Open Vision — Seeing The Invisible

You Think You’ve Seen It All

Bored? Need something new to see and do? You could board a plane and fly to a new and exciting destination. Or, you could take a long drive through the back roads of a nearby state. There are so many things you could do to stave off boredom and see something new.

But there is another way to see exciting new things without even leaving your home. Try a staycation. No, not the typical one where you visit popular or overlooked sites and eateries in your area. Try a spiritual staycation. When done right, a spiritual staycation can be the most exciting thing you’ve ever done. And you can staycate wherever you are.

How many times have you walked through your home? You probably think you’ve seen everything there is to see, but the Truth is you’ve only seen a smidgen of what’s in your home. There’s so much more for you to see.

The Spiritual Staycation Illustrated

In the Holy Bible, there’s a story that illustrates the results of a spiritual staycation. The King of Aram sent his army to capture the prophet Elisha who was hiding in Dothan. Early one morning Elisha’s servant went out for a stretch, and when he looked up, he saw an army with horses and chariots surrounding the city. He cried out to Elisha, “Oh my master, what are we to do?”

Elisha didn’t pray for help. He simply prayed, “Lord, please open his eyes and let him see.” The servant’s eyes were opened to see that they were safe and protected.

With open eyes, Elisha’s servant saw a completely different scene. He stood in the same spot where he first saw danger, but one thing changed. He saw with open vision what he could not see with closed vision.

The Key Point For Seeing The Invisible

Here is the spiritual gist of the story: ALL OF GOD IS EQUALLY PRESENT AT EVERY “POINT” OF THE UNIVERSE.

Where are you right now? Right where you are ALL OF GOD IS PRESENT – not a portion, but all of God. How much are you seeing? Without leaving the spot where you are, there’s so much more to see.

When Elisha prayed for his servant’s eyes to be opened, he prayed for open vision. Open vision sees the seemingly invisible. Open vision sees the fullness of God’s Presence. What appears invisible to human vision is visible to open vision. Yes, open vision is Illumined Vision.

Do you want to experience open vision? The essential requirement is a humble admission that there is more to see than you are presently seeing. That’s all.

God is the Substance of your environment. And God is Infinite, so there’s always plenty to see.

While walking, driving, or just sitting, look around and ask your Self, “What more is there to see here?” By doing so, you’ve opened yourself to see more than seems to be present. Colors may seem more brilliant and intense. Everything may suddenly seem brighter – as if more suns have risen over the horizon.

The people in your environment may display more loving behavior. In a flash, the bodies and objects around you may glow as pure light. Undoubtedly, you will see a better (so-called) human experience. There’s no telling what open vision will reveal. Just know this: There is always more to see.

Open my eyes, that I may see glimpses of truth Thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key, that shall unclasp and set me free.
Silently now I wait for Thee, ready, my God, Thy will to see;
Open my eyes, illumine me, Spirit divine!

Are You Really Seeing That? Because It Doesn’t Exist

Please Answer These Questions

Reader, I have two questions to ask you:

  1. If you visit a loved one in the hospital and see his body apparently ravaged by disease, is that how God is seeing your loved one?
  2. If you see co-workers in a heated argument in the workplace, is God seeing that?

Message From An Enlightened Reader

An enlightened reader wrote to me recently, and I am sharing this portion of his email.

“My observation is that I cannot be doing what God is not doing. I cannot be what God is not. There are no parts of God that aren’t illumined. Therefore, I don’t need to do anything to attain anything that God is already, because God doesn’t do that. I have an issue with sitting and doing something in order to see some light because, for me, the way I am seeing things is how God is seeing things. I don’t have the power to see anything else that is not God.”

Don’t Claim You Are Seeing As God Sees If You Are Seeing These

First, you have to admit this reader is enlightened. What he writes is the Absolute Truth. No one can object to a single statement he writes. However, the italicized section warrants clarification. The writer says, as many readers feel, “the way I am seeing things is how God is seeing things.” But, if you are seeing:

  • fleshy bodies
  • old or young bodies
  • solid substances (forms)
  • collisions (accidents)
  • sick bodies
  • dying leaves or dead bodies
  • evil personalities
  • atrocities
  • lack,

you are not seeing as God sees. God is All, and God cannot see what God is not. God is none of the above, and anyone who seems to see these (self included) is not seeing at all – “having eyes they see not” (Mark 8:18).

Illumined Seeing Is God Seeing

It is true that I and many other authors suggest listening and hearing the still small voice of Consciousness. Inevitably, this results in seeing the Light that Is existence. What the Holy Bible says is true: “God is light.” This is why illumination results in seeing Existence as Light. Only illumined seeing is God seeing. God is nowhere to be found in a fleshy, material, human existence.

I admit that these illumined experiences do seem fleeting and short-lived. However, once you’ve seen existence as it IS, you are never deceived by the impostor of a material world of born and aging bodies, death, evil, lack and accidents. That first flash of illumination stays with you forever. It resets your Reality base.

Let’s Go Back To The Beginning

Let’s go back to those opening questions and look at the answers:

  1. God being All, and God being Perfection, God could not possibly see the disease that God is not being. God is not seeing a disease ravaged body or identity. What God Be’s is what God sees.
  2. God is All, and God is Love. God sees the activity of Love right there where discord seems to be present.
