The Solution To Any Problem

The Solution To Your Problem Is A Spiritual One

There is an answer – a solution – to every problem! If you appear to be facing a problem, there is an immediate solution. No matter how big, longstanding, or overwhelming the problem seems to be, there is a solution. It is a spiritual solution.

Despite all appearances, this is a spiritual universe – chock full of the Spirit of God. Your Life is Spirit. Your Body is Spirit. All things and all people in your world are Spirit. This is a spiritual universe. That is why the solution to your seeming troubles must be a spiritual one.

Get Out Of The Mud

You know, as well as I, that this Spiritual Universe seems to be composed of matter. Yet, it is just that – a seeming. It’s not so. All of our problems are like the material world – something that seems to be but is not. The solution is not to play around in the mud of materiality trying to make better mud pies, but to get out of the mud altogether. In short, the solution to any problem is a realization of what is (Truth).

Don’t You Just Love This Quote?

I’m sure I quoted the following passage in a previous blog post, but it’s always been one of my favorites from Infinite Way founder, Joel Goldsmith:

“I do not want this problem to pass until I have seen the spiritual light that dissolves it and which, in dissolving this problem, will dissolve all the problems which may develop tomorrow or next year.”

In this short excerpt, Joel Goldsmith reveals the one approach that is guaranteed to solve your problem and ensure that you never see it again.

Here is a paraphrase of the excerpt that makes its point and purpose clearer:

What I want is a greater realization of God’s Presence revealing the nothingness of this seeming problem. I don’t just want the problem to go away. What I want is to perceive God’s Allness so clear that the seeming problem is eliminated permanently.

Read the excerpt and paraphrase one more time. What do you notice? Yes, you’re right. Both examples use the seeming problem as a redirection tactic to focus your attention on God-realization.

When you put this into practice, your attention is no longer on the problem. You’ve jumped off of the mental merry-go-round trying to solve the problem. Now, your focus is on God and nothing but God. Let’s take a look at how this is put into practice.

From Theory To Practice

Eric was in a tight corner. Unemployed, he hadn’t paid his mortgage in months. Time ran out. Eric had to come up with the money or lose his home. His mind went into spin cycle trying to come up with a human solution, but there was none.

Back against the wall, he thought to himself, “Well, I haven’t tried prayer. What do I have to lose? Now, according to Goldsmith, I’m not supposed to pray about the problem. Crazy as it sounds, I’m supposed to pray for God-realization. I’m going to try it, but I know I have to be really interested in God and not in the money. That’s the hard part.” In those first few prayers, Eric wanted money – not God. But he got there.

Now and again, his mind wanted to scurry back to the problem, but Eric was alert enough to know what his real desire was. He understood that this apparent problem was merely drawing his attention to something, and that something was a FACT OF GOD.

Forgetting all about money, Eric focused on discovering a God-fact – any God-fact. Understanding the importance of this discovery, he said to himself, “I don’t want this problem to be resolved until I discover the God-fact that will do away with this appearance once and for all.” He meant it.

Eric was guaranteed to discover this fact, and he did. His problem was resolved in a seemingly miraculous way. It’s easy to think the surprise check that came in the mail was the resolution of his problem. But, that is not true. The resolution was the discovery of the God-fact.

Again, there is a spiritual solution to every problem. Should a problem ever appear in your life, you can use Eric’s story to approach the resolution of your problem in the very same way.

The Solution For Stubborn Problems Pt. 2

there-is-always-hope-dont-give-up

So far, we’ve established our foundation:

  • Don’t tolerate any appearance of imperfection – no matter how long-standing.
  • Don’t give in to the appearance.

If it seems as though your problem is still clinging like a tree monkey, it’s time for more decisive action – the activity of God realization. From this point forward you’re going to move beyond all of your frustration and confusion.

Perhaps doubt has snuck in through the back door of your frustration, and you thought, “This Truth isn’t what it’s cracked up to be.” You’re going to move beyond this illusion of a doubting mind to embark on the most thrilling adventure of your life. I mean it. Despite the many pleasures and happy moments you have enjoyed, nothing compares to what is about to happen for you.

The thrill of discovering a God-fact via direct revelation is matchless. Why? Because that God-fact, revealed, shows up as a so-called “healing” of the problem. Let’s start the adventure.

LOVE YOUR PROBLEM

Don’t fear it! Don’t resent it! Love your problem! Love it. Not because it is real, but for what it can reveal. If you’ve endured a long-standing problem, you’ve probably said many times, “Why is this happening to me? After all the Truth I know, how could this happen to me?” Loving your problem is going to reveal exactly what is happening.

The problem, no matter how long-standing exists (or at least seems to) for one purpose – to draw your attention to a specific God-fact. Once the God-fact is known, the problem has served its purpose. The God-fact reveals a Truth of God, and in the wake of that revelation is the perception of God’s presence right where the problem seemed to be. Had the problem not appeared in the first place, most people would not be steadfast and faithful in wanting to move beyond their present understanding of God’s Allness.

I HAD A PROBLEM AND LOVED IT BECAUSE …

It was not a long-standing problem, but one that seemed life-threatening. All night I was in and out of silent, God-focused listening prayer. The revelation that came forth was a watershed moment completely changing my perception of the Body. For that reason, I loved the problem. Otherwise, I would not have been pushed to go beyond my present understanding of the Body.

Is the problem necessary in order to discover the God-fact? Absolutely not! But let’s be honest. Most people pray more fervently when things are going wrong. And that’s when more God-facts are realized. Do you see why I urge you to love your problem? The God-fact that it is turning your attention to is priceless.

DISCOVERING THE GOD-FACT

It’s time to turn and see exactly what God-fact your seeming problem is signaling. God-facts cannot be reasoned out. God-facts cannot be intellectually discerned. They can only be revealed by way of silent, listening prayer. There are many ways to approach this, but I’m suggesting two.

Go Directly For The Fact

After you’ve settled in and are ready to listen and “hear,” simply ask your God-Consciousness, “What is the Truth I most need to realize?” You ask and you listen. Repeat if necessary. In this approach, you are totally bypassing the seeming difficulty and your total focus is on the spiritual discovery of a God-fact.

The Springboard Approach

This is the approach favored by many. I think it’s because the seeming problem is at least addressed, and then immediately dismissed. Here you start with the problem and use it as a trampoline to spring to greater awareness of God’s Allness.

After you’ve settled in and are ready to “hear,” you lay it all out on the table as it appears to be. Below is an example:

It seems that I’ve been suffering from kidney pain for the last fifteen years. The doctors say that it is due to a rupture of some type and that I need surgery. Sometimes the pain is unbearable, and I can barely move. Then, I spend the rest of the day in bed. This is all what appears to be, but what is the Truth I need to know?

That last sentence is the most important. Again, you ask and listen, and repeat if necessary. In either approach, you continue until the Revelation of the God-fact is experienced. Your question may be, “But what about my problem?”

Problems, long-standing or otherwise, remind me of the Mission Impossible movies. Have you ever seen one? The adventure-packed film opens with Ethan receiving a plain envelope. Inside there is a gadget with the IMF mission that concludes with “Your mission, should you decide to accept it ….” After that, the device self-destructs. Problems alert your attention to a God-fact. Once the God-fact is discovered, the (seeming) problem self-destructs. Or, in spiritual language, its “something” is revealed and evidenced to be nothing.

Joel Goldsmith On Problems

When You Are Confronted With A Problem Turn Within

Let it be clearly understood that the wisdom of man is not sufficient to give anyone the specific truths adequate to meet a problem. When you are confronted with specific problems, whether your own or somebody else’s, you cannot rush around looking for a memorandum of some recording you have heard or some passage in a book you have read to remind you what truths you are supposed to know, because, even if you found them instantly, they would not be too helpful.

All truth is given to us from God, and if you want to know the truth about anything – the specific truth – you do not have to go to a book to find it. Turn to God within. There is a specific truth for every problem, and the abiding place of that truth is in your consciousness. Your consciousness is the place where every bit of truth is found.

There Is A Specific Truth For Every Problem

“The kingdom of God is within you.” There is nothing for which you could seek that you cannot find within yourself. When you learn to receive the answers, you will find that you are given a truth, a specific truth with which to meet every problem because there is a specific truth about every problem which will be revealed through turning wholeheartedly to God and in meditation seeking Him alone.

The question often arises as to whether or not God knows anything about our problems. Probably not, but when you go within asking, “What or where is the bread of this day?” the answer may come, “I am the bread, the wine, and the water.” Or if you should ask what the truth is about a particular situation, you might hear the words, “I am the truth.” The problem of the organs and functions of the body may be uppermost in your mind, and then the truth may reveal itself in this way, “I govern the organs and functions of the body. Life governs the organs and functions of the body. Organs and functions do not govern life.”

Problems Are Opportunities

There are stages in our experience with problems. The first period is when we have a problem that to us is a very real one, and we turn to a practitioner, teacher, or teaching for help in solving that problem. The second stage of our unfoldment is that stage in which a problem becomes an opportunity.

Jacob had reached that stage when he wrestled with the angel all night long and would not let him go: “I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.” It is when we are at that point that we, too, say, “I don’t want this problem to pass until I have seen the spiritual light that dissolves it, and which, in dissolving this problem, will dissolve all the problems which may be developing tomorrow or next year.”

Suppose that we do have a problem of disease? Suppose that we are meeting with lack and limitation? Why be concerned and why struggle as if we must get rid of those problems when our function is to prove the nothingness of them? Therein lies the secret. If our function is to prove the nothingness of all the appearances that the world calls discord, then why should be we concerned when the opportunity comes to us to prove their nothingness, first to ourselves and then to the world.

The Solution To Every Problem

Transforming Power Of A Oneness Contemplation

If dualism is the root of all problems, then ONENESS is the solution to all problems. It does not matter what the nature of the problem appears to be, ONENESS IS THE ANSWER. Dear reader, you can experience a great “transformation” of your life by completely realizing, “I and my Father are one.” By contemplating this Truth, and letting revelation after revelation come forth, every area of your life will be showered with miracles. Of course nothing really changes, and nothing is transformed, but the Finished Kingdom of Heaven, present here and now, is revealed and experienced.

Similarly, scaling the heights and plumbing the depths of the realization that THERE IS ONLY ONE PRESENCE AND ONE POWER IN AND AS ALL THE UNIVERSE can seem to transform your life, as if a fairy-godmother waved her magic wand over your world.

Never Battle Externals – Realize Truth

Beloved, never battle with so called externals. Never fight against anything or anyone that seems to be outside of you. Deal only with your Consciousness. Deal only with your Perception and Awareness. Settle the matter in your own God Consciousness, and you will completely resolve any seeming difficulty. I know you have read this many times, but do you understand its full implication? If you do, you would understand that you would never battle a headache with a pill. You would never battle a loved one with caustic words or threats of violence. Instead, you would stand still and clearly realize that God is the one and only Presence, Power, Identity, and Manifestation. Furthermore, you would know that YOU, YOURSELF, ARE THIS PRESENCE AND POWER. Having perceived this with utmost clarity, there are no issues to resolve.

How Many Problems Do You Have?

"Be still and know that I am God"

This is a follow-up to a previous post (So Many Things To Pray About) that partially answered the question “How do you pray when you have so many things to pray about?”

Rather than take you on the scenic route, let’s go straight to the answer. YOU HAVE NO PROBLEMS – NONE!

Just One Problem And That’s Debatable

Take a deep breath, and continue reading. The idea that you have a truckload of problems to pray over is a lie. There is only one SEEMING problem that is disguised as a truckload of problems, and that one problem is the idea that there is something going on in your life other than the Presence, Power, and Activity of Love (God). Reader, isn’t that what the real issue is?

So, take the next step. You know that there is only One Presence and only One Power. Necessarily, there must be only One Mind. You may have called it “my mind”, “his mind”, “her mind”, but these personal tags are only distortions of the Infinite, Indivisible Mind that is God.

Are You Sure You’re Aware Of A Problem?

What does this One Mind know? What can it know but One Presence and One Power? Do you think this One Mind (God) knows anything about a difficulty? See for yourself!

In silent listening prayer, ask your Self these two questions:

  1. “What mind exists that believes there is a presence and power other than God?”
  2. “What mind exists that is aware of these problems?”

Reader, the power is not in the questioning. The power is in the listening. Here is a word of caution: DO NOT MAKE UP YOUR OWN ANSWERS!

The Guarantee

You many have to ask and listen many times, but the revealed answer makes it all worthwhile. I guarantee that once you follow the above suggestions, and once you ask and experience the answer to the above questions, you will:

  • never be knocked off your feet by a seeming problem
  • never feel victimized by life
  • know how to handle any problem that seems to come up
  • have extended days of blissful living
