Are These Your Questions Too?

handwritten letter

About seven weeks ago, Trevor, a reader of Absolutely Yours, sent me the perfect email – perfect because in one email he asks many questions that people have asked over the years. Because I wanted to thoroughly address the questions Trevor asked, without being too wordy, it has taken many weeks to respond to his communication. Below is Trevor’s email.

I do enjoy your blogs – Perhaps it is easy to write about Truth, but what you write about is it your experience or just pretty thoughts? Take your blog for instance “Escaping The Dream of Human Existence.”
Questions:

  • Do I have a mind that is aware of a material or human existence? You must believe in this mind otherwise you would not write blogs. You believe there is an audience that can be reached … you get my drift.
  • So many Truth writers there are, but, do they practice what they preach?
  • What is your purpose?

I know that we seem to be in a world of form but need not be of it where God sends His Teachers. Not that they are part of it but for a moment leave the Light and enter the darkness to show forth the Light.

Peace and Love,
Trevor

To make the answers to Trevor’s questions clear to you, I decided to approach them in sections that address most of Trevor’s questions.

Is what I write my experience, or just pretty thoughts?

In my early years as a minister, I made the decision not to preach anything that I have not experienced to some degree. When I write or teach about instantaneous healing, it’s because I have experienced it myself. When I write about taking no human action to find employment, it’s because that’s how I found employment. When I write about seeing the Body of Light, or hearing the Music of the Spheres, it’s because that’s what I saw and heard.

Most of the Truth writers I know are writing from their experiences. More importantly, most of the Truth writers I know have withheld writing about experiences that totally defy what the so-called intellect deems possible. Pretty thoughts and well-crafted words without genuine experience are pointless.

Reader, this is the most important thing. Through prayer, continue to explore the Allness of God. Do not be deterred! The experiences that reveal themselves will never frighten you. They will astound you.

You must believe in this mind otherwise you would not write blogs. You must believe an audience can be reached.

A Practitioner who takes calls from those who seem to be dealing with tumors, growths, and other bodily troubles does not respond to the caller because she believes that these troubles exist and can be healed. She doesn’t even acknowledge the reality of an identity or body that could possibly experience these troubles.

Similarly, I don’t write blogs because I believe in a human mind that can be helped, but because I know (despite convincing suggestions otherwise) that there is only One Mind.

Trevor, I write Truth because, as Truth is All, what else is there to write? I speak Truth because, as Truth is All, what else is there to speak?

I could write long discourses about the circus-like machinations of the American political scene, but it would be a lie. I could write about the health benefits of tea made from the carcasses of dung beetles, but that too would be a lie. Writing about anything other than Truth is wasted paper, ink and pixels.

As far as that audience to reach. I wish I believed there was one; then I would actively market this blog. Years ago I wrote a post (don’t know if it transferred to Absolutely Yours) for performers – how they can be more effective performers. It was based on my years and “struggles” performing as a classical pianist.

In a nutshell: Know that you and the so-called audience IS ONE – not two. That’s the mindset that I write these posts. It’s the only possible way.

I always open my lectures with these words. “Do not look up to the speaker. I, the speaker, and you, the listener, IS ONE MIND. You are both the speaker and the listener. Even when you read the words of Christ Jesus, know that they are the words of ‘your’ Mind.” This is true of the books and posts that I write.

Do the Truth writers practice what they preach?

In short, yes. But let me open the curtain so that you can peek in on the process.

It all starts when the writer experiences some form of Illumination. This is when he has a momentary experience of existence as it IS – as spiritual Form and Substance. Usually this is a Light-filled experience. The body, plants, buildings, etc., are literally seen as spiritual Form. Words cannot adequately describe this experience.

Although the experience only lasts for seconds before the writer seems to slip back into a seeming material world, he knows that he will never again be deceived by the appearance of a material world.

The Truth writer writes from this point of reality. He lives from this point of reality.

In these high times, so-called miracles are experienced. The chains of time and space are broken, and a person may find himself being there without having to travel there.

Sometimes these experiences appear as “heavenly helpers,” when human help is not available. But, Trevor, you do get my drift. Great stuff happens.

What is your purpose?

Trevor, I’m glad you asked about my purpose, because at one time I was confused. Early on, long before I wrote God Is All, I wrote for a spiritual journal expressly for the purpose of enlightening the readers. (A lot of minds going on here, and mine was ego driven.)

Once I realized God to be the only Mind – the Mind that is both reader and writer, everything changed. As stated, I write (hopefully no more books) because only Truth is worth writing.

There was no intention of writing God Is All (the first book). One night I was just about pulled out of bed and dragged to the computer. I started writing, but it was more like I was taking dictation. I didn’t think the words. I just wrote the words that came. The book was finished in three (3) weeks.

The file sat in my computer for several years. I had completely forgotten about it. One day a friend was “playing” on the computer and found the file. He said, “Allen, what’s this? It’s really good. Did you write this? You should publish it.”

I did and God Is All has been reaching readers all over the world for over twenty years.

My purpose is BEING.

I know we live in a world of form.

Form is real. The way we seem to see Form is not real. That’s the simple Truth. Two people could be sitting in the same room – one seeing Form as it really is.

The person really seeing would see the same books, tables, chairs and bric-a-brac as the other person. The only difference, these Forms would not have density or solidity. Think of a rainbow. It has shape, but there is no solidity or density. This is how Form actually appears (or the best way words can describe it).

The thing to get is that FORM IS REAL. There is nothing material about FORM.

Lesson On Eternal Life From A Child

Out Of The Mouths Of Babes – A Request For Eternal Life

In a not-too-recent “Dear Amy” column, a five-year old asked her grandmother if she was going to get real old. The grandmother told the young girl, “We all get old … that’s why we have birthdays.” The little girl broke down crying saying to her grandmother, “I don’t want you to die. Please promise me you will have no more birthdays.”

This little girl wanted her granny to live forever. I believe we all have that wish for our loved ones (and ourselves). This little girl probably had no idea of the spiritual significance of her request. She probably didn’t realize that birthdays are handcuffed to deathdays.

Away With Birthdays And Deathdays

Get rid of birthdays and away go the deathdays. Get rid of birthdays and deathdays, and what are you left with? ETERNAL LIFE – real LIFE. You’re left with God. This is the secret to living forever – not as aging flesh, but as ageless Spirit.

Reader, you inherently know that God is Life, and you know that this Life is your Life right this very moment. Inherently, you know that this Life is birthless and deathless.

The Resurrection – A Lesson On Eternal Life

Easter, the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection, is on the horizon. Christ Jesus’ resurrection was possible for one reason only: His realization of the birthless, therefore deathless, nature of the Life that comprised His Body. Read His words, “Before Abraham was, I AM.”

Reader, answer these two questions:

  • Do you think that your Body is made of a different Substance than the Body of Christ Jesus?
  • Is there more than one Substance?

Here are the back-of-the-book answers to these questions:

  • Your Body is constituted of the exact same Substance as the Body of Christ.
  • There is only one Substance: “For of him, to him, and through him are all things …”

Because Christ knew the eternal nature of His Body, He did not resist the cross. Life has no beginning and no ending. When the full realization of the eternal nature of your Body is realized, you will know that its Life cannot be crossed out by any seeming threat.

The Practical Application

If it appears that your Body, or the Body of a loved one, is in the terrifying grips of some life-threatening disease, don’t believe it. If it appears as though your Body is sliding toward the grave or the urn, put the brakes on NOW.

First, accept that Life – all Life (even that of your Body) – is birthless, deathless, timeless and ageless. This is easier when you remind yourself that Life and God are one and the same.

Next, soak your Body in a warm contemplation of its Eternal nature. Bring every aspect of your Body into this contemplation: hair, teeth, bones, organs, etc. After all, those are just material names for spiritual forms.

Take this soak every day for a week or two. Believe me, there’s nothing like a good soak in Eternal Life.

You Are Invited To Participate

It’s been years since Absolutely Yours has called for an “All-Hands-On-Deck” project. I think that now is a good time to invite you (and every other reader) to participate in this 30-Day I-Am-Already-Enlightened Prayer Project.

The Foundation Of This Project

Reader, you are sincere about God being All. You are sincere about honoring your God Identity, and you are sincere about experiencing the kingdom of heaven now (in this lifetime). If these are false assumptions about yourself, stop reading this post.

If you made it to this sentence, I can safely assume that you frequently contemplate God’s Allness. Perhaps you sit in short (or long) periods of silence listening for the “still small voice.” This is good, but this “Project” is going to tweak what you are already doing. Read on!

Starting With God’s Allness

Starting from God’s Allness as your base point, you have to agree that God is the only Mind or Awareness. And, don’t you agree that this Mind is not seeking more Light, but is the Light Itself? Aren’t you included in this Awareness? Let me rephrase that. Isn’t this infinite, omnipresent Awareness, that is Light Itself, the very I that you are? Please answer me.

The Inevitable Conclusion

This means that right now – right as you read this post, you are totally and completely enlightened. You are not a seeker after the Light, but rather, you are the Light Itself. Reader, if you were not completely enlightened (or illumined) right now, God would not be All.

Before we get to the “Project,” there’s one more question. Do you contemplate Truth and sit in silences hoping to be more enlightened? Do you hope for Illumination? It’s okay if your answer is “yes,” but you must be aware of the implications.

Hoping for more enlightenment and Illumination is starting from the false premise that you are a seeker after the Light rather than the Light Itself. Reader, nothing good can come from a false premise. It’s time to get back on track. I promise you that nothing but good can come from this “Project.”

Starting The Prayer Project With The Tweak

Starting on February 1, I am asking you (and all readers) to contemplate the following idea (not necessarily the exact words) for 30 days.

As God is All, and all that I AM, I am totally illumined and enlightened right now and always. I am the Light Itself. I am Illumination Itself. I AM the full understanding of Truth, for I am Truth Itself.

Feel free to change the words to suit what works for you, but keep the same basic ideas. Follow this with a period of silence – [here’s The Tweak] not seeking the Light, but being the Light. Let your Consciousness surge and soar as Infinite Awareness.

The Challenge goes through March 1, 2016. After the 30 days are over, please write and let me know about your experience.

The Way Out of Grief, Sadness, and Depression

smile happy looks good on you

Grief Is Unbearable Because …

Somehow the subject of death popped up in the conversation. Responding to the man sitting next to me, I said, “Should a loved one appear to die, the first thing I’d do is call a Practitioner.” A woman sitting at the other end of the table said, “It’s a little late for that, isn’t it?” Without a moment’s hesitation I said, “No! The seeming loss is bad enough, but the grief would be unbearable.”

Grief is unbearable because it is not a natural state of Mind (God). Mind’s natural state is unfettered revelry in Its unchallenged and unopposed Allness.

Reader, answer these questions:

  • Can you steadfastly be aware of Perfection’s unopposed Allness and entertain one moment of grief?
  • Can you bask in the awareness of Love’s boundless Allness and be sad?
  • Is it possible for you to dwell in the awareness of uninterrupted Completeness and be depressed?

Your Mind’s Natural State

Mind, the Mind you are, is this constant awareness of Perfection, Love and Completeness. This is “your” Mind’s natural state. Connect the dots and you clearly behold this fact: Joy is the natural state of the Mind that you are.

The bleak greyness of grief is like a millstone around the neck of joy, drowning it in a sea of sadness. And, sometimes the pull of grief seems inescapable. Many people ask, “Allen, don’t you think there are times when grief is justified? After all, even psychologists talk about the stages of grief.”

What Do The Psychologists Know

Reader, perhaps you have asked the same question. But ask yourself this, “What mind are the psychologists talking about? Aren’t they talking about a mind that is conditioned by appearances and the drama of human experience? Are they knowing the Unconditioned Mind that is God?” Again, connect the dots: If psychologists are not talking about the Mind that is God, are they talking about any mind at all?

In the stillness of prayer, you have known times when you experienced a realization of God’s Allness. You experienced a deep peace, didn’t you? And there was joy too, wasn’t there? Many times you experienced one or both. Peace (and/or joy) always accompanies revelation.

Reader, have you ever realized God’s Allness and experienced sadness? How about grief? I’m sure your answer is “No!” Why not? Because peace and joy are natural states of Mind. Sadness and grief are not.

This Always Works For Me (It’ll Work For You)

Whenever I’m feeling a little down (which is not that often), I do this one thing and it always works. I pray. My prayer is just for greater realization of the I AM that I AM. I’m not praying to feel better. I’m praying for a grander realization.

If the first prayer doesn’t reveal the I AM, I pray again. I repeat this every fifteen minutes until I realize more of this I AM Presence. At some point Truth is revealed. God is experienced. A joy takes over my entire being, and I realize I am Joy.

After the first time I did this, I understood the full implication of the experience. I understood that Joy is the natural state of Mind. I perceived that sadness, depression, and grief are unnatural (unreal) states of Mind.

Don’t Do It

Reader, don’t accept grief. Don’t accept depression. Don’t accept sadness. JOY IS YOUR NATURAL STATE OF MIND AND YOUR NATURAL WAY OF BEING.

It’s Not Coming … It’s Already Here

earth heat logo

Please Do This

To get the full impact of this short post, pause and look around you. If you can, go to a nearby window and look outside. Look at the world.

This world that you see is the very world where God is All. Now, I am asking that you say (aloud), “This right here is the world where God is the only Presence and the Only Power. This world right here is the Allness of God.” Trust me, there is a method to my madness.

There Are No Buts In God’s Allness

Reader, here’s why I asked you to do this. With heartfelt sincerity people often profess, “I know that God is the only Presence, but ….” It’s the “but” that betrays their belief that either there is another world (and usually they’re in it) where God is not All, or that in this world there is another presence and power other than God.

There is no other world!

What A Wonderful World

The world that you see, right now, is the only world there is. It is the world where God Is All. This is the world that is constituted of Love and Perfection.

Despite the appearances of wars, violent hatred and shortages, this is the One World – the literal Kingdom of Heaven. It may look like a world of matter, but it is not. It may seem as though the world is going to hell in a gasoline basket, but it’s not. It may appear as though material laws hold sway. They don’t.

In this world, God is both the seer and the seen. Contemplate this fact. As my mother used to say, “It will do you a world of good.” For the next seven days, contemplate all of the Truths in this article. The revelations and experiences that come forth will be WONDERFUL.

Don’t Worry – Wonderful Things Are Happening

Don't Worry Wonderful Things Are Happening

Can You Turn Worry Off Like A Faucet?

A few weeks ago, I was talking to my mother about worry. The thing she worried about kept her up all night. “Just stop worrying about it,” I told her, but she couldn’t. At least that’s what she said. She worried herself right into the doctor’s office.

“Mom, you can choose not to worry,” I said. She replied that you can’t turn worry on and off like a faucet: “Allen, you can’t stop worrying by saying you’re not going to worry.”

I thought about it. I asked myself, “Can you really stop worrying about it (whatever it is) just by making a choice not to worry? Is it easier said than done?”

What Has Worry Solved

Reader, have you ever known worry to solve a problem? Did worry about that upcoming medical procedure heal your body such that the procedure was unnecessary? Did worry about the falling stock market alter its course? Did worry about your child’s drinking problem make him put the bottle down? I have worried, but I can’t think of any good it did. WORRY SOLVES NOTHING. That’s your first incentive to STOP WORRYING.

Getting To The Root Of Worry

Now, let’s zoom in on this thing called worry. If you are going to be done with worry, you have to take the axe to its root. Close to the root of worry is fear. All worry is based on fear that something bad is happening, or is going to happen, in the foreseeable future.

Something bad is going to happen. Read that sentence again. Yep, after the second reading you realized that the root of worry is DUALISM – that something is going on (or can go on) other than the Presence and Power of God.

Face it. In the entire worry scenario, God is nowhere to be found. Totally absent. First, the person worrying imagines she is something other than the One Presence and Power that, last week, she said was All. Piling kitty poo on top of dog poo, the worrier Admits that the “it” that might happen is Not the Presence and Power of God. Where is God? Nowhere.

Reader, can you see that worry is inevitable if God is omniabsent? But there’s hope. There is Truth.

Your Reason To Stop Worrying — Wonderful Things Are Happening

Thinking about Mom, and her seeming tendency to worry, brought an old sermon to mind: “Wonderful Things Are Happening.” It’s a sermon I delivered based on a story told by the famed Christian Science lecturer Dorothy Reike.

Here’s the short. A woman beset by problems made this decision. “Regardless of what seems to come up in my life, instead of worrying, I am going to rejoice that wonderful things are taking place.”

It sounds Pollyannaish, I know. But follow her line of reasoning. “Because God is All, and All that can express Itself, the results have to be wonderful.” Reader, you have already agreed with me that worry (based on God’s omniabsence) solves nothing. But look what rejoicing does. This woman was healed of cancer. Her failing business turned around to amazing success, and her son was protected from harm.

Yes, it is possible to stop worrying, but you need a solid reason to not worry. God’s Allness is that reason. God’s Allness is your foundation for not worrying about “it”. To stop worrying requires that your vision is placed on God and not “it”. There is no “it” in God, and no God in “it”.

Reader, why don’t you make a decision right now that you are not going to worry about “it”. Instead, because God is All, REJOICE THAT WONDERFUL THINGS ARE HAPPENING.

The Most Popular Mind Games — Have You Played Any?

GAMES

Yes, it’s true. There is just one Presence, and this Presence is Existence itself. But more than that, reader, YOU ARE THIS PRESENCE.

This one Presence is Intelligence. It is Awareness. It is, as we say, Mind. Mind, being God, is Existence. To make sure we are on the same page of the same book, I’m going to rephrase what has just been written: The one Presence (You) does not have a mind. It is Mind. Did something click? Did you say to yourself, “I get it! I don’t have a mind. I Am Mind.”? Now we are on the same page, and we can have some fun.

We are going to play some Mind games. I did not invent these games. It seems that many people have played them for thousands of years. There are no special purchases, but there are some essentials. To play these Mind games you will have to pretend that God is not All. You’ll have to pretend there is not one Presence – not one Mind. These games are like solitaire. You don’t need a partner to play. Let the games begin.

[Game 1] I Don’t Know Enough Truth

This is a popular game among the dedicated and sincere. In this game you have to have a problem – a serious problem. To win, you have to convince yourself that you have a personal mind that is not the One Mind. Then, you have to convince yourself that the mind you have does not know enough Truth to “handle” your problem. However, there is someone else (a Practitioner, author, or guru) with another mind that does know enough Truth to handle your case.

[Game 2] I Wish I Were As Enlightened As _______

Fill in the blank with any name you choose. To jumpstart the game, I’m giving you a few names you could put in the blank:

  • Jesus Christ
  • Mary Baker Eddy
  • Joel Goldsmith
  • Henrik DeLange
  • Alfred Aiken
  • your “spiritual leader”

How many minds are on this list? How about your list? Each of these minds seems to have a little more or less light than the other. But more than that, they all have more light than you. The only way this game can be won is that you always have to be the spiritual dimwit – a dimmer light than everyone on your list.

[Game 3] The Closed Class Game

This game is awesome. Not just for its unbridled dualism, but also for its self-aggrandizing pomposity.

When I am invited to give a lecture, a small group of people ask me to give a “closed class”. A closed class is for the (please don’t gag) “advanced students”. When someone asks me this, it implies “I and a few others are a tad higher in Consciousness than the rest. Will you have a class just for us?”

My answer has always been “No!” Reader, I’m going to spend a little more time discussing this game.

To play this game, you have to imagine God (the Infinite, Indivisible All) to be divided into levels of Itself. Then, you have to imagine that there are others out there on a lower level than you. Do you see any difference between this game and racial prejudice, gender discrimination, and other social ills based on supposed differences?

This is a dangerous game. PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

[Game 4] I Can’t Wait Until I Am Enlightened

I remember the joys and thrills I got from playing this game. It’s a game of self-deception. This is the only physically challenging game on the list. To play it well, you are constantly reaching up and over your shoulder to give yourself congratulatory pats on the back for “really” wanting to know God.

You will hear players of this game saying, “Every day I sit in the silence contemplating God’s Presence and Power. I never miss. I can’t wait until I experience my first revelation (or illumination).”

To play this game well enough to win, you have to start with the belief that there is a mind (not Mind) that is presently unenlightened. However, with enough sincerity, dedication, and silent moments, this mind will one day become enlightened. It’s all a crap shoot. It may happen, but most often, it doesn’t.

Again, reader, you are Mind. You are the very presence of Illumination. But, you have to sacrifice this fact to play the games. How long you play any of these games is up to you. “You are the light of the world.”

You May Need To Flip It — Here’s How

back_flip

Do You Begin Your Contemplations Like Dorinda?

Every morning, and most evenings, Dorinda picks a book from the “spiritual” section of her bookcase. She opens the book to a random page and starts reading. She reads until she reaches a passage that stirs something in her. Dorinda reads this passage over and over, savoring every idea in it. Then, she closes her eyes and contemplates.

Dorinda says that the reading inspires her prayers and contemplations. She says the books anchor her prayers in spiritual principle, and keeps her mind from wandering aimlessly through a maze of insane thoughts. “But,” Dorinda says, “I don’t always reach for a book. Sometimes I listen to a tape or some audio file stored on my computer.”

You Are Already As Enlightened As Christ Jesus

This is how many people begin their contemplations, and I will not criticize. For many years I did the same thing. Reader, if you begin your contemplations like Dorinda, do you ever ask yourself, “When am I going to be as enlightened as the authors I am reading?” Do you feel like you are creeping closer to enlightenment, but never getting there?

The Truth is you are already as enlightened as any author you have ever read – even as enlightened as Christ Jesus. But, to experience this Fact, I am suggesting one simple and powerful act: Flip It. (I’ll explain later.)

Your Consciousness Is Enough

Stop thinking that you have to reach outside of yourself for inspiration to start your contemplations. Your Consciousness is enough. No, you don’t have a personal Consciousness separate from the One Infinite Consciousness, but the Consciousness you have and ARE is enough. Trust it to be.

Reader, you don’t need to pick up a book from the night stand or turn on a tape to jumpstart Consciousness. Your Consciousness is not a car battery. It is Infinite, Constant Awareness. Start relying on your Self completely. Prove to your Self that It is ALL SUPPLYING FULFILLMENT. Prove to your Self that It is the inspiration you seem to need. Prove to your Self that your Consciousness is all the motivation you seem to need.

You know, like I know, that one day we have to stop reaching outside of ourselves for any kind of “help”. Why wait for that day? The help you seem to need is in you as ever-present fulfillment.

Here’s How To Flip It

Earlier, I suggested that you Flip It. Here’s how. You simply contemplate first, and read last – if you still feel the need to read. At first this may seem awkward. You close your eyes and it feels like you’re watching a blank screen waiting for a movie that never starts. You wait, and wait. Nothing happens. A thought may flash across your mind like, “Allen is crazy.” Then you reach for the nearest book. STOP! Put the book down. Give your Self a chance!

Close your eyes again (if closing eyes is what you do) and reason this way, “Since there is only one Mind, one Consciousness, one Awareness, then the Awareness of the author and my Awareness IS one. The Truth that’s in the book is already present as my Awareness.”

Now settle back into your contemplation and watch how Truth effortlessly flows like a gurgling brook. Try this for two weeks. Even if you seem to have a rough start, most likely you’ll never go back to reading first. And you will see that “your” Consciousness is more than enough.

Contemplation Matters For These Reasons

viewing-art-museum-of-modern-art

Contemplating At The Museum

Someone asked me, “Allen, what is contemplation?”

The sibling question is “Why contemplate?” If the reason for contemplation isn’t fully understood, the what’s and how’s don’t matter. Spiritual contemplation is a calm inner looking at the Allness of God. It is Mind (God) beholding Itself. Contemplation is similar to the quiet, often uplifting, viewing of a great piece of museum artwork.

You’ve, no doubt, been to a museum and gazed at a piece of artwork. You observed the sweep of the curves, the colors, and the shading. As you continued gazing at the picture, you thought about the images in the picture. You noticed things. Without any conscious effort, thought followed thought. You saw new things you didn’t see moments before. More thoughts flowed. This is contemplation.

Take note. You were not trying to get anything out of this contemplation. You were not using it for anything. Not once did you think, “When I’m through looking at this, I hope my life gets better.”

You didn’t try to control the experience, did you? Most likely, wherever your eyes landed on the canvas, you simply basked in the beauty. You did not try to control the experience. And you certainly didn’t try to change the artwork. You merely observed and enjoyed.

Contemplation’s River Of Ideas

This leads to the first point. Spiritual contemplation is a joy-filled experience. Spiritual contemplation is just “observing” the facts of God’s Allness – or some aspect of it. For example, you may find yourself contemplating the fact that, “I and the Father are one, and not two.”

As you “observe” this Truth, Consciousness reveals that there is no separation of time and space between you and God. The flow of ideas further reveals that there is no God and you. Ideas will continue to flow leading to the awareness that there is just I Am – no you, and no God. Somewhere in your “observation”, you will see that you are not a seeker of Truth, but Truth Itself. There is no such thing as what you should see in contemplation. There are no should’s in this observation. Ultimately, this experience is Mind beholding Itself, and its activity is Self-directed. It will always lead to a place of silence where there is knowing without the unnecessary weight of words.

When you gaze at a masterpiece, contemplating its beauty, what you see at one viewing will not be the same thing you see at another viewing. That’s how it is when you contemplate Truth. There’s always something new to see (perceive).

Spiritual Contemplation Brings Your Attention Back To What Is

Why contemplate? As mentioned in the “Prayer Project”, all day long you and I seem to see and sense things that are NOT the Allness of God. You may seem to see a fight in the workplace. You may seem to see a sick person, a homeless person, animal abuse. If you are a news watcher, there’s no telling what hellacious pictures you’ll see.

When we see these things we tend to think about them over and over again. This, too, is contemplation, but how does it make you feel to continually think – contemplate – these lies about the Allness of God? This kind of contemplation is the illusory activity of a mind that seems to exist but doesn’t.

Spiritual contemplation brings our attention back to what IS. It has to. It is ISNESS beholding Itself. When contemplation of God’s Allness is just a quiet consideration of Truth, your very soul smiles. You feel good.

Look Again – Things Aren’t What They Appear To Be

Contemplation is not an escape hatch from the seeming ugliness and messiness or daily living. And it’s a mistake to think that contemplation is impractical. Contemplation is the most practical thing you can do. Here are the benefits of contemplation:

  • Contemplation is effortless.
  • Contemplation is a hands-off affair.
  • Contemplation does not require mental or physical labor to be effective.

Right now you might be saying to yourself, “How is contemplation practical?” Do you remember when stereograms had their heyday? These are large pictures that look like small, misshapen blocks of color. At first glance, you think “Boring!” But the directions tell you to continue staring at the picture, and when you do, your eyes widen and your jaw drops. Now you see a beautiful landscape that rivals a masterpiece.

At first you only saw random chunks of color. You kept looking, and then you saw a magnificent landscape. The landscape was there all along, but you had to keep looking. No effort, no labor, and no planning were required of you to make that landscape. You just had to keep looking.

That’s how contemplation works. It’s all a matter of looking and seeing. Contemplation is Mind’s way of looking (seeing/perceiving) the world (Itself). Where the first glance seems to show a picture of lack and limitation, contemplation reveals a new picture of abundance and plenty.

Perhaps your Body seems to show a picture of weakness and disease. Contemplation of God’s Allness sharpens your view. Now you see (and experience) a Body brimming with health and vitality.

And no work was done. No getting in there to fix and repair. Thus we have a contemplative consideration of God’s Allness as All, revealing (showing forth) God to BE ALL.

Spiritual Leaders And Their Lies

This is an excerpt from my second book Sounds Of The Trumpet

Life Is A Playground Not A Learning School

Perhaps you have heard the theory, widely accepted by many metaphysicians, that misfortunes haunt our lives to teach us a valuable lesson, and once that lesson is learned the misfortune departs. False notions such as this one have encouraged “spiritual leaders” to perpetuate the great lie that earth is a huge classroom with multitudes of brutal lessons preparing us for ease of living somewhere else – at another time.

There’s Something Better Than Overcoming Problems

There is a well-known religion that takes great pride in how their members and believers use Truth, solely and very effectively to overcome every type of physical malady known to man. This is fine, but there is a higher view. From the peaks of Mt. Absolute, you can see that the highest testimony to the Omnipresence and Omnipotence of God is not in overcoming problems, but in having no problems to overcome, to literally go from one glorious experience to the next glorious experience in this infinite universe of illimitable glories. Isn’t this a better testimony to the fact that GOD IS ALL?

Your Assurance Of Uninterrupted Glorious Living Is The Allness Of God

Is it possible to actually live from glory to glory? This questions can be answered simply: IF IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO LIVE FROM GLORY TO GLORY, THEN GOD IS NOT ALL. IF IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO LIVE FROM GLORY TO GLORY, THEN GOD IS NOT THE ONLY PRESENCE AND THE ONLY POWER. But you and I know with unshakable certainty that GOD IS ALL.
