This May Be Better Than God

the_right_word

When She Asked The Question My Tongue Froze

Nearing the end of the conversation, I hoped that something connected – that the right words were spoken to communicate the Truth of God’s Allness. (Believe me, words are really not the ideal tool for this.) I also hoped that something I said inspired and motivated her. Just before I thought we were done, I heard a lilt in her voice. It’s that familiar sound that says “Allen, I get it. God really is All.”

Then she asked a simple question that sealed my lips and glued my tongue to the top of my mouth. Mentally, I stuttered. My thoughts wouldn’t come together to make a sensible sentence. It was a difficult question to answer. No doubt, I was making it harder than it actually was. The question she asked was, “Allen, what is another name for God?” Simple question, isn’t it?

Finally, I Had To Confess

I could’ve listed the so-called attributes of God and said, “Love, Power, Light, Spirit, Perfection, etc.”, but my mind was stuck on the word GOD. Finally, after what seemed like hours, I said, “Doris, I have to confess that I rarely use the word God. Unless I am writing, or talking to someone, I seldom use the word. In my alone time (which is a lot of time) I use I AM.” Dead silence.

“Doris, often the word God implies a presence and power separate from, and other than, my presence, and I know no such presence exists. However, when I say I AM, I know that I mean All. I know I mean one infinite, inseparable presence and that I Am that I AM.” Doris understood immediately.

Is Allen Trying To Turn Dung To Diamonds?

Reader, understand that when I say I AM, I am not trying to turn dung into diamonds. I am not reaching down into the muddy swamp of dualism to lift up a human sense of identity. When I say I AM, it is clear for me to see the nothingness of a so-called born, human identity. And from that view it’s easier to see the nothingness of a sick, limited, weak, and impoverished identity.

Have you noticed that when people talk about God (even in so-called enlightened circles), it is as if they are talking about a presence and power separate and apart from themselves – some other Being? Nothing in their conversation indicates that this God they are talking about is their very being. Do you think it would be possible for them to talk, or even think separation if they substituted I AM (with understanding) for the word God? Of course not. Such a simple substitution would force the speaker to confront exactly how All their God is. It would force them to reconsider their identity in many wonderful ways.

It’s Like Japanese Chocolates (Royce Nama)

Reader, sometimes I find myself slowly saying the words I AM. I savor them like a fine piece of imported Japanese chocolate. They are the most uplifting words I’ve ever said. Many times I’ve been lifted out of the fog of dualism just by saying the words I AM – and knowing what I am saying.

Before you e-mail me with a rebuttal, I know that words only have the meaning you give to them. I know that someone can say the word God and it means just what I AM means to me. If the word “God” works for you, hold onto it, but try this.

When you have a quiet moment, slowly say the words I AM. Savor each syllable. Then, be still and listen to “your” Consciousness. Try it for a few days, and see if the words I AM are more meaningful for you.

Contemplation Matters For These Reasons

Contemplating At The Museum

Someone asked me, “Allen, what is contemplation?”

The sibling question is “Why contemplate?” If the reason for contemplation isn’t fully understood, the what’s and how’s don’t matter. Spiritual contemplation is a calm inner looking at the Allness of God. It is Mind (God) beholding Itself. Contemplation is similar to the quiet, often uplifting, viewing of a great piece of museum artwork.

You’ve, no doubt, been to a museum and gazed at a piece of artwork. You observed the sweep of the curves, the colors, and the shading. As you continued gazing at the picture, you thought about the images in the picture. You noticed things. Without any conscious effort, thought followed thought. You saw new things you didn’t see moments before. More thoughts flowed. This is contemplation.

Take note. You were not trying to get anything out of this contemplation. You were not using it for anything. Not once did you think, “When I’m through looking at this, I hope my life gets better.”

You didn’t try to control the experience, did you? Most likely, wherever your eyes landed on the canvas, you simply basked in the beauty. You did not try to control the experience. And you certainly didn’t try to change the artwork. You merely observed and enjoyed.

Contemplation’s River Of Ideas

This leads to the first point. Spiritual contemplation is a joy-filled experience. Spiritual contemplation is just “observing” the facts of God’s Allness – or some aspect of it. For example, you may find yourself contemplating the fact that, “I and the Father are one, and not two.”

As you “observe” this Truth, Consciousness reveals that there is no separation of time and space between you and God. The flow of ideas further reveals that there is no God and you. Ideas will continue to flow leading to the awareness that there is just I Am – no you, and no God. Somewhere in your “observation”, you will see that you are not a seeker of Truth, but Truth Itself. There is no such thing as what you should see in contemplation. There are no should’s in this observation. Ultimately, this experience is Mind beholding Itself, and its activity is Self-directed. It will always lead to a place of silence where there is knowing without the unnecessary weight of words.

When you gaze at a masterpiece, contemplating its beauty, what you see at one viewing will not be the same thing you see at another viewing. That’s how it is when you contemplate Truth. There’s always something new to see (perceive).

Spiritual Contemplation Brings Your Attention Back To What Is

Why contemplate? As mentioned in the “Prayer Project”, all day long you and I seem to see and sense things that are NOT the Allness of God. You may seem to see a fight in the workplace. You may seem to see a sick person, a homeless person, animal abuse. If you are a news watcher, there’s no telling what hellacious pictures you’ll see.

When we see these things we tend to think about them over and over again. This, too, is contemplation, but how does it make you feel to continually think – contemplate – these lies about the Allness of God? This kind of contemplation is the illusory activity of a mind that seems to exist but doesn’t.

Spiritual contemplation brings our attention back to what IS. It has to. It is ISNESS beholding Itself. When contemplation of God’s Allness is just a quiet consideration of Truth, your very soul smiles. You feel good.

Look Again – Things Aren’t What They Appear To Be

Contemplation is not an escape hatch from the seeming ugliness and messiness or daily living. And it’s a mistake to think that contemplation is impractical. Contemplation is the most practical thing you can do. Here are the benefits of contemplation:

  • Contemplation is effortless.
  • Contemplation is a hands-off affair.
  • Contemplation does not require mental or physical labor to be effective.

Right now you might be saying to yourself, “How is contemplation practical?” Do you remember when stereograms had their heyday? These are large pictures that look like small, misshapen blocks of color. At first glance, you think “Boring!” But the directions tell you to continue staring at the picture, and when you do, your eyes widen and your jaw drops. Now you see a beautiful landscape that rivals a masterpiece.

At first you only saw random chunks of color. You kept looking, and then you saw a magnificent landscape. The landscape was there all along, but you had to keep looking. No effort, no labor, and no planning were required of you to make that landscape. You just had to keep looking.

That’s how contemplation works. It’s all a matter of looking and seeing. Contemplation is Mind’s way of looking (seeing/perceiving) the world (Itself). Where the first glance seems to show a picture of lack and limitation, contemplation reveals a new picture of abundance and plenty.

Perhaps your Body seems to show a picture of weakness and disease. Contemplation of God’s Allness sharpens your view. Now you see (and experience) a Body brimming with health and vitality.

And no work was done. No getting in there to fix and repair. Thus we have a contemplative consideration of God’s Allness as All, revealing (showing forth) God to BE ALL.

Your Good Can Never Be Depleted

201501_Abundant_Life

Last week I received a short handwritten note asking me to please share more of Gertrude Gephart’s writings on the blog. Below are carefully selected quotes from Ms. Gephart.

Everything is perfect even in our apparently material world, for this very world we walk in is our view of reality. It is the reflection of reality. It is our interpretation of God, of Truth which is all. To perceive this makes our good permanent. This understanding makes us quiet down and seek God and cease to look for demonstrations and miracles. In Him, all fulness of every kind of good dwells.

This world, if judged as it appears, is the world of action, of doing, of getting. We have to find the Sabbath’s day rest, the rest, the peace, of being rather than the strife of doing and getting. Perception of being takes care of doing and getting.

A certain student told her teacher, at various times, of her demonstrations over accidents, and at last he said, “This is all very well, but you should not continually have accidents to demonstrate over and out of. You are the Truth, and you cannot see evil or accidents. You cannot see a near-accident, for a near-accident is a unreal as an actual accident.”

Really when you spend money, you do not take it our of your pocket book or your bank account, though you may seem to. It comes forth from the absolute good. It comes from the body of the Christ, and that store of good can never be depleted, for it is infinite, it is limitless, it is omnipresent. Actually it is your food and clothing; it is beauty and life itself. It is the raw material of everything and it is the finished product.

We say, I bought shoes, so I cannot have a new dress or a trip out of town.” But really the shoes and the new dress and the trip out of town all come froth from the invisible absolute good, and this good can never be depleted. The shoes do not infringe upon the dress, nor the dress does not subtract from the trip.

You yourself are the only thing there is. You can’t and don’t gain anything. You can’t and don’t lose anything. Loss is hypnosis. Knowing the Truth does not add anything to your being. You are the All whether you know it or not, but as much as you perceive of this, you bring into your practical experience. The Truth we know works like yeast; it is alive. In fact Jesus called it leaven. We do not have to know how it works, or even to know that it works. If is life and it brings forth after its kind.

Spiritual Leaders And Their Lies

This is an excerpt from my second book Sounds Of The Trumpet

Life Is A Playground Not A Learning School

Perhaps you have heard the theory, widely accepted by many metaphysicians, that misfortunes haunt our lives to teach us a valuable lesson, and once that lesson is learned the misfortune departs. False notions such as this one have encouraged “spiritual leaders” to perpetuate the great lie that earth is a huge classroom with multitudes of brutal lessons preparing us for ease of living somewhere else – at another time.

There’s Something Better Than Overcoming Problems

There is a well-known religion that takes great pride in how their members and believers use Truth, solely and very effectively to overcome every type of physical malady known to man. This is fine, but there is a higher view. From the peaks of Mt. Absolute, you can see that the highest testimony to the Omnipresence and Omnipotence of God is not in overcoming problems, but in having no problems to overcome, to literally go from one glorious experience to the next glorious experience in this infinite universe of illimitable glories. Isn’t this a better testimony to the fact that GOD IS ALL?

Your Assurance Of Uninterrupted Glorious Living Is The Allness Of God

Is it possible to actually live from glory to glory? This questions can be answered simply: IF IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO LIVE FROM GLORY TO GLORY, THEN GOD IS NOT ALL. IF IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO LIVE FROM GLORY TO GLORY, THEN GOD IS NOT THE ONLY PRESENCE AND THE ONLY POWER. But you and I know with unshakable certainty that GOD IS ALL.

Empowering Truths From Ms. Gephart

Truth-2

Because Gertrude Gephart’s writings are tinged with dualism, I seldom quote her. However, as you can see for yourself, her writings are undoubtedly inspirational. Below are some excerpts from her book “The Way Of Life.” I have emphasized noteworthy statements.

If we look upon appearances and accept them, we are bearing false witness. The human self, as we see it, is not real at all. Jesus was continually admonishing his disciples to deny themselves. When enlightenment came to Gautama Buddha, he said, “The self (that is the human concept) does not exist. Truth (the Great Self) is all.”

If we can see that as a limited human identity, we do not exist, we can see that we and all are Truth, and this is bearing true witness.

We do not need to blame ourselves for our mishaps either. How shall we think, then? That the mishaps and misfortunes are not real nor actual, but right where they seem to be, right there is the presence of absolute good.

Mr. Rawson would tell us to describe the kingdom of heaven to ourselves, and to know that it is where our fears seem to be. Your misfortunes have no history at all. At any moment they can be healed instantly and perfectly, now matter what the seeming cause or history.

We only have to know the Truth. We do not have to get behind it to make it operate; it does not have to be stimulated or insisted upon. There is an expression in the Sanscrit – “by mere knowledge”, all demonstration is by mere knowledge.

If you added a column of figures incorrectly, you could change the result by mere knowledge. So we correct our experience by the knowledge that the Self is all.

We deal only with the Lord and not with people. One who has not had some experience in the power of understanding to correct one’s life would never dream what this one piece of information will do for him.

If one were buying a garment from a salesman in a great department store, he would seem to be dealing with the salesman. But if the garment were unsatisfactory, or if the salesman had misrepresented it, he would go higher than the salesman. He would remember that he was dealing with the owner of the store.

We must remember that we are dealing always, and only, with the Lord. When we remember this, we lose our fear of people, of competition, of unemployment.

Pills, Reiki, God And Healing

blogpost

The Question

Question: “Allen, since God Is All, isn’t God medicine, surgery, Reiki, etc.?”

A Quick Contemplation

At least the questioner starts on a firm foundation: God Is All. Let’s go one step further. What God Is, is all that there is. God Is Perfection; therefore, Perfection Is All there is. Reader, just take a moment to contemplate the Allness of Perfection.

Don’t judge by appearances. Do just what the questioner did. Start your “reasoning” from the Allness of God – but stay there. Have you concluded that Perfection is equally present and everywhere present? Do you see that nothing else exists but Omnipresent Perfection?

What Do You Believe?

Pills, potions, surgery, Reiki and all the other healing modalities — aren’t they based on the premise that there are pockets of imperfection in God’s Allness? Aren’t they based on the assumption (and appearance) that Omnipresent Perfection has lapsed into imperfection? Reader, don’t merely read these questions, answer them. Then answer this question: Do you believe that Omnipresent Perfection (God) can become imperfect?

Spiritual Healing Is Different Because Of The Starting Point

The Book of Habakkuk (Holy Bible) states that God’s eyes are too pure to see evil. Paraphrase: God doesn’t know anything about disease and therefore doesn’t know anything about healing disease. Yet, you and I know that people have appeared to be healed by spiritual means only. I personally know of cases where people have been healed of:

  • blindness
  • cancer
  • AIDS
  • broken bones
  • hearing loss
  • hair loss
  • mental retardation
  • etc.

Yet these so-called healings weren’t like the healings (or patch jobs) that result from surgery, pill popping, Reiki and other healing modalities. Here’s the difference. Surgery, Reiki, and you name the pill start with the disease as a reality and then attempt to eliminate it. In cases of so-called incurable diseases, it’s often an uphill, losing battle.

In so-called “spiritual healing”, the person (or Practitioner) starts with God’s Allness as the reality and sickness as the lie. The person then sets her attention on getting a clearer awareness of God’s Allness. When God reveals Itself to be all there is of the Body, the Perfection that God Is shows forth as what many would call “a healing”.

Importantly, the person knows the so-called healing to be God’s Perfection revealed and evidenced.

Have Fun Selling The Easy Way

Tips-and-Tricks-to-Sell-Your-Home1

Selling Things Is A Legitimate Activity

Are you in the business of selling homes? Are you an author selling books? Are you an oil-painter selling artwork? If you are a salesperson, this article is for you. If you, reader, are involved in sales, the first thing you should consider is this: WHAT APPEARS TO BE MY “SELLING” OF THIS PRODUCT IS A LEGITIMATE ACTIVITY, BECAUSE A SPIRITUAL PRINCIPLE UNDERGIRDS THIS PRODUCT.

Reader, you do not have to know what the spiritual principle is. All you have to know is that the product you are selling is intended to help and not harm.

Selling Will Be Difficult If You Believe These Lies

If the selling is legitimate, what is not legitimate is the worry and flurry of the selling process. Underlying the worry and flurry is the delusion of dualism. The scourge of the salesman is the delusion that the product, the buyer, and the seller are separated by time and space.

The main thing you, the salesperson, need to know is this: THE PRODUCT, THE SELLER AND THE BUYER IS ONE – THE SAME ONE.

Clancy Parker is a realtor. Two days ago he listed a home and now is on the prowl for a buyer. Judging by appearances, the home, the seller and the buyer are separate entities. Furthermore, this appearance of separation is underscored by the separation of time and space. These are lies.

Oneness And Sales

THERE IS ONLY ONE INDIVISIBLE PRESENCE AND POWER. God – the One Infinite and Indivisible Presence is the Presence of the home, the seller and the buyer. Their name is I AM. This translates to one infallible conclusion: they are ONE NOW and are not separated by either time or space.

Clancy, working from this premise, relieves himself from the worry of finding a buyer. He stays aware of the Oneness of Existence, and the perfect buyer effortlessly manifests. It’s magic, or is it?

Understand This And Your Sales Will Soar

What happens when the home is sold? What is really going on? GOD IS THE LAW OF FULFILLMENT. Simply put, nothing is sitting around waiting to be used and enjoyed. There are no vacuums in the universe. A home and its occupant IS ONE. The author’s book and the buyer IS ONE. The home never appears without the occupant. They are concurrently ONE. THIS IS THE REALITY – NOW AND ALWAYS.

When one appears to “sell” a home via spiritual insight, she has merely caught the vision of what has already taken place. (Reader, this one statement begs for contemplation. There are diamond ideas waiting to be revealed.)

Yes, spiritual insight catches up to reality, and the catching up may look like the realtor finds the right buyer who thinks the home is the answer to a prayer. They go to settlement, and everyone lives happily ever after. That’s how spiritual insight often fleshes out. BUT THE FLESHING OUT IS ALWAYS MILES BEHIND WHAT HAS ALREADY TAKEN PLACE.

It Even Works For Job Hunting

What has just been written is applicable for the so-called selling of any product – even for job-hunting. The job-hunter, the employer, and the perfect employment IS ONE – NOW. In the Prayer Project, I share the testimony of how this Truth has saved me from the heart-sinking frustration of job hunting.

To sum it all up, there is just ONE INFINITE INDIVISIBLE PRESENCE, and YOU ARE IT.

Your Doing Is Perfection’s Doing

Solar-System-2

Did I Mislead Anyone?

In a recent post (You Are Powerful…), a reader responded with these words:

“I’d like to offer this for consideration. Infinite Omnipresence doesn’t actually “do”. Nothing can be added to already infinite perfection. The analogy of God maintaining the orbits of planets is more likely as not tending to encourage the view of separate things being governed by God. Doing is as outdated and obsolete as “in” or “becoming”.

When I posted that excerpt from God Is All, I did not intend to lead anyone into the ditch of dualism. I did make the false assumption that readers of that post (most anyway) had already read God Is All and understood that God, the one inseparable presence and power, is all there is of the planets.

God Is Always Doing

Moving on. Should we ditch the word “do”? Not yet! One definition of the word “do” is to be active. God is not only active, but is Activity Itself. This entire universe is alive as the activity (the doingness) of God. The entire universe. This means your Being/Body is the doingness of God. The so-called planets in orbit are the doingness of God.

It is true that God is not doing in the sense of bringing about something, but God is busy in the scintillating and shimmering Activity of Being Itself – Being Itself as Your Self. In the visual experience of illumination, you literally see God’s Doingness (Activity).

Is God Doing the Hurricanes and Avalanches?

No is the short answer. The long answer is God’s doingness is always consistent with God’s nature which is Infinite Indivisibility – LOVE. To be active as violent hurricanes and avalanches, God would have to be self-destructive.

Reader, answer this question: Is destruction Love in action? Then no seemingly destructive activity is the activity of God. Then, what is it? NOTHING.

Are you thinking, “Allen, you can’t really mean that?” Yes, I do. There are many reports on record of praying people who have seemingly stopped hurricanes, typhoons, and tornadoes in their deadly tracks. Explaining how they prayed, they report something like “I just realized only God was present, only God was power. Note the word only. It immediately cancels out the presence and power of hurricanes and the like. The word only immediately reveals them to be NO THING.

God’s Activity in Daily Living

Each morning, remind yourself that you ARE Perfection’s Infinite, Indivisible Activity. Don’t be selfish. Know that everyone (and everything) you see is Perfection’s Infinite, Indivisible Activity – God’s Doingness.

Reader, how can you possibly run into discord and inharmony when you know that ALL ACTIVITY IS THE ONE INDIVISIBLE PRESENCE IN ACTION. With these daily reminders, you have to report that your life seems to be running as smoothly as a well-oiled machine.

In the next post, we will take God’s activity into the business arena.

It’s Fixed (I Don’t Know What Happened)

A reader alerted me to the fact that the Donation link wasn’t working and hasn’t worked in awhile.

After days of back and forth with WordPress, it’s working again — but, for now, only on the link of the most recent post.

The Immediate Supply For Your Seeming Need

wealth

This excerpt is by Marie Watts from The Ultimate

When once the infinite Omnipresence of Wealth is revealed, there can be no lack, limitation, or poverty. It is from this awareness of what constitutes wealth that the immediate supply for any seeming need is realized.

Wealth is Consciousness YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS FORMED. It makes no difference what aspect of wealth is the necessity of the moment, whether it is for health, home, money or whatever, your Omnipresent Consciousness can, and does form Itself into that which meets the need .

You can see from this that there is no such thing as a need. How can you need anything that is forever contained within your completeness? There is no separation between the essential and the supply; and there is no separation between the essential and the manifestation of the supply formed into whatever is essential.
