Should You Watch What You Eat?

Is watching what you eat duality? Would that (watching what you eat) be taking the body to be a body of matter, which it is not?

The Many Diets

Years ago, we touched on the answer to this question, but let’s look at it again with fresh eyes.

Right now there are a gazillion diets promising optimal health. The most popular are the Mediterranean and Paleo diets. Plus there are many others. There’s the DASH diet for optimal heart health and the MIND diet for optimal brain function. Peeking over the horizon of popularity is the Breatharian diet. With this diet, you don’t have to watch what you eat. You don’t eat – or drink.

All of these diets have one thing in common: they omit foods allowed on the other diets. For this one reason alone, you have to watch what you eat. Yet this kind of “watching” is not what the questioner is asking about.

In all of the aforementioned diets, some foods are believed to be healthy for the body while others are deemed to be unhealthy. Those watching what they eat are making sure they eat health-inducing foods. Watch them at the buffet table as they skirt around the deep-fried foods and reach for the steamed broccoli florets. They pass over the cupcakes with mile-high frosting and fill their bowls with strawberry quarters drizzled with a touch of honey. Is this duality?

Health Is God

If you believe that Health is separate from you and can be attained and maintained by the foods you eat, how many concerns do you have? I counted three (you, health and food). It’s more than a duality: it’s a triality (made up word). In matters of the Spirit, which is all that matters, more than one is too many.

Here’s the Absolute Truth. God is All; God is Health; All is Health. As one writer put it, “Health is the one Power and Presence in the universe.” You can’t get out of Health and you can’t get into Health. Health is your very being – no matter what you eat.

Considering This, What Foods Are Bad Foods?

Nutritional therapy argues against this and states that some foods are good for you and others not so good. Drinking a green smoothie every morning is better than drinking a Dr. Pepper. But is this true? To answer this question, I turn your attention to the words of Christ Jesus: “And these signs shall follow them that believe: In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them.”

In these words (Mark 16:17-18), Christ Jesus taught an important spiritual lesson: There is only one Substance – God. The so-called deadly thing would have no effect because its Substance is God. God is the Substance of all Form. Everything you eat is constituted of the Substance that is the Presence of God.

When all food is understood to be God-Substance, there will be no more ill effects from eating food. One particular statement of Truth was hard for me to grasp until Revelation clarified it. It sounded wonderful, and I understood it to be the key to so-called instantaneous demonstration, but I just couldn’t grasp the concept. Here it is: All of God is equally present at every point of Existence at the same time.

Reviving Grace

This being true and understood, no food is more beneficial than another. Reader, consider what you have just read in the three preceding paragraphs and answer for yourself if some foods are better for you than others.

Rather than follow the advice to watch what you eat, it’s better to be mindful when you eat. Do you remember when your parents made you say grace before you ate? Do you also remember when you wanted to skip grace and dig into those sauce-smothered meatballs? For many people saying grace, if it’s said at all, is a mindless prelude to filling the belly. Let’s revive and revise the “prayer” before each meal.

Before you put the first forkful in your mouth, take a moment to be mindful that God is the Substance of the food you are about to eat. Be mindful that the Substance of your food is the very same Substance of your Body. By doing so, you eliminate the false sense of materiality associated with the Body and eating. And if you are about to eat a vanilla-glazed donut topped with sprinkles, remember you cannot get into or out of Health. Health is your Being.

The Truth About Healthy Eating?

Healthy-food-including-lean-meats-low-fat-milk-whole-grains-and-vegetables

  • Broccoli
  • Blackberries
  • Brussels Sprouts
  • Garlic
  • Tomatoes
  • Salmon
  • Whole Wheat Bread

plus 93 others in the list of Time Magazine’s 100 Healthiest Foods. I rifled through the pages to see if a McDonald’s Fish Fillet was on the list. It wasn’t. These 100 foods are supposed to keep your body brimming with health and vitality.

I Have Some Questions For You

There are a lot of questions in this post, so let’s get to them. Do some foods promote good health? How did you answer that one? Here’s another question. If you believe that God is the only Presence, can you believe that some foods promote health? Before you commit to an answer, here’s one more question. Would a carrot, or a handful of blackberries make a changeless God more Godly? I have every confidence that you immediately answered, “Allen, of course not. There is no thing that affects God in any way.”

What about your Body? Does food affect it in any way? Can food enhance your Body’s health? Don’t try to be “nutritionally correct.” Answer from your heart.

You read this blog because you agree that God is the only Presence, and because you do, you might find these next questions too easy. What is “your” Body made of? What is the Substance of your Body? Yes, God is the Substance of your Body. A micro-lesson in holiday baking is in order here.

God Is The Dough Of The Universe

Did anyone in your home make cut-out holiday cookies during the Christmas season? Reindeer, bell, tree and Santa-shaped butter cookies, all with a hint of vanilla? The Santa cookie tasted just like the tree cookie. That’s no surprise, since they were all made from the same dough.

God is the dough of the universe. Everything is made from the Presence of God. As God is Light, Life, Spirit, Perfection, and Wholeness (Health), everything in existence is made of these qualities. Your Body is constituted of Light, Life, Spirit, Perfection, and Wholeness (Health). Yes, your Body is constituted of Health. So, how can some extra thing give your Body what it already is?

Everything is made of God – your Body and the food you eat. Constituted of the same “dough,” one cannot be beneficial or harmful to the other (especially when you consider that they are one indivisible presence). Read that last sentence again. It is the death knell to the illusion of food allergies. How can the Body be allergic to that which is constituted of the same Substance?

After an evening of Old Bay spiced steamed crabs and other seafood, Roland woke up one morning, swollen from face to foot. Alarmed, he went to his family doctor and discovered he was allergic to seafood, and one more seafood orgy could be fatal. “No way am I giving up crabs,” thought Roland. And, he didn’t.

Roland went on an inner quest to get spiritual answers. That’s when he discovered that his Body and seafood were comprised of the same Substance – God. That discovery ended his allergic reaction.

Do We Have To Eat At All?

By now you have to be asking if it is necessary to eat at all. Here’s the short answer. To the degree that you and I have a material sense of the Body, food will seem to be important to the Body. As we discover and embrace the God-nature of our Body, food will be less important. With this in mind, I offer one dietary suggestion: Make it your business to discover the Truth concerning your Body. You cannot read your way into this discovery. It must be Revelation.

Once you discover, to any degree, the God-nature of your Body, watch what happens. Your eating habits will effortlessly change. When and how much you eat will make a surprising change. Yes, what you eat will change too, but not for health reasons. After all, your Body is constituted of Health.

Here’s One Way I Put This Into Practice

Here’s one way I live this post. For the longest time I never said grace. It wreaked of dualism. Instead of a “grace” thanking a distant God for food, I now take a moment to acknowledge that the Substance of the food I’m about to eat is the One Substance. It is the same Substance that constitutes my Body.

All You Need To Know About Your World

ww

Look Around You — Everything Is Wonderful

Wherever you are reading this post, stop and look around you. Soak in the environment. If you can step outside, do so. Look around you. Reader, this world that you are looking at is the world where God is All. This is the world where there is only One Presence, One Power, and One Identity.

Things Are Not What They Seem To Be

Many people say, “Allen I know God is the only presence and power.” Yet, let them keep talking and the conversation steers toward clashes in the home, clashes on the job, body aches, healthcare, bullies, how bad things have gotten, etc. Although they say God is the only Presence, their words reveal that they live in another world where God is not all.

Yes, reader, I know it appears (to some) that this is a material world, but it is not. I know it looks like material laws hold sway, but they do not.

God Is Both The Seer And The Seen

This world you are moving, living and breathing in is God being All. Truth-be-told, this is the world where God is both the seer and the seen. When I think about this so-called world, I often refer to it as a ready-to-take-out-the-oven, fully-baked world. It’s finished, complete, perfect and lacking nothing. This “world” is Perfection Itself – What a Wonderful World.

Reader, as soon as you are able, take a moment to contemplate what is presented in this post. Listen for further Revelation. The Revelations that come forth will be many and wonderful.

Lesson On Eternal Life From A Child

Out Of The Mouths Of Babes – A Request For Eternal Life

In a not-too-recent “Dear Amy” column, a five-year old asked her grandmother if she was going to get real old. The grandmother told the young girl, “We all get old … that’s why we have birthdays.” The little girl broke down crying saying to her grandmother, “I don’t want you to die. Please promise me you will have no more birthdays.”

This little girl wanted her granny to live forever. I believe we all have that wish for our loved ones (and ourselves). This little girl probably had no idea of the spiritual significance of her request. She probably didn’t realize that birthdays are handcuffed to deathdays.

Away With Birthdays And Deathdays

Get rid of birthdays and away go the deathdays. Get rid of birthdays and deathdays, and what are you left with? ETERNAL LIFE – real LIFE. You’re left with God. This is the secret to living forever – not as aging flesh, but as ageless Spirit.

Reader, you inherently know that God is Life, and you know that this Life is your Life right this very moment. Inherently, you know that this Life is birthless and deathless.

The Resurrection – A Lesson On Eternal Life

Easter, the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection, is on the horizon. Christ Jesus’ resurrection was possible for one reason only: His realization of the birthless, therefore deathless, nature of the Life that comprised His Body. Read His words, “Before Abraham was, I AM.”

Reader, answer these two questions:

  • Do you think that your Body is made of a different Substance than the Body of Christ Jesus?
  • Is there more than one Substance?

Here are the back-of-the-book answers to these questions:

  • Your Body is constituted of the exact same Substance as the Body of Christ.
  • There is only one Substance: “For of him, to him, and through him are all things …”

Because Christ knew the eternal nature of His Body, He did not resist the cross. Life has no beginning and no ending. When the full realization of the eternal nature of your Body is realized, you will know that its Life cannot be crossed out by any seeming threat.

The Practical Application

If it appears that your Body, or the Body of a loved one, is in the terrifying grips of some life-threatening disease, don’t believe it. If it appears as though your Body is sliding toward the grave or the urn, put the brakes on NOW.

First, accept that Life – all Life (even that of your Body) – is birthless, deathless, timeless and ageless. This is easier when you remind yourself that Life and God are one and the same.

Next, soak your Body in a warm contemplation of its Eternal nature. Bring every aspect of your Body into this contemplation: hair, teeth, bones, organs, etc. After all, those are just material names for spiritual forms.

Take this soak every day for a week or two. Believe me, there’s nothing like a good soak in Eternal Life.

A Special Reader Writes (Insight From Our Editor On Food and Diet)

handwritten letter

Occasionally, Absolutely Yours will feature an “Our Readers Write” post. A reader will share a story of healing or some noteworthy insight. I don’t play favorites, but this post comes from a special reader, Brenda Becker. Brenda is the copy-editor for Absolutely Yours. I can’t blog without her. Her suggestion reveals tremendous insight about food, diet, health, and Substance.

Allen:

The topic of the new year is often about diet/nutrition – that kind of responsibility. And the pressure on people in this country is to try for balance or focus on portions of protein, fats, carbs, etc., usually for health/added health or beauty/added beauty.

So many of us intend to “be good”, “be good at”, or “be fully intelligent” regarding our meals 3 times a day. Thus, it is a hot-topic for many during these first 30 days of January.

I was contemplating that the body and the vitamin pill contain exactly the same substance. So, I was asking myself, why do we need to replenish the former with the latter? Is there a lack or diminishment over a certain number of days that needs to be replenished or shifted from one to the other within the One? Does the All need replenishment? And if so, how would adding the One to the One get the job done?

There is so much pressure to fuel or re-fuel the body, and laced with that is the social responsibility to “replenish” or “work-on” our friendships at the same time by accepting invitations over brunch or at the coffee shop, planning holiday meals to delight, or the social opposite of “comfort” food in isolation.

We are always concerned with this replenishing factor as if the water off the coast of San Francisco need supply, somehow, the water off the coast of Seattle. Yet, the one substance doesn’t deplete or diminish, nor does it burn up or fade its vitality.

Might you do a blog on this “replenishment” factor? It might be interesting to read your take on how unnecessary it truly is, or, maybe, how necessary it truly is? ??????????

Just an idea for discussion at this time of the year.

Thanks in advance for considering.

What To Do About This Material Sense Of Body

Thanks to Darcio (a blog family member from Brazil), I was inspired to dust off a book I haven’t read in ages by Arthur Corey. Below is an excerpt from his Christian Science Class Instruction

The claim is made that, although man may be spiritual and perfect in his true being, he has here another body – one that is material and imperfect. The thing that extinguishes an erroneous sense of body is the realization that he hasn’t got another body.

Realizing that this which appears to be a material body is exempt from the restrictions of finite belief, perfect body is manifested in exact ratio. The only material body you could have would be the belief that the body is material. You cannot dispose of a material sense of body as though it were a thing , but you must transcend it; and this ascension appears as a constantly improved bodily estate.

You cannot die out of a material body, you must live out of it.

Are You And Money On The Same Team?

Money Is Spirit Formed

The Money Seminar

This year, (I don’t know how it’s going to happen), I intend to get back on the road again presenting power-packed seminars on God’s Allness.

I have enjoyed every seminar I’ve ever presented, but my favorite by a longshot is “The Money Club Seminar.” It’s the entertainment that I love, and it starts long before I actually deliver the seminar. The entertainment is the response I get from callers to see if I’m really going to talk about money.

It’s the trembling, strident tone of the caller’s voice that betrays she is uncomfortable talking about God and money in the same sentence – I’m talking about ducking behind sofas from lightening bolts uncomfortable.

Spiritual Identities Spend Money Too

To spiritually-minded people, money is a vulgar five-letter word that should be spoken in hushed tones if used in the same sentence with the word God. But here is the problem. These same spiritually-minded folk need money to pay bills, buy food, clothe the body, send the kids to college, and be entertained. How do we resolve this dilemma? By understanding money.

The monumental misconception is that money is a material substance. Reader, if you are doing the best you can to live the spiritual Truth that you know, and you believe that money is material, that duality will make a mess of your financial affairs. Money will appear to be hard to get, hard to keep, and hard to let go of. All that’s necessary is that you realize money as material substance is a lie about its spiritual nature.

The Nature Of Money

There is but One Presence and One Substance – Spirit (God). Spirit is the Substance of all Form and the Form of all Substance. Money is included in this All. Money is a spiritual presence. Let’s rephrase that: Money is Spirit being present as that form called money.

Take some time to contemplate the paragraph above. Consider all its implications. It will do wonders for your financial affairs.

Abundance

Allen White Sounds Of The Trumpet

This excerpt is from Marie Watts’book You Are The Splendor. The Chapter is The Perfect Answer.

It may be that an appearance of lack seems to be present. This is not evil. Rather, it should be considered as merely the signal signifying the presence of infinite, omnipresent Supply. You will not approach this aspect of existence from the standpoint of the specific. Instead, you will immediately contemplate the universal fact which is omnipresent Supply.

Actually, incompleteness, or lack, would seem to prevail in any illusion of trouble, disorder, or inharmony. It might appear as a lack of heath, a lack of strength, a lack of joy or peace, or a lack of supply in the aspect called money. In any event, realization of the presence of that which appears to be absent is necessary if you are to experience the evidence of complete supply. Thus it is apparent why the word “completeness” is of such vital importance.

Completeness is a universal fact. Thus Supply is a universal fact. It is present everywhere, and it is present eternally. There are no vacuums in this universal fact, and there is no interruption of its Presence. It is indivisible. It is that Principle which is omnipresent and inseparable from the specific Identity, which is God identified as you. It is within your Consciousness because it is constituted of your Consciousness. If you will realize that Supply—in any aspect—is as omnipresent as is Love, you will perceive the true nature of Supply. If you will “keep your mind stayed” on the presence of Supply—God—you will surely be aware of the evidence of this Presence right here and now.

Human Nonsense

let there be light allen white

This excerpt is taken from LIGHT by Lillian DeWaters

Spirit is our only Self, I or ME — boundless, immeasurable, timeless, spaceless, incorporeal. There is no mortal, human or material being, mind, self or body. There is but “ME” — IAM the One who is Real and Present.

When this new Revelation is seen and accepted, there will be no more sickness, sorrow, disease, pain or death. As the belief and teaching that we are mortals, humans or mankind is done away with, there will be no misbelief, misconception, erring teaching or wrong thinking.

Seeing that the One Self, “I” or “ME” reigns alone, and that there can be no other identity — whether as mind, consciousness or body — each one should reject and discard the beliefs and teachings which identify oneself as man, humanity or mankind; for within this very identification lies the subjection to suffering, disease and limitation.

Our deliverance, therefore, is not from suffering, worry, fear or old age, but that one ceases to believe or accept that he is a mortal or human being, and that his body is material or physical.

It’s Never Too Late (Healing Testimony Part 2)

Most of you have read the first healing testimony of the Womacks. It was the foundation for my sermon, There Is No Incurable Disease. This is the second part of the story that emphasizes the fact that since disease is not a presence or power, it’s never too late to know what is true.

Allen,

There is another part to the story of my wife I would like to share with you. About 15 years ago she was diagnosed with COPD/emphysema. At that time she bought into the diagnosis completely. Of course her mother had COPD and her identical twin sister had COPD. She has commented several times if she only knew then what she knows today.

She knows all the COPD medicine ads on TV and Doctors continually reminding everyone that COPD is irreversible are just opinions. After her journey with the diagnosed cancer she has commented that it is time to be free of the COPD idea.

She knows and constantly affirms her Soul, Spirit, and Body are not different elements. They are one, and that One is God. She is perfect, whole, and complete.Last week she had chest X-rays and the Doctor compared those X-Rays to the ones taken in August. The Doctor told us what he saw. “Her lungs show a marked improvement from the August X-Ray. Her comment was – “they see what she already knows”.

We have realized – No matter if it’s a perceived condition or idea you have been carrying for a long period time, or something that is sprung on you in an emergency room, knowing “God is All” and “I Am the God that is All” reveals the Truth – We are perfect, whole and complete.

Thank you again for all you do and all you have done for Tracy and me.

From Love

Stephen M. Womack
