This Is Better Than A Good Memory

I-Forgot-to-Remember

They Couldn’t Believe He Did It

For over an hour we stood in an ever-growing line waiting for the concert hall to open. All around us we could hear people speaking in hushed tones. One woman behind us whispered, “You think he’ll show up? After all, he is ninety years old.” Someone else said, “I can’t believe he’s still touring. What if he cancels?”

Well he did show up. His fingers flew up and down the keyboard faster than the wings of a hummingbird. He played the audience as well as he played the piano. At moments we laughed; at times we fought to hold back tears. Sometimes we sat mesmerized by the dazzling display of virtuosity. And this so-called ninety-year-old man played these thousands of notes all from memory. All from memory.

Memory Is Highly Overrated

My mom says her memory isn’t what it used to be. Some of my friends tell me the same thing. So what! If it seems like you can’t remember things like you used to, count your blessings. Memory is highly overrated. Good memory or bad memory, what does it matter? They both are the activities of a mind that does not exist. Memory is the illusory function of an illusory mind.

Reader, the memory-mind is not your mind. It was never your mind. Maybe they labeled your mind as a slow-learning mind, or some other mental disorder. So what, it was never your mind. Furthermore, you are not at the mercy of a dysfunctional mind. Enough about the illusion. From here on, it’s all good news.

The Mind That You Are Knows Everything, But Remembers Nothing

There is but One Mind, and God is that Mind. God does not have this Mind. God is this Mind. Naturally, Mind is infinite and all-knowing. This all-knowing, infinite Mind is the Mind that You Are. You don’t have this Mind. The one and only Mind is the substance of the I Am that You Are.

My greatest discovery about the Mind you and I are, is that it does not remember a thing – nothing. Therefore, this Mind is never in danger of forgetting a thing. RATHER THAN REMEMBERING AND FORGETTING, MIND REMAINS IN A CONSTANT STATE OF KNOWING.

It Is Practical

Reader, enjoy the practical implications of what you just read. Stop trying to remember a name or a fact. Instead, as the one all-knowing Mind, know that you know it, and you will find this to be true. Suddenly, the name, or the fact, will come forth in your awareness.

The same goes for your keys and your wallet. Stop rummaging through drawers and ransacking the den trying to find them. Instead “be still and know” that as the One, All-Knowing Mind, you know the location of everything you need at the present moment.

As for the concert pianist, maybe he didn’t memorize a thousand notes. More likely he just knew them.

Be Still and Know

bestill

What words of greater comfort, sweeter compassion or tenderer love and understanding could ever be whispered forth into expression? “Be still and Know.”

Beloved, let this day be to you a new day, a moment in your experience in which, if you are believing in fear and doubt, loss and separation, suddenly there opens to you a marvelous transparency of vision, when you hear the Voice of your own Soul; when you see the wonder of Life divine.

What woe cold not be hushed, what pain could not be appeased, what lack could not be satisfied by the loving acceptance of these inspiring words – “Be still and know.” Into the daily life of us all comes the need that mental storms, or turmoil, should be silenced; that the waves of fear, or the darkness of despondency be rebuked; that the mighty vision of Insight should be our refuge or our release.

Therefore the joy of certain Victory is yours. Sense is delivered from its nightmare of bondage, and its deliverer is the Truth. If before you rolls the Red Sea, if around you thunders the tempest and the uproar of dashing waves, even then be still and know that You are “The Way,” – You are the uncovered, dry land over which You shall walk to victory, to triumph and glory. Though the waters may look turbulent, angry and threatening, yet beyond, before your vision lies the Promised Land. The Power which separates these waters into a bank on either hand, so that we walk unharmed on solid, dry foundation, is that same Presence in you which bids “Be still and know.”

Know The Truth About Your Body

Straight-To-The-Heart

There’s Only One Correct Answer

11 + 52 = ?

Reader, you know the answer to this equation, and you know there is only one correct answer. Children, still a little shaky in math, could write ten different answers, but there is only one correct answer to this equation.

Just like the above equation, there is only one correct answer regarding the nature of the Body, and yet you can flip through several spiritual books that mention the Body and find that they each say something different about the nature of the Body. Even among authors of the Absolute, you will find contradictory opinions about the Body.

Who’s Right? Who’s Wrong?

Some authors say the Body is an idea in Mind devoid of Life, Substance and Intelligence. Other authors say the Body is God embodied, implying that the Body is Life, Substance and Intelligence embodied. Some authors take a left turn down a very dark path and claim the Body does not exist at all. Each camp has its own “followers.” And still, THERE IS ONLY ONE CORRECT ANSWER CONCERNING THE NATURE OF THE BODY – YOUR BODY. You will not be satisfied until you find that answer, and when the true nature of your Body is revealed, you will be astonished by what you discover.

A Thrilling Adventure / An Astonishing Discovery

Are you ready and willing to make this astonishing discovery? Rather than turn to so called “outer” sources, take a thrilling adventure by turning to your Self. Trust me, your Self will not fail you. Years ago a man shared this story with me.

“Allen, for years I did not think that turning within for answers would work for me. Always I reached for a book and randomly flipped through the pages hoping to land on a line or two that I could convince myself to be a revelation. But, these contrived answers didn’t satisfy.

“One day, I made a decision. I said, ‘Thomas, from this day on, you are going to trust your Consciousness to reveal the answers to your questions.’ It wasn’t easy, but I stood firm. I went through a frustrating phase of going within and coming out with nothing. Just when I was about to give up, my Consciousness kicked in gear and answers started coming forth. Since, then I have trusted my Consciousness to reveal any needed Truth. The answers are not instantaneous, but they are satisfying.”

Know That You Know What You Know

I hope the story above gives you confidence to trust “your” Consciousness to reveal the true nature of your Body.

Reader, I have a few questions for you: Is the Body an idea in Mind, or is it Mind Itself? How do you know? Was the answer revealed, or was it merely read in a book? Consciousness knows and will reveal the answer so that you will know that you know what you already know (inherently). Trust it!
