If You Start Right You End Right

God Is All

THE COSMIC STOREHOUSE OF INFINITE ENLIGHTENMENT

Do you remember that time when you were blind-sided by a beast of a problem, how you went into the silence anxiously reaching up and out for some healing Truth? This was supposed to be a time of peaceful receptivity to experience the knowingness of your Mind, but instead it was a strained struggle to get some Truth from an outer cosmic storehouse of Infinite Enlightenment.

START WRONG AND YOU END WRONG

It should be no surprise that the Truth you were hoping for was never realized. How could it be? The premise was flawed from the very start.

This inner reaching out to “get” Truth presupposes two minds – one that knows Truth and one that anxiously yearns to know Truth. This desperate reaching out assumes your mind is the mind that doesn’t know Truth right now, but, with enough reaching and anxious waiting, will possibly know Truth at some later time.

START RIGHT END RIGHT

There is only ONE MIND. YOU ARE THIS MIND RIGHT NOW. You don’t have this Mind. YOU ARE IT. You are already completely and fully illumined right this very moment. You are the Presence and Power of Illumined Consciousness.

WHY PRAY AT ALL?

So, what’s all this silent prayer about, and why bother? Have you ever relaxed on the beach of a tropical island and basked in the golden rays of sunlight? The sun was no more present on that beach than it was while you were shopping in the open-air market. Yet, you chose to take an hour or so to relax, bask and enjoy the sunlight.

Your ILLUMINED CONSCIOUSNESS is just as illumined while you are going about your daily business of working, parenting, spousing, and playing as it is when you are sitting still in silent prayer. Silent prayer is just a choice to enjoy the experience of your Infinite Awareness being Infinitely Aware.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

  • Instead of reaching out for Truth, relax into the Truth you seem to need to know.
  • Accept and acknowledge that you ARE living, loving Truth in action.
  • Know that you are just as enlightened when you are busy as when you are silently praying.

There’s Nothing Wrong With You

Why Does God Need So Much Help To Be God?

A lion is a lion. She doesn’t need to sit in silence for hours – even minutes – in order to roar. She doesn’t need to meditate and contemplate in order to claw her prey. A lion needs no assistance whatsoever in order to be a lion. And what of the lily and the lampstand? Neither do they have to do a single thing to be what they are.

Why does the game seem to change when it comes to God? God seems to need a lot of help to be God. God is supposedly the only presence, but this God seems to need a lot of prayer, meditation and contemplation in order to show up. Like a crooked picture hanging in the hallway, something is off kilter here. I’m merely blogging the same ideas that you’ve thought at least a dozen times. You probably said it like this: “If God is all, why do I have to pray?”

Stop Helping God

God (or whatever term you use) is the only Presence. Better still, God is Presence itself. And God does not need special help in order to BE Presence. God doesn’t need one single soul to sit in silent prayer for a single second in order to “show up.” God is the show.

God doesn’t need special contemplations, group meditations, chants or mantras in order to be Presence. God, by virtue of being All, is all that is present.

“But,” you say, “I ache so bad, and my life is in shambles. I’ve lost my reason and will to live. It seems that if I don’t pray, I don’t stand a chance of turning my life around.”

You Know The Truth

Reader. Only an identity imagining (and this has to be an imagination gone berserk) his life, mind, body and world to be something other than the One and Only could possibly think he needs to do anything for God to show up. You, reader, are not such an identity. You know what is true, and you know that you are the Truth that you know. How do I know this? Because God Is All.

Is Group Prayer Really Effective? (Surprising Answer)

group prayer allen white God is All

QUESTION: “Is group prayer more effective than praying solo? If I round up 20 people to pray for world peace, would that be more effective than 5 people praying — or just one person? In other words, where prayer is concerned, is there “strength in numbers”?

There is a tendency to think that group prayer is like building an army: if you have an army of 100 soldiers fighting on the battlefield, it has to be better than a scrimpy army of 10 gun-toting soldiers.

Also, there is the idea that the greater the number, the greater the effectiveness. A man, chased by a ginormous grizzly, reasons that firing 1000 bullets certainly must be more effective than firing just one bullet.

No Opponents, Just Revelation

When you seem to be dealing with an opponent, perhaps there is strength and effectiveness in numbers. Yet, IN PRAYER YOU ARE NOT CONTENDING WITH AN ADVERSARY. Prayer, right-focused prayer, is about the business of awareness, discernment, realization, and revelation. Simply put, prayer is about discerning God’s presence — and what God is — as the sum-total of existence.

While others cowered in fear and uncertainty, Christ Jesus often stood alone in His awareness of God’s Allness. And standing alone proved to be enough! Just one identity clearly perceiving the Isness of the Allness of God is always enough. However, there is a special value in group prayer.

What Makes Group Prayer Effective

Imagine that you seem to have a problem on the job — perhaps a personality clash. Each day the situation sours like lemon curdled milk. Being the much-loved person that you are, you easily gather 25 people to pray for you. Day and night, they pour their hearts into perceiving God’s presence as being all that is present as the totality of your work environment. Out of these 25 sincerely praying friends, one (and that’s all it takes) is bound to achieve the clarity that God is indeed the only Activity, Identity, and Evidence. Miracle of miracles, the next day you go to work it seems like your fairy godmother waved her magic wand over the office. All is love, light and laughter.

Don’t be deceived! The obvious assumption is that the dedicated prayers of the prayer group worked a miracle in your situation, but that wasn’t the case at all. It was the razor-sharp perception of that one person that revealed God’s Allness.

By the above example, you can see that the value of a large number of people praying is that at least one will experience a clear realization of God’s Allness. But you don’t need a group. You can be that one.

So Many Things To Pray About – Where Do I Start?

God Is All

The Things

Fix a thing. Repair a thing. Heal a thing. Add a thing. Get rid of a thing. With prayer, it always seems to be about a thing. But here’s the thing: As long as prayer is about things, you will always have a thing to pray about. And as long as you are praying about things, the conscious enjoyment of God’s Allness will never happen.

Did Your Early Days Of Prayer Look Like This?

Your personal history of prayer certainly doesn’t help. Like mine, it probably started with thing-based prayer. Grammy prayed to heal your broken leg. While you prayed for a new toy, dad prayed for a better job, and momma prayed for new furniture. In the church, the preacher prayed for healing of the sick and shut-in, and the “Women’s Guild” prayed to get the drug-dealing hoodlums out of the neighborhood.

The Most Effective Way To Pray

Reader, let’s get back on track! God is the only presence. God is the only power. And God is not a thing. In God’s Allness, where are the things? Nowhere! Okay, I can hear you thinking, “But Allen, there are forms, right?” Yes, there are. But these forms we have mistakenly called things are God and their nature is God.

Jesus teaching his disciples about prayer said, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God . . . and all these things will be added unto you.” Pray to know God. Pray to experience God. Pray to know your Identity is in God as God. This is “right” prayer. There are no things in this prayer, and yet this thing-less prayer piles the needed things (forms) right in your lap. Why is this?

Because the forms that you and I have called things, by various names, are God. Nothing is added, but these seemingly invisible forms are effortlessly revealed in all their spiritual glory.

Reader, are you worried trying to figure out how to pray about the many things that seem to be troubling you? Leave things completely out of your prayers and seek a clearer realization of the nature of God. In discovering God’s nature (via Revelation) you discover your nature, and in discovering your nature, you discover the nature of all those forms you thought were separated from you by time and space.

You can read more on the practicality of this kind of praying in Chapter 3 of God Is All.

Has The Devil Wormed Its Way Into Your Spiritual Practice?

Allen White God Is All

Just When I Thought I Was Done With The Devil

“Allen, I just had to get out of the Baptist church. The preacher talked more about the works of the devil than the power of God. Every Sunday I felt like Satan was sitting beside me.” Hoping to leave the devil behind, Sharon left the Baptist church. She explored other churches and opened herself to new ideas. One evening she attended a tape group where she heard the speaker talk about “finite sense” and “universal beliefs.” At one church, the reader mentioned something about “animal magnetism.”

Soon, Sharon prattled on about illusions, appearances, animal magnetism, “the seeming,” and at moments, when she wanted to sound really sophisticated, she spoke in low tones about the “veil of Maya.”

The “Aha” Moment

But one day Sharon thought,“Wait a minute here. Just when I thought I left the devil in the pew, here he is in the study group draped in new clothes with a host of new names: appearances, finite sense, mortal mind, etc. Sure, the name has changed, but it’s the same ol’ game – something going on other than God.”

It does no good to give a non-existent devil a new name if you’re dealing with the same culprit. Take away the pitchfork and red suit. Dress it up in white linen, and give it a new name; it’s still the same thing – A LIE.

Take Wing And Fly

Reader, answer this question honestly. When you left the traditional church to embrace a “higher spirituality,” didn’t you feel a little unsettled every time you heard or read the words illusion, appearance, and mortal mind? Didn’t you – at least once – say to yourself, “Ohhhhh boy, here we go again?”

Why did you feel this way? Because you knew and know that God Is All, and beside God there is nothing at all – nothing.

Fly on the wings of your innate knowing into the glorious experience of God’s Allness. There are no appearances to clip your wings. There are no illusions to alter your course. There are no mortal minds to lower your altitude. Fly on! God Is All!

What Is Intelligence?

God Is All Allen White

Here is an author I have not shared on this blog. His name is John Hargreaves and the excerpt I am sharing comes from his book They Shall Be All Taught Of God.

Because intelligence is the prime quality of Mind (God), it is intelligence, not belief, that constitutes man. It is I, Mind, that knows this. Man is intelligence, and this intelligence is universal, infinite, indivisible. There is nothing unintelligent — and nothing more or less intelligent — going on.

There is no personal, comparative intelligence, and there can be no question of instilling intelligence into a human mind, or of expecting from this so-called mind, which is ignorance, any form of intelligence.

You cannot put new wine into old bottles. Spiritual sense sees intelligence instead of ignorance. If intelligence is omniscient, then there is no unintelligent thought and no mind to think it. If intelligence is omnipotent, then no claim of unintelligence has any power. If intelligence is omnipresent, then it is so here and now, just where the contrary claim may seem to be.

Because intelligence is infinite, it is one, and there are not intelligences…

Join A Global “Weather Team”

THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF MUCH OF

  • Alabama
  • Northwest Georgia
  • Southeast Mississippi
  • Southern Middle Tennessee

Above is an actual news alert published by the National Weather Service warning that lives could be lost and property are in danger of being destroyed.

Since it warns us of ever changing and potentially life-threatening weather conditions, some folk think the National Weather Service is a godsend. I appreciate them, but I confess that whenever I see or hear the word conditions, an internal buzzer goes off – something like the smoke detector in my kitchen when the fillets sizzling in the grill pan get a little smoky.

When you hear or read the words “weather conditions” does something seem a little fishy? Something is! The phrase suggests an impossibility. The Infinite All, which we call God, is changeless and unconditioned. Yet the weather, conditioned by many factors, supposedly changes. So here’s where we are left: Either the Allness of God is a lie or so-called weather conditions are a lie. For you, which is it?

Many years ago, during the Winter months, two members of my congregation and I formed a “Weather Team.” Here’s how we defined our purpose: “to realize and acknowledge that right where changing weather and weather extremes seem to be, GOD IS, LOVE IS, JOY IS, PEACE IS.”

We stayed with the Truth that the only condition is the UNCONDITIONED ONE; the only Environment is GOD enjoying its own unchallenged being and presence; and the only experience is LOVE experiencing Itself. Every day, for months, we joined together knowing that this IS the reality right where changing weather conditions seemed to be. Our prayers were very effective.

After two years, the “team” disbanded. However, you and I can be a team simply by daily reminding ourselves that there are no weather conditions. There is just God. – the Unconditioned One.

Stop Reaching For Enlightenment

Nature’s Lesson On Enlightened Living

“Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not…” These are the words of Christ Jesus from his legendary Sermon on the Mount. What could the disciples possibly learn from gazing at lilies? A simple lesson in living: Life should be effortless. I think you sense this. And I think you have already surmised that the key to effortless living is a conscious awareness that God Is All of All — as All.

No Toiling Necessary

Reader, I believe that the conscious awareness of God As All ranks high on your priority list. You are sincere about it, but do consider the lilies: they neither toil nor spin. Your conscious awareness of God should be effortless! Toiling and spinning for spiritual enlightenment is no more commendable than toiling and spinning for daily supply. And here’s why.

You Are The Light Of The World

You are already a completely illumined being. You already know all the Truth you ever will know. Your Consciousness (God being Conscious) is vibrantly aglow with the Light of Truth — as the Light of Truth. Prayer is not a struggle for more Light. In the clearest way I can express it, prayer is the Self gazing at Itself.

In my past life (before the ministry), I used to hang out with a woman who was double-head-turning beautiful. And she knew it. Every time she passed her reflection she side-glanced and gave herself an approving smile. She wasn’t trying to become more beautiful. She was simply — perhaps egotistically — admiring and acknowledging her beauty.

Sunrise Praying

When you pray a simple prayer like, “God, reveal Thyself,” that prayer is a mirror giving you an opportunity, through Silence, to acknowledge and behold the Light that you are. Yes, there are times that you make new discoveries in prayer. But they are discoveries and not creations. Those marvels have always been there.

Beloved, don’t struggle for enlightenment as if you must get it from some outside or separate source. Let prayer be an effortless letting rather than an effortful getting. It does no more good to reach within than to reach without. Stop reaching. Be still, and let Revelation be as easy and quiet as the rising sun. The Light you seem to seek is the LIGHT YOU ARE.

Did You Contemplate Your Perfection Today?

For the month of July I am taking a break. Instead of writing new articles, I am posting some more of my favorite passages from other Absolute authors. This week’s post is from Doris Henty’s Addresses and Other Writings..

The command “Be ye therefore perfect” is already fulfilled effortlessly. Perfection is inevitable. Restriction, friction, erroneous suggestion, earth-bound sense, mortal belief — the belief that there is a belief —are unknown to the kingdom of holiness within.

Discord never entered your Mind. Your peaceful well-being remains forever undisturbed. No suggestion of evil was ever heard, seen or felt in this consciousness of holiness which you are. Yours is the “boundless thought that walks enraptured,” free from impediment, obstruction or limitation, enjoying the natural perfection of its own being.

Let prayer be the joyous recognition and acknowledgment of that which already exists, the glories of Life: the joyous, restful experience of health and harmony already and permanently established as one’s own being. The Sabbath means that the whole of infinity is “the secret place of the most High.” Think of the peace and security of such being, your being, unassailed because there is nothing but Itself.
