So Many Things To Pray About – Where Do I Start?

God Is All

The Things

Fix a thing. Repair a thing. Heal a thing. Add a thing. Get rid of a thing. With prayer, it always seems to be about a thing. But here’s the thing: As long as prayer is about things, you will always have a thing to pray about. And as long as you are praying about things, the conscious enjoyment of God’s Allness will never happen.

Did Your Early Days Of Prayer Look Like This?

Your personal history of prayer certainly doesn’t help. Like mine, it probably started with thing-based prayer. Grammy prayed to heal your broken leg. While you prayed for a new toy, dad prayed for a better job, and momma prayed for new furniture. In the church, the preacher prayed for healing of the sick and shut-in, and the “Women’s Guild” prayed to get the drug-dealing hoodlums out of the neighborhood.

The Most Effective Way To Pray

Reader, let’s get back on track! God is the only presence. God is the only power. And God is not a thing. In God’s Allness, where are the things? Nowhere! Okay, I can hear you thinking, “But Allen, there are forms, right?” Yes, there are. But these forms we have mistakenly called things are God and their nature is God.

Jesus teaching his disciples about prayer said, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God . . . and all these things will be added unto you.” Pray to know God. Pray to experience God. Pray to know your Identity is in God as God. This is “right” prayer. There are no things in this prayer, and yet this thing-less prayer piles the needed things (forms) right in your lap. Why is this?

Because the forms that you and I have called things, by various names, are God. Nothing is added, but these seemingly invisible forms are effortlessly revealed in all their spiritual glory.

Reader, are you worried trying to figure out how to pray about the many things that seem to be troubling you? Leave things completely out of your prayers and seek a clearer realization of the nature of God. In discovering God’s nature (via Revelation) you discover your nature, and in discovering your nature, you discover the nature of all those forms you thought were separated from you by time and space.

You can read more on the practicality of this kind of praying in Chapter 3 of God Is All.

Has The Devil Wormed Its Way Into Your Spiritual Practice?

Allen White God Is All

Just When I Thought I Was Done With The Devil

“Allen, I just had to get out of the Baptist church. The preacher talked more about the works of the devil than the power of God. Every Sunday I felt like Satan was sitting beside me.” Hoping to leave the devil behind, Sharon left the Baptist church. She explored other churches and opened herself to new ideas. One evening she attended a tape group where she heard the speaker talk about “finite sense” and “universal beliefs.” At one church, the reader mentioned something about “animal magnetism.”

Soon, Sharon prattled on about illusions, appearances, animal magnetism, “the seeming,” and at moments, when she wanted to sound really sophisticated, she spoke in low tones about the “veil of Maya.”

The “Aha” Moment

But one day Sharon thought,“Wait a minute here. Just when I thought I left the devil in the pew, here he is in the study group draped in new clothes with a host of new names: appearances, finite sense, mortal mind, etc. Sure, the name has changed, but it’s the same ol’ game – something going on other than God.”

It does no good to give a non-existent devil a new name if you’re dealing with the same culprit. Take away the pitchfork and red suit. Dress it up in white linen, and give it a new name; it’s still the same thing – A LIE.

Take Wing And Fly

Reader, answer this question honestly. When you left the traditional church to embrace a “higher spirituality,” didn’t you feel a little unsettled every time you heard or read the words illusion, appearance, and mortal mind? Didn’t you – at least once – say to yourself, “Ohhhhh boy, here we go again?”

Why did you feel this way? Because you knew and know that God Is All, and beside God there is nothing at all – nothing.

Fly on the wings of your innate knowing into the glorious experience of God’s Allness. There are no appearances to clip your wings. There are no illusions to alter your course. There are no mortal minds to lower your altitude. Fly on! God Is All!

What Is Intelligence?

God Is All Allen White

Here is an author I have not shared on this blog. His name is John Hargreaves and the excerpt I am sharing comes from his book They Shall Be All Taught Of God.

Because intelligence is the prime quality of Mind (God), it is intelligence, not belief, that constitutes man. It is I, Mind, that knows this. Man is intelligence, and this intelligence is universal, infinite, indivisible. There is nothing unintelligent — and nothing more or less intelligent — going on.

There is no personal, comparative intelligence, and there can be no question of instilling intelligence into a human mind, or of expecting from this so-called mind, which is ignorance, any form of intelligence.

You cannot put new wine into old bottles. Spiritual sense sees intelligence instead of ignorance. If intelligence is omniscient, then there is no unintelligent thought and no mind to think it. If intelligence is omnipotent, then no claim of unintelligence has any power. If intelligence is omnipresent, then it is so here and now, just where the contrary claim may seem to be.

Because intelligence is infinite, it is one, and there are not intelligences…
