Conscious Immunity

In a future post, might you teach regarding Psalm 91:7?

“A thousand shall fall at thy side
and ten thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come nigh thee.”

With all the news reporting wars, fires, job firings, deportations, other crazy stuff, how goes that Bible verse?

God Is Love

Before we explore the answer to this question, keep this fact in mind: God is Love and does not cause disease or destruction. Never entertain the idea that God is responsible for the disturbing sights and sounds you see and hear every day.

What Is The Promise?

Psalm 91, now believed to be authored by Moses, is one of the most recited and beloved psalms in the Holy Bible. After reading this post, I suggest you take an additional three minutes to read the entire psalm. It’s a beautiful and inspirational read. It is a promise of complete immunity from all danger, but the promise isn’t for everyone.

Some Biblical scholars disagree with me and claim that the psalm doesn’t promise immunity from all danger. Reader, I let you decide. When you read this verse, what do you think? “There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.” Again, the promise is for a select group of people mentioned in the first verse of the psalm: “He that dwells in the secret place of the most High….”

In spiritual terms, this means to dwell in the conscious awareness of God’s Allness. The key word is dwell. Occasional visits, when situations seem unbearable, offer no such immunity.

Who Are The Fallen Ones?

The questioner asks specifically about verse 7: “A thousand shall fall at thy side and ten thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come nigh thee.” It’s a loaded verse stirring up images of blood-soaked bodies dropping all around you — or perhaps of you gazing out of your home’s window, without a care, while jagged tongues of fire leap from the windows and roofs of every neighboring house. What does it all mean? Who and what are the thousands falling all around you? Why doesn’t it come near you?

Although you may dwell in the awareness that God’s Perfection is equally and everywhere present, you may still seem to see destruction all around you. You may still seem to see reports of wars, job firings, etc. However, you will (grab something to steady yourself) know that it is pure illusion – a distorted perception of Omnipresent Perfection. Dwelling in the awareness of God’s Allness, you are not alarmed by the thousands falling to your left and right. You know what they are – pure illusion.

These illusions can’t touch you any more than the monster in the movie can reach out and grab you by the neck. There is no monster. Yes, these sights and reports seem to be real, but you will know they are no more real than the train tracks converging in the distance.

Reader, I have one question to ask you: In a scary movie, is the humongous monster towering over the city any more real than the pint-sized monster hiding in the Mason jar? Of course not! Yet, for some reason, so-called Truth students seem to think that some graphic scenes shown in news reports are more real because of their unfettered violence and cruelty. Nothing is nothing.

The Main Point Is

Dwell, stay, remain in the Conscious Awareness of God’s Allness. Never leave. This is an imperative for your complete immunity from all danger.
