Who Are You?

The following excerpt is by Absolute author, Lillian DeWaters from her book, Who Am I?

I have taken the liberty to make some changes. The changes make the text easier to read and understand.

Today, many are wondering why they do not accomplish more through their study and prayer. Reader, are you one of these? Do you question, Why does not God, the Truth, heal me entirely? Why am I not quickly brought into prosperity and success? Why must I wait longer?

The reason why one has not known the correct answers to these questions sooner, and so found the true solution to the problems at hand, is because he thinks from the mistaken viewpoint that he is not the One Identity, not the One Life, not the One Being, but another being called man.

So long as you believe yourself to be someone besides the “I,” you can never understand nor experience the Truth of your Being.

Tragically enough, however, if you do not know and identify yourself as the perfect Self, but with an assumed personality or mentality, you live in mystification and ignorance. Assuming another identity, you become weak, sick, poor, and limited in every direction.

Moreover your whole existence now becomes a search to find yourself – to find Truth, to find love, peace and immortality. Your one idea now is to become what you already are – strong, well, wealthy, happy and satisfied.

Never, can you, or anyone, truly realize your hope to be well and happy, prosperous and satisfied so long as you identify your “I” with anyone but God – the One Alone.

Listen! There is but ONE God, ONE Self; ONE I; ONE Life; ONE Being. Therefore, to believe that you are another – such as image, idea, expression, man – is to be self-deceived … and thus at the mercy of your own misconception.

To illustrate. Every time anyone seeks to change or spiritualize his thinking, he is unwittingly identifying himself with a personal mind.

Furthermore, every time one attempts to heal his body of discord or disease through some kind of thought or prayer, he is ignorantly identifying himself with perishable flesh.

Really, you are not separate, apart from Me, nor other than I AM. Aware of the truth of Being, you can say – “I am the Truth now.”

Mind – Impersonal and Universal

blog

One Mind

One Consciousness

One Awareness

Where are the unillumined minds? Nowhere! Where are minds that have only an intellectual understanding of Truth? Nowhere! Where are the dualistic minds believing in a presence and power other than God? Nowhere!

At one time, we all believed that mind was a personal possession. We spoke of “my mind,” “her mind,” a “child’s mind,” etc. We even believed that God had a mind, albeit a sort of super mind. However, these personal minds are not Mind. They are to Mind as Monopoly money is to real money, equally useless for day-to-day living.

Mind is God, and God is Mind – infinite, impersonal and universal. Mind is Omnipresent, but this means zilch until you consider what Mind knows. And what Mind knows requires just two words: I AM. I AM is the Universal Fact of Existence, and Existence unceasingly revels in this Fact.

Isn’t it a joy to know that you don’t have a mind, but that you are Mind? Isn’t it thrilling to realize you are Infinite Mind knowing Itself to be all there is? It’s a relief, isn’t it, to know that Mind is impersonal, to know you don’t have to spend a lifetime trying to enlighten a personal mind? The struggle is over. You and I can relax in the enjoyment of Illumined Awareness.

Reader. You know the Truth, and you know that you are free from every seeming illusion.

A Reader Shares A Great Message Of “Healing”

This letter came by snail mail from one of our readers. If you have a story to share of so-called healing of insight, please send it in.

Dear Allen,

I read your recent post “This May Be Better Than God”, and I’m on board with you. For years I’ve been contemplating I AM.

Here’s how I do it. I break it up into two syllables, I and Am. Sometimes, to be honest, I never get past the I. When I say I, there’s a sense of boundlessness, bigness, infinity. As they say, “center without a circumference.”

As I share this story with you, I want you to get that I know I’m not confined to the form of my body. This is what happened:

One morning I woke up with one side of my body in pain. Allen, I’m talking from head to toe. I couldn’t put any pressure on my left foot. I limped into the kitchen, but double backed to the bed. “This won’t do.” It was really strange that just one side of my body could be in so much pain.

This went on all day long. But, Allen, I had an important engagement coming up in a few days. I had to be up to snuff.

That night I contemplated the words I AM and lingered on the I. Then I realized that I cannot be immobilized. Since I is not confined to this body form, I’s mobility cannot possibly be confined to this body form. It could not be impaired. Allen, I realized that if I’s mobility could be impaired, then the movement of the planets, waters, and winds would be impaired. After all, I is all.

I asked myself (got this from God is All), “Have the planets stopped moving?” I said no. Then my movements cannot be stopped. I realized that I am mobility. The next morning I got up and with just a mild pain went about my business free to Be.

All the while, Allen, I kept my thoughts on I Am not confined to my body. I Am boundless, free and infinite. I am not bound by my body. I can move. I Am movement.

Allen, I know I don’t have to tell you that by afternoon, I was going up and down the stairs, around the house and through the hardware store with perfect ease. Thanks for your blog.

A Reader Shares His Experience With The I AM Exercise

I had many responses to my most recent blog (The I AM Exercise). One that really caught my attention was from Johann who lives in South Africa.

“Hi Allen, I followed your suggestion as per the blog entry and yesterday I went to fetch my niece from College. I called all I AM in my mind and had such great experiences.”

He goes on to report: experiencing friendly people, easy parking, and then states that something else happened.

“I was waiting for my niece at a coffee shop and while waiting had a desert. When I left I went to the cashier to pay. I took out of my wallet R40 (1x R20 bill and 2x R10 bills) the cashier then showed me she has R50 in her hand (1xR20 bill and 3x R10 bills). This was amazing and it afforded me to leave the friendly waitress a bigger tip. This is my motto now, see all and everything as the I AM.”

I hope that Johann’s letter (written just two days after the post) inspires you to start the I AM exercise right away. Here is the exercise.
