Someone Needed To Remind You Of This

Sunlight At the End Of A Dark Tunnel

I remember the first time I listened to a Nikki Giovanni recording. I remember the golden voices of the gospel choir that sang in the background as she read her poetry. One particular poem evoked the joy of seeing sunlight at the end of a dark tunnel. I played that poem over and over again. It wasn’t the entire poem that grabbed me; it was just the opening words. “One ounce of truth benefits like ripples in a pond.”

Picture it. A little boy throws a stone into the middle of a still pond. Water circles ripple from the center to the circumference of the pond. One stone, many circles. One ounce of Truth does benefit like ripples in a pond. One ounce of Truth. Not a quart, not a gallon, but just one ounce of Truth.

How Many Books Do You Have To Read To Handle The Situation?

The spiritual implication of this means that you don’t have to read an entire shelf of Truth books. Just one sentence from one book is enough to “benefit” every area of your life. Haven’t you sometimes felt that you didn’t know enough Truth to meet your need – to handle your emergency? Then, perhaps, you flipped through book after book hoping to find some magic Truth statement that would fix the situation. “One ounce of Truth benefits like ripples in a pond.” Any Truth statement from any book would have been enough!

Haven’t you sometimes felt that your present understanding of Truth wasn’t enough? Whatever Truth you do understand is enough to meet any need. If you really know one statement of Truth, rejoice. That one statement will carry you through the rest of your eternal life. Of course, you will contemplate that one statement, and you will listen in silence as it unpacks all of its mysteries and secrets. Out of that one statement will come a hundred and one Truths.

What Is Your Favorite Truth Statement?

Do you wonder how one Truth statement can benefit every area of your Life? Here’s how. Every statement of Truth is your Life. It is not a statement about your Life. It is your Life. One statement of Truth understood shows itself, in some way, to be the reality of your Life.

What is your favorite statement of Truth? I mean that one you default to when the going seems rough. Imagine that statement to be a nutshell, and inside that shell (statement) is every Truth that has ever been written or spoken. When you contemplate that statement and ask it to reveal its mysteries, you open the door for all Truth to flood your Consciousness. This is Revelation. Every statement revealed to you then shows itself to be the reality of your Life – every aspect of your Life.

Right this very moment you know enough Truth to handle any appearance of lack, limitation, disease, etc. Don’t believe otherwise.

Are These Your Questions Too?

handwritten letter

About seven weeks ago, Trevor, a reader of Absolutely Yours, sent me the perfect email – perfect because in one email he asks many questions that people have asked over the years. Because I wanted to thoroughly address the questions Trevor asked, without being too wordy, it has taken many weeks to respond to his communication. Below is Trevor’s email.

I do enjoy your blogs – Perhaps it is easy to write about Truth, but what you write about is it your experience or just pretty thoughts? Take your blog for instance “Escaping The Dream of Human Existence.”
Questions:

  • Do I have a mind that is aware of a material or human existence? You must believe in this mind otherwise you would not write blogs. You believe there is an audience that can be reached … you get my drift.
  • So many Truth writers there are, but, do they practice what they preach?
  • What is your purpose?

I know that we seem to be in a world of form but need not be of it where God sends His Teachers. Not that they are part of it but for a moment leave the Light and enter the darkness to show forth the Light.

Peace and Love,
Trevor

To make the answers to Trevor’s questions clear to you, I decided to approach them in sections that address most of Trevor’s questions.

Is what I write my experience, or just pretty thoughts?

In my early years as a minister, I made the decision not to preach anything that I have not experienced to some degree. When I write or teach about instantaneous healing, it’s because I have experienced it myself. When I write about taking no human action to find employment, it’s because that’s how I found employment. When I write about seeing the Body of Light, or hearing the Music of the Spheres, it’s because that’s what I saw and heard.

Most of the Truth writers I know are writing from their experiences. More importantly, most of the Truth writers I know have withheld writing about experiences that totally defy what the so-called intellect deems possible. Pretty thoughts and well-crafted words without genuine experience are pointless.

Reader, this is the most important thing. Through prayer, continue to explore the Allness of God. Do not be deterred! The experiences that reveal themselves will never frighten you. They will astound you.

You must believe in this mind otherwise you would not write blogs. You must believe an audience can be reached.

A Practitioner who takes calls from those who seem to be dealing with tumors, growths, and other bodily troubles does not respond to the caller because she believes that these troubles exist and can be healed. She doesn’t even acknowledge the reality of an identity or body that could possibly experience these troubles.

Similarly, I don’t write blogs because I believe in a human mind that can be helped, but because I know (despite convincing suggestions otherwise) that there is only One Mind.

Trevor, I write Truth because, as Truth is All, what else is there to write? I speak Truth because, as Truth is All, what else is there to speak?

I could write long discourses about the circus-like machinations of the American political scene, but it would be a lie. I could write about the health benefits of tea made from the carcasses of dung beetles, but that too would be a lie. Writing about anything other than Truth is wasted paper, ink and pixels.

As far as that audience to reach. I wish I believed there was one; then I would actively market this blog. Years ago I wrote a post (don’t know if it transferred to Absolutely Yours) for performers – how they can be more effective performers. It was based on my years and “struggles” performing as a classical pianist.

In a nutshell: Know that you and the so-called audience IS ONE – not two. That’s the mindset that I write these posts. It’s the only possible way.

I always open my lectures with these words. “Do not look up to the speaker. I, the speaker, and you, the listener, IS ONE MIND. You are both the speaker and the listener. Even when you read the words of Christ Jesus, know that they are the words of ‘your’ Mind.” This is true of the books and posts that I write.

Do the Truth writers practice what they preach?

In short, yes. But let me open the curtain so that you can peek in on the process.

It all starts when the writer experiences some form of Illumination. This is when he has a momentary experience of existence as it IS – as spiritual Form and Substance. Usually this is a Light-filled experience. The body, plants, buildings, etc., are literally seen as spiritual Form. Words cannot adequately describe this experience.

Although the experience only lasts for seconds before the writer seems to slip back into a seeming material world, he knows that he will never again be deceived by the appearance of a material world.

The Truth writer writes from this point of reality. He lives from this point of reality.

In these high times, so-called miracles are experienced. The chains of time and space are broken, and a person may find himself being there without having to travel there.

Sometimes these experiences appear as “heavenly helpers,” when human help is not available. But, Trevor, you do get my drift. Great stuff happens.

What is your purpose?

Trevor, I’m glad you asked about my purpose, because at one time I was confused. Early on, long before I wrote God Is All, I wrote for a spiritual journal expressly for the purpose of enlightening the readers. (A lot of minds going on here, and mine was ego driven.)

Once I realized God to be the only Mind – the Mind that is both reader and writer, everything changed. As stated, I write (hopefully no more books) because only Truth is worth writing.

There was no intention of writing God Is All (the first book). One night I was just about pulled out of bed and dragged to the computer. I started writing, but it was more like I was taking dictation. I didn’t think the words. I just wrote the words that came. The book was finished in three (3) weeks.

The file sat in my computer for several years. I had completely forgotten about it. One day a friend was “playing” on the computer and found the file. He said, “Allen, what’s this? It’s really good. Did you write this? You should publish it.”

I did and God Is All has been reaching readers all over the world for over twenty years.

My purpose is BEING.

I know we live in a world of form.

Form is real. The way we seem to see Form is not real. That’s the simple Truth. Two people could be sitting in the same room – one seeing Form as it really is.

The person really seeing would see the same books, tables, chairs and bric-a-brac as the other person. The only difference, these Forms would not have density or solidity. Think of a rainbow. It has shape, but there is no solidity or density. This is how Form actually appears (or the best way words can describe it).

The thing to get is that FORM IS REAL. There is nothing material about FORM.

What To Do About This Material Sense Of Body

Thanks to Darcio (a blog family member from Brazil), I was inspired to dust off a book I haven’t read in ages by Arthur Corey. Below is an excerpt from his Christian Science Class Instruction

The claim is made that, although man may be spiritual and perfect in his true being, he has here another body – one that is material and imperfect. The thing that extinguishes an erroneous sense of body is the realization that he hasn’t got another body.

Realizing that this which appears to be a material body is exempt from the restrictions of finite belief, perfect body is manifested in exact ratio. The only material body you could have would be the belief that the body is material. You cannot dispose of a material sense of body as though it were a thing , but you must transcend it; and this ascension appears as a constantly improved bodily estate.

You cannot die out of a material body, you must live out of it.

Are You Waiting For A Miracle?

Taking Out The Trash

There are some words that no longer fit in our vocabulary. They need to be uprooted and permanently eliminated immediately. At the top of the list is the word tomorrow. And while you are uprooting it, don’t miss its siblings: soon, later, become, progress and improve. They usually hover very close to tomorrow.

Some Time(ly) Questions

Reader, I have a few questions to ask you. Do you think that with each prayer – each contemplation – things will get better? Do you believe that with longer or more frequent meditations you will become more enlightened? Do you think that in time your healing or long-awaited miracle will finally happen?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, I have just a few more questions to ask you. What about today? Isn’t God All today — now? Will God become more “All” tomorrow because you contemplated? Isn’t what you call “spiritual progress” actually a flat-out denial of the HERE and NOW of God and all that God is?

Now God Is All

Please allow me just two more questions. Do you think your Consciousness (which actually is God being Conscious) can become more enlightened than it is right now? Isn’t the belief in future enlightenment denying God to be the ONLY MIND and CONSCIOUSNESS?

All is God and God is All – now. There’s no becoming and progressing to this Allness. Reader, you are this Allness in living, loving action. Contemplate this and let Consciousness reveal even more of that which already IS.

The One Thing You Must Get (Let)

God Is All Allen White

“With all thy getting get understanding.”

These are the words of Solomon from the Book of Proverbs.

Because you are reading this blog, I know you rank spiritual understanding somewhere up there near breathing and eating — or at least in your top 5 priorities.

Spiritual Understanding Made Easy

Reader, don’t you feel there is something unnatural — something wrong — with this lifelong pursuit of spiritual understanding? Don’t you wish, if not think, that spiritual understanding should be as effortless as eating and breathing? If you feel this way, you are onto something BIG. Spiritual understanding should be easy and effortless, and it is. Keep reading.

  1. Spiritual understanding is not something to be sought like a university degree. It is not something to be found like dollars on a sidewalk. Spiritual understanding (the understanding of the Spirit of God) is God knowing Itself. This being so, spiritual understanding is the natural and normal state of the entire Universe. (That sentence is begging you for quiet contemplation.) Spiritual understanding is an eternal constant. Spiritual understanding is not what you get; it is what you are. You are God Knowing Itself in living, loving action.
  2. The value of silent prayer, where there is no aim to fix and repair, is that in a moment of stillness your natural understanding asserts itself. You know as God knows, because you consciously experience God knowing Itself as your Self. So in all matters of Spirit, relax. There is no understanding out there to get, but there is plenty to let. Paul said, “Let that same mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus…” It already is. Just let it announce Itself.

Put Your Heart Into This For Seven Days

For the next seven days, try contemplating these two statements:

  • Spiritual Understanding is Omnipresent.
  • I Am Spiritual Understanding.

Contemplating these two ideas will open up a floodgate of Revelation. Some spiritual facts will be startlingly clear to you and force you to reconsider this wonderful world. Try it and see!

You Are The Splendor (Top-Ten Books)

mw

This is the last book on our must-reads list. Marie Watts pours her heart into You Are The Splendor. Below are some excerpts:

thumb

Just as a mistake in mathematics calls your attention to the perfect mathematical fact, so it is that any appearance of evil serves to call your attention to some specific good, or God. God is Perfection; thus Perfection is a universal as well as a specific fact. Any appearance of imperfection serves to call your attention to the perfect Principle, which is Perfection. A mistake can seem to be troublesome, or evil, only so long as it is mistaken for a fact. Once your attention is focused upon the perfect fact, the mistake is canceled. It simply vanishes.

[ a poem]
I AM the only One, the All,
I AM the One ‘pon whom I call
when darkness doth appear,
or when I seem to fear
some presence, power, or blight
that could obscure the Light.
I AM the heaven and the earth;
I AM the Life that knows no birth,
no change, no age, no death.
I AM the One, the only MInd,
the One it seemed that I must find,
till I awoke to see
the I AM that is ME.

To recognize that the Christ Consciousness is your Consciousness means to accept the fact that you can see as Jesus saw; you can know as he knew; you can experience as he experienced; and you can be what he was, and is.

Pray Effectively For Others – DeWaters (Top-Ten)

wat

Years ago, a woman named Laura ( a long-time “student” of Lillian DeWaters) sent me nearly a hundred personal letters from Lillian DeWaters plus a hardback book that nearly fit in the palm of my hand. The book was Who Am I? Short and sweet best describes the book. One chapter, however, stands out as an oak among orchids: There Is No Other. Below is most of that chapter.

thumb

Who is Mary? Who is John? Who is James? Who is Martha? Verily, I Am all; all is I. Perfection is all! All is Perfection. The One Selfhood is all; all is the One Selfhood.

Is there any beside Me? Yea, I know not any. There is no other. There is none else.

Therefore, any ignorant Mary, any sick John, and sinful James, any limited Martha, is not present. Thou shalt consider none but Me. Thou shalt believe in no other. Thou shalt consider no other.

For instance, if one believes that he sees someone in ignorance, sickness, sin or limitation, who then needs the help–the “other” or oneself? Oneself. So far as anyone is concerned with a problem, he need consider only his own Consciousness.

If there is but one Selfhood, perfect and complete, let one ask himself, Who then is sick? Who then is ignorant? Who then is sinful or in limitation? And what must the answer be? No one in God’s perfect Selfhood.

How, then, shall one proceed? First–Take all attention from the form or entity named John or Mary. Next–enter into communication with your Self. Ask your-Self questions and your-Self will answer them. For instance–Just what should I be seeing? The Answer will be–Is there anything or anyone to see but the Real and the True? Then you may say, But what about John or Mary? And the Self will answer– I Am all there is of John. I Am all there is of Mary. There is none but Me.

Ever, one’s concern is only with himself–that he function solely as the One, and no other.

Three Essential Steps (Top-Ten Books)

mw

For a long time, I thought that Three Essential Steps by Marie Watts was the only  must-read book. Order it from Mystics Of The World and you will see why. Below are excerpts from this book.

thumb

It isn’t enough to say that “God is the Universe,” unless you know the Nature of God, unless you know the Substance that is God, unless you know the Activity that is God–unless you know what God is, as the Substance, Form, and Activity that are all that comprise this Universe. To make these statements without really knowing their spiritual significance, is very much the same as saying, “God is All. God is my Supply, God is my Substance and my Life,” and then, “How am I going to pay the rent next month?” or “Well, I guess I’ll have to take an aspirin for this headache.” It really is pointless to make these statements of Truth, unless we go all the way and perceive the spiritual significance of the Power in the Truth we are stating.

thumb

You are the Substance that is the Universe. You are the Mind, the Intelligence, that is intelligently functioning as the Activity of this Universe…You are going to discover that you are more than one with the Universe, the stars, the planets, the galaxies. You really ARE JUST WHAT GOD IS, AND GOD IS THE UNIVERSE.

thumb

Indeed, there is Something right here where this matter body appears to be. But this Something is not solid, dense, heavy matter, blocked off in time and space. Right here and now, there is the Body that is entirely comprised of Life, Consciousness, Mind, Intelligence, Principle, Love, Beauty. Yes, the Body is comprised of all that God is and of nothing else.

thumb

The Body is alive because It is Life. The Body is conscious because It is Consciousness. The Body is supremely Intelligent because It is Intelligence. The Body is perfect because It is Perfection. The Body is eternally consciously alive because It is eternal conscious Life. The Body is eternally perfect because It is eternal conscious Perfection. The activity (functions) of the Body are eternally consciously perfect because all activity is Intelligence in uninterrupted action.
