) includes no human element whatsoever. The process is simple.

Ask this one question of your God Self: “Who Am I?” Ask and listen. Repeat daily until the answer is revealed. There is one catch. You must be willing to suspend every human, mortal idea of yourself. Ideas such as:

  • race
  • gender
  • nationality
  • age (birthdays)
  • genetics
  • height, weight
  • etc.

Note, I said that you must be willing to surrender these ideas. With this one simple willingness, revelations concerning the Truth of your Identity are certain.

The paradox (as I’m sure you have already realized) is that you have never been human. Even in the thick of your seeming problems, you have never had a human experience. You have never had a problem. Only in the illusion has humanhood appeared to be. God Is All. All Is God.

This Is The Best Way To Live (Don’t You Agree?)

To win the victory over sickness and suffering is not the best proof of God’s Allness. To never be sick in the first place is better proof.

To triumph over financial lack is not the best proof of God’s Infinite Substance. To never experience a moment of lack is better proof.

To finally succeed after years of failure is not the best proof of God’s Completeness (Success). To never fail is better proof.

You Don’t Need Jams To Prove God’s Allness

Too many people seem to think that getting out of a thorny jam is a trophy-worthy demonstration of God’s Allness. I met a man who appears to court trouble just to prove his understanding of God’s Allness.

If you came out of a jam unscathed, that’s wonderful. But there is a better way – a higher way! Reader, lift your vision high – above trials, tribulations and troubles – to where God Is All. From this vantage point, can you see that the best demonstration of God’s Allness is to never be in trouble?

Living From Glory To Glory

Rather than triumphing over troubles, expect a life of moving from glory to glory. That’s the best proof of God’s Allness. After all, God is the only presence, power, activity, and evidence. And you already know that there is no trouble in God, and no God in trouble.

Have A Talk With Yourself

Don’t be afraid to tell yourself the Truth. In a quiet moment, speak courageously and confidently to yourself. Tell yourself, “I know that God Is All, and that All Is God. I don’t need to be miraculously pulled out of trouble’s steely clutches to know that God Is All. God does not need to be proved. Because God Is All, it is my right to live a trouble-free life.”

No Guilt Allowed

If you seem to be in trouble, don’t whip yourself with cords of guilt. The purpose of this writing is not to induce guilt, but rather

  • to consider the fact that you do not need trouble(s) in order to “prove” your understanding of God.
  • to consider that because God Is All, it is possible to live a trouble-free life.
  • to lift your vision higher than trouble-based praying.

Help Me Find This Other Mind

Searching But Not Finding

I apologize for being late posting this entry, but I’ve been busy searching for something. Just to verify a rumor, I’ve been searching high and low for this “other mind” that people keep talking about. I cannot find it.

But You Said There Is Only One

Many Absolutists heartily proclaim “O’ I know there is only one presence.” And then in a few more breaths, they speak about folk who don’t understand this Truth, and folk who are not quite ready for this Truth. They even talk of folk with a lesser consciousness. All this translates to two or more minds. Consider what follows.

The false belief that there are some folk walking around this “kingdom of heaven” not ready to hear the Absolute Truth implies that there is a Mind that is not the Absolute Truth — not God. Whenever I hear someone say, “Allen, some people are not ready for this Truth,” I think to myself that they need to sit down and examine exactly what they mean when they say, “God is the only Presence.” How do they define “only”?

What Does Only Mean To You?

When they say only, do they mean existing with no other, or do they mean existing with a few others? Webster’s dictionary defines only as “existing with no other,” and that’s what I mean when I say God is the only Presence.

Not only is everyone ready to hear this Truth, but everyone is already present as this Truth and is actually conscious of Being this Truth. If they were not, God Consciousness would not be the only Consciousness. God would not be the only presence.

If you think someone is not ready for the Absolute, be certain that you know there is only ONE and ONE ALONE, and that YOU ARE THIS ONE. Then, and only then, is it clear to see that everyone is this ONE, and only this ONE.

One Alone

Recently I’ve gotten very clear on the importance of being absolutely Absolute. If dualism is allowed to blossom in one arena of your awareness and experience, it seems to drop seeds in other areas. Of course, the seeming is never the reality, but sometimes the pain seems real. All this can be avoided, by recognizing and acknowledging just ONE and ONE ALONE.

The One Thing You Should Never Watch

Watch sunsets,
Watch sunrises,
Watch people,
Watch stars,
Watch clouds,
Watch the smile on a baby’s face.
Watch whatever you want.
But whatever you watch, don’t watch your thinking. Thoughts are not power.
GOD IS.
