Should You Watch What You Eat?

Is watching what you eat duality? Would that (watching what you eat) be taking the body to be a body of matter, which it is not?

The Many Diets

Years ago, we touched on the answer to this question, but let’s look at it again with fresh eyes.

Right now there are a gazillion diets promising optimal health. The most popular are the Mediterranean and Paleo diets. Plus there are many others. There’s the DASH diet for optimal heart health and the MIND diet for optimal brain function. Peeking over the horizon of popularity is the Breatharian diet. With this diet, you don’t have to watch what you eat. You don’t eat – or drink.

All of these diets have one thing in common: they omit foods allowed on the other diets. For this one reason alone, you have to watch what you eat. Yet this kind of “watching” is not what the questioner is asking about.

In all of the aforementioned diets, some foods are believed to be healthy for the body while others are deemed to be unhealthy. Those watching what they eat are making sure they eat health-inducing foods. Watch them at the buffet table as they skirt around the deep-fried foods and reach for the steamed broccoli florets. They pass over the cupcakes with mile-high frosting and fill their bowls with strawberry quarters drizzled with a touch of honey. Is this duality?

Health Is God

If you believe that Health is separate from you and can be attained and maintained by the foods you eat, how many concerns do you have? I counted three (you, health and food). It’s more than a duality: it’s a triality (made up word). In matters of the Spirit, which is all that matters, more than one is too many.

Here’s the Absolute Truth. God is All; God is Health; All is Health. As one writer put it, “Health is the one Power and Presence in the universe.” You can’t get out of Health and you can’t get into Health. Health is your very being – no matter what you eat.

Considering This, What Foods Are Bad Foods?

Nutritional therapy argues against this and states that some foods are good for you and others not so good. Drinking a green smoothie every morning is better than drinking a Dr. Pepper. But is this true? To answer this question, I turn your attention to the words of Christ Jesus: “And these signs shall follow them that believe: In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them.”

In these words (Mark 16:17-18), Christ Jesus taught an important spiritual lesson: There is only one Substance – God. The so-called deadly thing would have no effect because its Substance is God. God is the Substance of all Form. Everything you eat is constituted of the Substance that is the Presence of God.

When all food is understood to be God-Substance, there will be no more ill effects from eating food. One particular statement of Truth was hard for me to grasp until Revelation clarified it. It sounded wonderful, and I understood it to be the key to so-called instantaneous demonstration, but I just couldn’t grasp the concept. Here it is: All of God is equally present at every point of Existence at the same time.

Reviving Grace

This being true and understood, no food is more beneficial than another. Reader, consider what you have just read in the three preceding paragraphs and answer for yourself if some foods are better for you than others.

Rather than follow the advice to watch what you eat, it’s better to be mindful when you eat. Do you remember when your parents made you say grace before you ate? Do you also remember when you wanted to skip grace and dig into those sauce-smothered meatballs? For many people saying grace, if it’s said at all, is a mindless prelude to filling the belly. Let’s revive and revise the “prayer” before each meal.

Before you put the first forkful in your mouth, take a moment to be mindful that God is the Substance of the food you are about to eat. Be mindful that the Substance of your food is the very same Substance of your Body. By doing so, you eliminate the false sense of materiality associated with the Body and eating. And if you are about to eat a vanilla-glazed donut topped with sprinkles, remember you cannot get into or out of Health. Health is your Being.

Getting Rid Of Toxic Relationships

The Question

As I scroll through emails and social media, I am bombarded with articles and quotes on eliminating toxic relationships/people. Is it true that, in order to have a fulfilling life, we have to actively remove toxic people from our lives?

Wouldn’t it be nice if, once a year, a big sweeper-like machine came through and swept toxic people out of our lives? Something similar to this does exist. I call it C.A.R. – Conscious Awareness of Reality.

To get into C.A.R., you have to go back to these basics. There is only One Presence. This Presence is Life, Mind, Activity and Identity. This One, which you are, is indivisibly One, and there is no other. There is no toxic other.

You’ve heard it said that people come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Can you recall someone who came into your life for just a season? Do you remember the good times, the laughter, the moments of encouragement and emotional support? It was wonderful, wasn’t it? Then, like a smoke ring, it vanished! No harm done.

Relationships (of any type) tend to sour when the season is over and one party clings like a finger monkey to a thumb. It’s over. Let go!

However, I can’t leave it here without addressing the harebrained notion that God brings people into your life to teach you valuable lessons. You’ve heard the theory before. For just a second, think about it. Did you notice that this theory is riddled with dualism? God (Indivisible Oneness) is not a professor or a Life Coach. God does not use illusion to teach Truth. Furthermore, God (Indivisible Oneness) does not know of an other that needs to learn spiritual lessons. God is not aware of an unenlightened Identity – and neither are you.

“But, Allen, I’ve got to do something to get these people out of my life. What do I do?” Here’s what you don’t do. Don’t block their phone calls. Don’t move. Don’t avoid them. Do not take one single human step to detoxify your life. “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord Almighty” (Zechariah 4:6).

Remember the big sweeper – C.A.R.? It has to be by Conscious Awareness of Reality. Yes, you must realize that this so-called toxic other is the One Infinite Indivisible Presence of Truth, Life, Light and Love. This is not a matter of mental gymnastics where you hurl affirmations at the person. Affirmation without realization is like a car without an engine. True realization makes affirmations unnecessary. The thing is to get a clear realization that the seeming toxic one is just the One. In a flash, what appeared to be a toxic person is swept out of your life. The person may remain, but only as the One.

There Are No Hopeless Conditions

Lately, I’ve heard too many stories about people ready to make their transition. In most cases, a crippling or fatal disease is involved. In other cases it’s the (seeming) decline of an aging body. For those who are tempted to throw in the towel, I hope you find inspiration from this excerpt of The Finished Kingdom by Lillian DeWaters.

A friend from North Carolina writes, that after years of both mental and bodily suffering from troubles for which there seemed to be no relief, “death, that great nightmare of the phantom world,” came to claim him. At that moment he was suddenly lifted into the plane above and recognized the nothingness of death. Directly over the head of his bed rested a great halo of a billiant, soft light, brighter than any electric light that he had ever beheld.

He declares there was spiritual or supernal force in the room that was irresistible, drawing him up and on, and making clear to him that, in reality, he had never been sick; that he lived, moved and had his being in God’s kingdom right here and now; that this is Life’s glorious city of New Jerusalem. The room seemed filled with the “water of Life” flowing in every direction and filling his consciousness with divine joy and inspiration. Then, the vision ceased; he opened his eyes, knew that he was healed, and arose from what had seemed his death-bed – whole. He declared that for days afterward, he felt as though he were walking on air, he seemed so light and free and glorious.

Many days of seemingly hopeless contemplations of Truth preceded this wonderful experience. Yet, as the story proves, those contemplations were not in vain.

This Is Better Than Good Outcomes

Earth – The Planet Of Doing And Accomplishing

“Our globe has been called Number Five, the planet of works, since everybody and everything must accomplish something or be nobody and nothing.” Those are the words of Emma Curtis Hopkins from her book High Mysticism.

Everybody seems to be working to accomplish something. Some are working for career success, and others are working to attain great wealth. Some are trying to achieve peace of mind, and others are struggling to attain spiritual enlightenment. As they work, they look around to see if there are any results from their labor. Daily they ask themselves: When is it going to happen? Why hasn’t it happened for me? What am I doing wrong?

A Better Way To Live

There is a better way to live. That way is best explained in an email sent to me by an enlightened friend. In it he wrote:

“Humans have a tendency to be preoccupied with outcomes whereas what really concerned Jesus or the Christ man was his status. Because Jesus understood his unchangeable status as the image of God he was never actually concerned about outcomes.”

Being All Is Better Than Achieving All

It seems absurd that merely shifting your focus from thoughts of getting and achieving to understanding your Identity can result in a fulfilling and successful life. Yet is it so farfetched? Imagine you are the owner of two cars: One has a full tank of gas, and the other is almost empty. Which car is going to get you to the next town without stopping? Discovering the truth of your Identity is like finding your once empty tank full of gas.

Once Christ Jesus discovered the Truth of his Identity, he always ran on full – fulfilled. So-called human beings, hurrying and scurrying to accomplish and achieve, are like near-empty tanks hunting for a gas pump.

When Jesus discovered the Truth of his Identity, he made another discovery: I have All because I AM All. From that day on Christ never concerned himself with results. Why should he? In the realization of his Identity, he achieved All.

Are You Willing To Try Something Different?

For years, perhaps, you’ve focused your attention on results. And if you tell the truth, there’s no respite from result-focused living. Reader, this is no way to live! Therefore, I’m asking you one question: Are you willing to try something different? If you are, try Jesus’ method – at least for thirty days.

Just for one month, focus your heart and mind on discovering the Truth of your Identity. Nothing you’ve read or heard counts. This discovery must be by inner Revelation.

The process is simple. Every prayer or meditation must have one purpose only – Self discovery. This means each prayer period will have a point of silent listening to hear the “Voice of Revelation.” Try it. If you have any questions, send me an email. One thing is for certain, it will be a great month of discovery.

Understanding Your Desires

Strike The Word From Your Vocabulary

What do you desire? More important, why do you desire it? Is it because you feel something is missing from your experience? Humanly speaking (and I can’t imagine why anyone would do too much of that), desire and lack are joined at the hip.

Let’s continue from the spiritual point-of-view. Does God desire? Your answer, I’m sure, is, “No, Allen, God being the One Infinite, Indivisible Presence is All and therefore has All. And, Allen, now that I think about it, that word should be struck from my vocabulary.”

Desire Is An Alert – Not An Alarm

You and God are (is) One – the same One. You have All because the I of your Being is All. You are eternally complete. Yet, we do seem to have desires. Why do we have them? Imagine you are waiting for a pizza delivery. Twenty minutes pass, and the doorbell rings. What does that bell signify to your salivating mouth? The presence or absence of the pizza? Yes, the bell signifies the presence of something you desired. Similarly, desire is an alert signifying the presence of something that seems to be absent. If desire could talk it would say, “Don’t overlook me. I’m here.”

Every Desire Alerts You To God’s Presence

Every desire signifies the presence of a spiritual (God) quality. Take a look at these God-qualities:

  • Life
  • Wholeness
  • Joy
  • Infinity
  • Beauty
  • Love/Peace (Oneness)
  • Eternality
  • Completeness

You can trace every so-called human desire back to one or more of these God-qualities.

Someone once asked, “Allen, what about my neighbor’s wife? Sometimes I have desires for her. How do you explain that – spiritually speaking?” In a nutshell, that desire symbolizes the Presence of Completeness.

Simple – But Will You Do It?

Let’s move this from the theoretical to the practical. Whenever a desire emerges, rejoice. Rejoice because the desire is saying, “I think you’ve overlooked me. All you have to do is acknowledge my Presence and understand why I am present, and you will experience my Presence.” Do you understand why the seeming desire is present? It’s because God is Present. Therefore all the qualities of God are Present, and they are present right where you are.

Don’t spin and scurry around trying to get God (or any aspect of God). Simply acknowledge that God is present as that particular aspect of Itself. If you will do this without wavering, you’ll experience the Presence of that which seemed to be absent.

If this unwavering acknowledgment doesn’t seem to work, get busy praying to understand that the entirety of God is present in your life (as your life) right now and always.

Pills, Surgery and Medical Treatment

The Call

One day a call came in asking about taking pills. The man was diagnosed with a heart condition and prescribed a pill he had to swallow twice a day. “How,” Allen, “can I say that God is All and pop these pills every day? Should I toss the pill and simply trust God?”

The Quick Answer

In many variations, I’m asked similar questions. Sometimes the question is about an upcoming surgical procedure, and other times it’s about a doctor’s appointment. Here’s the quick answer: If you have to ask whether to take a pill, take it. At some point, Consciousness (the conscious KNOWING that God is All) will take the pill out of your hand, and you won’t have to think or ask about it again. Furthermore, there will be no fear of the consequences. You will know with absolute certainty that there is no reason to take that pill. There’s nothing to fight and nothing to heal.

Living Up To A Misperceived Notion

You’ve heard of cases where Christian Scientists refused medical treatment or prematurely tossed their pills in the trash can. The consequences were not good. In each case, the pill tosser was trying to live up to a misperceived notion that Christian Science forbids help from materia medica. But it’s not true. Here’s an excerpt from the christianscience.com website: “Christian Scientists are always free to make their own decisions about health care, and indeed, every aspect of their lives. They respect the individual rights and conscience of those who choose medical care, just as they respect the humanitarian motives of those who provide medical care.”

It’s All About Wholeness

The pill. What does it represent? No one takes medication because they want to be sick. They take it because they want to experience Wholeness. Whether a person decides on a surgical procedure or a pill, it’s because of an inner certainty that they should always be whole and healthy. The pill or procedure is a material representation of Wholeness – not sickness.

Here we are at the point of Truth. Wholeness (Health) is the nature of God, and it can only be found in God. Pills and medical procedures give you an approximation of Wholeness, but they cannot give you Wholeness itself. God is Wholeness. What every pill popper wants is Wholeness – not an approximation. At a point, every pill-taking Truth student understands that what they desire is a greater realization of God’s Allness. That realization translates into the experience of Wholeness.

Should you have to take medication, do it without entertaining guilt. You can do this when you understand that the medication is only temporary until the real thing comes along – the realization of God’s Allness. Let’s explore what’s going on here.

It’s Just An Alert

The problem, whatever it seems to be, is an alert. It’s informing you that there is some greater Truth to be perceived. Your task is to discover this Truth. Meanwhile, medication offers temporary relief so that you can devote your attention to perceiving that Truth. Take advantage of the relief medication gives you so that you can engage in higher pursuits.

Recipe For A Great New Year

recipe-575434_1280

You, like everyone else, want this so-called new year to be a great year. You want to be done with those chronic problems. You want to experience better health, greater happiness and abundant prosperity. Bottom line: You want to experience total fulfillment in every area of your life. Why not!

This post is about you enjoying a great year, and if the suggestions are followed, this year may seem magical. Joel Goldsmith, the founder of Infinite Way, once wrote, “There is no external change without an internal development. You may wonder as you go through the years with no apparent change in your affairs, why this thing called God isn’t doing something for you. You can go on for your entire career and still find no increase or improvement unless there is inner expansion, a broadening of spiritual vision.”

Using his words as a springboard, here’s a short recipe for a wonderful year.

Give Up Your Definition Of A Wonderful Year

If you can define or picture what a wonderful year might be, already your year is limited. Just like God cannot be defined or pictured, a year constituted of God cannot be defined or pictured.

No matter how lofty and wonderful the definition, or how grand the picture, it’s going to have some human-perception baggage attached to it. A prisoner held in a gold cell is still in jail. No matter how magnificent your definition of a wonderful year is, it is still limited. Let go of your idea of a good year.

Leave Your Problems Alone And Get A Divorce

Stop working on your problems. Stop praying, meditating and contemplating to resolve your problems.

Your problems may seem devastating – even life-threatening; nevertheless, stop working on them. For just this year, give up using God (Truth) to solve your problems. It’s selfish.

If you are a Bible reader, did you notice that Christ Jesus never taught people to pray about their problems? Yes, he did say, “Ask and it shall be given.” He was talking about the kingdom of God. Ask for the kingdom of God (the realization of God), and you’re guaranteed to get that kingdom.

Did you huff and puff when I stated that asking God to solve your problems is selfish? When you pray to solve your problems, where is your attention? On your self. When you contemplate, hoping that it will untangle a knotty problem, where is your attention? On your self. All of this attention on your self is plain self-ish-ness.

But, what self is it? This sick and troubled self cannot be included in the Allness of God. If so it would be perfect. If it is a self separate from God, where could it exist? God is Infinite.

Answer this one question about this problem-laden self that’s swaddled in so much prayerful attention: Is it the God-Self? No! Tell the absolute truth: It is no self at all. Why pray to heal a self that doesn’t exist? The same is true of a seemingly vexed or troubled self. It doesn’t exist. What’s more, you are not that self. Someone once wrote, “What tears are wasted upon illusions.” More prayers than tears have been wasted upon a self that doesn’t exist. There’s no better way to divorce your Self from that self than to stop praying for that non-existent self.

Go For The Gold

I once wrote about a woman who was surprisingly healed of an incurable disease (AIDS). After her doctors gave her a few months to live, she decided to make the most of her remaining time.

She did not hope or pray for healing. At that time, no one had ever been healed of AIDS, so she decided not to waste her time praying to be healed. She believed in reincarnation, and she wanted a head start in the next life. So this woman decided to learn as much about God as she could in her remaining days.

Every prayer and meditation had one purpose – knowing God via revelation. All of this God-focused attention resulted in her healing.

There are many stories like hers where people were freed from tormenting circumstances by forgetting all about the problem and focusing all of their prayerful attention on knowing God – directly.

Reader, you don’t need disease or difficulty to drive you to know God (via direct revelation). Today you can choose to learn as much about God as you can. Each God-discovery will yield an experience far greater than you can imagine. Get started today and the year has to be a great year.

Some People Are Doing It

Allen, why hasn’t anyone since Jesus demonstrated their Christ nature as he did?

This Is How It Appears

Let’s first rephrase the question to include what’s missing: Judging by appearances, why hasn’t anyone since Jesus demonstrated their Christ nature as he did? I had to do this because any answer to this question has to be based on the appearance that people aren’t demonstrating the fullness of their Christ nature. Let’s dive into the answer.

Just Enough God To Make It Through The Week

Following a church service, a married couple had a rare discussion concerning spiritual matters. The wife poured out her heart’s desire to know and experience God as the reality of her Identity. Dead silence followed. The husband then replied, “I’m not interested in God to that degree.”

That is the chief reason why people are not demonstrating the fullness of their Christ Identity. They are “not interested in God to that degree.” It seems enough that their diseases are healed, their wallets are filled and their human goals are attained. It seems enough that they have more good days than bad, more smiles than tears.

The Consecrated LIfe

As a boy, Jesus announced, “I must be about my Father’s business.” His heart was fixed on knowing God. Knowing God was the focus of his life. Today millions worship, pray, and talk about God, but how many have made it their life’s focus to know God – to be God taught? Not many. Where the husband said, “I’m not interested in God to that degree,” Christ Jesus’ life implied, all I am interested in is knowing God.

Great Expectations

Christian Science practitioner, author and lecturer, Dorothy Rieke, was often asked why so many Christian Scientists are passing on. Her quick reply was, “Too many are planning on passing on.” In short, no one expects to live forever.

Similarly, most are not showing forth the fullness of their Christ nature, as did Jesus, because no one expects to. It seems to be enough to know that we have a Christ nature, and to talk about it. It seems to be enough to muse about the possibilities of healing sick family members, turning tap water into fine wine, and multiplying seafood suppers to feed unexpected guests, but few expect to do it.

There you have it! – the two main reasons people are not demonstrating the fullness of their Christ nature like Christ Jesus.

  • No one is interested
  • No one expects to

Be Counted In This Group

I can’t let it rest here. There is something you must know. People today are instantly healing the sick. These same people are doing additional things indicating an even fuller demonstration of their Christ nature. Just like Christ Jesus, they have been called upon to raise the clinically dead.

Like Christ Jesus, they are defying the seeming limitations of so-called material laws. Proving the omnipresence of the I AM, they have verified accounts of bi-localization. And they have instantly traveled thousands of miles to other states or countries. These people are able to see through and move through solid objects – just like Christ Jesus. None of this is for ego-driven public display.

Hiding — Maybe In Plain Sight

Where are these people? They may be in your very midst. Or most likely, they’ve made a gradual retreat from society. Here’s why.

These people have seen, heard, and experienced many things that, to most people, are unbelievable – even fantastical. Rather than endure ridicule, they keep silent and retreat.

The one thing all these people have in common is that the realization of God is all that is important to them – JUST LIKE CHRIST JESUS.

Thanksgiving — Its Spiritual Significance

This except is by Marie Watts from The Word.

We know that God really is All, and there is nothing that is not God. This being true, we are aware that God is the entirety of our Existence, and the entirety of our Intelligence, our Life, our Consciousness, and the entirety of our Body.

Furthermore, God has to be the entirety of our experience, and God has to be the One who experiences. As there is no God outside of, or other than, our Self, whom or what are we going to thank for a greater Realization of Perfection? There is only one answer to this question: There is no one to thank at all other than our God Self.

To give thanks, and to be grateful, mean exactly the same thing. We are grateful, but our gratitude is not to God. Neither is it for things or for healing. Our gratitude is not for the fact that something that was already perfect was revealed to be perfect, for the realization of the evidence of supply when supply has always been present. We cannot be grateful that God is God or that omnipresent heaven is the Presence of heaven right here and now. So, let us perceive the true meaning of the word “gratitude,” and why we are grateful.

And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord even the devils are subject unto us through thy name” (Luke 10:17). The disciples knew that they went forth in their right and only Identity. They also knew that the name of their Identity was the same name as was that of the one called Jesus – I AM. “…in this rejoice not that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven” (Luke 10:20). Right here is the key to the tremendous significance of that word, “thanks.”

We rejoice (or give thanks), “because our names are written in heaven.” We rejoice because we have discovered that the I AM Identity is eternally perfect, free, joyous, and abundantly aware of infinite Supply. We rejoice (give thanks) because we perceive that our I AM Identity is eternally in heaven, because our I AM Identity is the very Presence of heaven Itself.

That which had appeared to be hate is perceived to be Love, and that which had seemed to be darkness is seen to be Light. Above all, we rejoice because we have discovered our genuine and only Identity, and our name is I AM.

Our joy is boundless because we are actually “seeing” things as they are, rather than as they appeared to be when we seemed to “see through a glass darkly.” Our gratitude is really our great joy in realizing this true and only perception. This is our Thanksgiving. This is our gratitude, and this is our eternal song of Joy.

How To Profit From Change

coping-with-change-1-638

“Everything must change.
Nothing stays the same.
That’s the way of time.
Everything must change.”

These are the lyrics of a popular song (link here) by Benard Ighner. It appears to be based on a familiar passage in the Holy Bible (Ecclesiastes 3:1-7). It’s all about change. Reader, how do you cope with change?

Things Always Seem To Be Changing

It seems that we are always dealing with change.

  • a change of heart
  • a change of mind
  • a change of plans
  • change of circumstances

And what about those unexpected changes?

  • A once happy marriage/relationship turns sour.
  • A loved one suddenly dies.
  • A new home in a new state or country.
  • A change of employment.

I could go on about the many changes you may face, but this post is not about change. It’s about how to cope with and profit from seeming change.

A woman boards the train. She finds a comfortable seat by the window. She’s waiting for her husband to come with the mocha lattes. “What’s taking him so long,” she wonders. She looks through the window to her left. Another train is slowly pulling out of the station. She panics. Thinking it’s her train that’s moving, she looks out of her window hoping to see her husband hurrying down the platform. Then she realizes that her train is not moving at all.

Keep Your Eyes On The Prize

This scenario is the fundamental key to coping with seeming change in your life. THOUGH MANY SCENES AND THINGS MAY APPEAR TO CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE, KEEP YOUR EYES AND HEART FIXED ON THAT WHICH NEVER CHANGES.

“For I am the Lord, and I change not.” Things and scenarios may seem to change in your life, but if you keep your focus on the changeless Presence of God, you will squeeze every drop of goodness out of any change.

It’s All A Matter Of Consciousness

Some changes seem troubling. It’s like a black curtain has circled your life. Life seems dark, gloomy, despairing. Even then I ask you, if Infinite Goodness is equally present and everywhere present, isn’t it right there where the seeming gloom and darkness appears to be? How could you flee from God’s Presence of Infinite Goodness? You can’t.

It’s a good thing for you to contemplate the Infinite Goodness of God as a fixed, changeless fact in your life.

Coping successfully with change is a matter of CONSCIOUSNESS. It’s all about your attitude and what you are perceiving.

When you find yourself fearing change, don’t look out the window at that which seems to be moving in your life. Turn your gaze to the platform: the never-changing presence of Infinite Goodness. Things and scenarios may seem to change in your life, but GOD’S GOODNESS IS A FIXED FACT IN YOUR LIFE.
