Stop Trying To Fix Yourself–There’s Nothing Wrong!

Stop trying to fix yourself! Just stop it! There’s nothing wrong with you. Nothing! Pull all of those self-help books off of the shelf and save them for fire-starters at your next cookout. If you are taking mental inventory trying to figure out why this awful thing is happening to you, STOP.

Reader, you do agree with me that there is nothing wrong with God? Let’s take the next step: Is there anything, or anyone other than God? No! You exist, don’t you? What is the substance of your existence? The answer is God. Therefore, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU.

Prayer, meditation, contemplation, etc. are not fix-and-repair tools to reconstruct a broken life, or a broken you. No, they are activities to revel in the Glorious You, the Perfect You, the Infinite You, and the Boundless You.

Right now, take a deep breath and acknowledge that GOD IS ALL THERE IS.

  • Does not this ALLNESS include your Body?
  • Does not this ALLNESS include your Mind?
  • Does not this ALLNESS include your Life?

Isn’t everything that you call “yours” actually God being All? Then, the only conclusion you can come to is

THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU.

There’s Nothing Wrong With You

Why Does God Need So Much Help To Be God?

A lion is a lion. She doesn’t need to sit in silence for hours – even minutes – in order to roar. She doesn’t need to meditate and contemplate in order to claw her prey. A lion needs no assistance whatsoever in order to be a lion. And what of the lily and the lampstand? Neither do they have to do a single thing to be what they are.

Why does the game seem to change when it comes to God? God seems to need a lot of help to be God. God is supposedly the only presence, but this God seems to need a lot of prayer, meditation and contemplation in order to show up. Like a crooked picture hanging in the hallway, something is off kilter here. I’m merely blogging the same ideas that you’ve thought at least a dozen times. You probably said it like this: “If God is all, why do I have to pray?”

Stop Helping God

God (or whatever term you use) is the only Presence. Better still, God is Presence itself. And God does not need special help in order to BE Presence. God doesn’t need one single soul to sit in silent prayer for a single second in order to “show up.” God is the show.

God doesn’t need special contemplations, group meditations, chants or mantras in order to be Presence. God, by virtue of being All, is all that is present.

“But,” you say, “I ache so bad, and my life is in shambles. I’ve lost my reason and will to live. It seems that if I don’t pray, I don’t stand a chance of turning my life around.”

You Know The Truth

Reader. Only an identity imagining (and this has to be an imagination gone berserk) his life, mind, body and world to be something other than the One and Only could possibly think he needs to do anything for God to show up. You, reader, are not such an identity. You know what is true, and you know that you are the Truth that you know. How do I know this? Because God Is All.

What Is Intelligence?

God Is All Allen White

Here is an author I have not shared on this blog. His name is John Hargreaves and the excerpt I am sharing comes from his book They Shall Be All Taught Of God.

Because intelligence is the prime quality of Mind (God), it is intelligence, not belief, that constitutes man. It is I, Mind, that knows this. Man is intelligence, and this intelligence is universal, infinite, indivisible. There is nothing unintelligent — and nothing more or less intelligent — going on.

There is no personal, comparative intelligence, and there can be no question of instilling intelligence into a human mind, or of expecting from this so-called mind, which is ignorance, any form of intelligence.

You cannot put new wine into old bottles. Spiritual sense sees intelligence instead of ignorance. If intelligence is omniscient, then there is no unintelligent thought and no mind to think it. If intelligence is omnipotent, then no claim of unintelligence has any power. If intelligence is omnipresent, then it is so here and now, just where the contrary claim may seem to be.

Because intelligence is infinite, it is one, and there are not intelligences…

Did You Contemplate Your Perfection Today?

For the month of July I am taking a break. Instead of writing new articles, I am posting some more of my favorite passages from other Absolute authors. This week’s post is from Doris Henty’s Addresses and Other Writings..

The command “Be ye therefore perfect” is already fulfilled effortlessly. Perfection is inevitable. Restriction, friction, erroneous suggestion, earth-bound sense, mortal belief — the belief that there is a belief —are unknown to the kingdom of holiness within.

Discord never entered your Mind. Your peaceful well-being remains forever undisturbed. No suggestion of evil was ever heard, seen or felt in this consciousness of holiness which you are. Yours is the “boundless thought that walks enraptured,” free from impediment, obstruction or limitation, enjoying the natural perfection of its own being.

Let prayer be the joyous recognition and acknowledgment of that which already exists, the glories of Life: the joyous, restful experience of health and harmony already and permanently established as one’s own being. The Sabbath means that the whole of infinity is “the secret place of the most High.” Think of the peace and security of such being, your being, unassailed because there is nothing but Itself.

Male, Female or God?

For the month of July I am taking a break. Instead of writing new articles, I am posting some more of my favorite passages from other Absolute authors. This week’s post is from Alfred Aiken’s The Unchallenged Self.

Have you ever stopped to consider how many difficulties arise in one’s average experience merely because of gender? Gender, as related to sex, duality, began in time alone. You had naught to do with being male or female, man or woman, nor has God! How then did gender come about?

Metaphysics assumes gender to be a quality of Mind, but Truth knows no gender. Medicine would have gender result from the arrangement of specific material cells. Philosophy accepts it as racial requirement. Theology claims it is God’s plan for human perpetuity.

But what does the Alone-Self say concerning gender. Nothing! God is whole, entire, the infinite invisible individual ONE OF ALL IMMENSITY.

Truth is neither male nor female. The dual appearance of gender, which is part and parcel of humanity’s method of reproducing its kind,is not a provision arranged by God. The INFINITE ONE who is ALL OF ALL, the ALONE ENTIRETY OF THE UNIVERSE, ALL-INCLUSIVE BEING, could not need or command a finite human to “multiply” and replenish the earth.” God is all of ALL—all there is, is God. God is all of Me, the I THAT I am, My ENTIRETY, SUBSTANCE, LIFE, MIND, IDENTITY, EXISTENCE. I AM not man, not mortal, not human, not a finite animal.

Human Nonsense

let there be light allen white

This excerpt is taken from LIGHT by Lillian DeWaters

Spirit is our only Self, I or ME — boundless, immeasurable, timeless, spaceless, incorporeal. There is no mortal, human or material being, mind, self or body. There is but “ME” — IAM the One who is Real and Present.

When this new Revelation is seen and accepted, there will be no more sickness, sorrow, disease, pain or death. As the belief and teaching that we are mortals, humans or mankind is done away with, there will be no misbelief, misconception, erring teaching or wrong thinking.

Seeing that the One Self, “I” or “ME” reigns alone, and that there can be no other identity — whether as mind, consciousness or body — each one should reject and discard the beliefs and teachings which identify oneself as man, humanity or mankind; for within this very identification lies the subjection to suffering, disease and limitation.

Our deliverance, therefore, is not from suffering, worry, fear or old age, but that one ceases to believe or accept that he is a mortal or human being, and that his body is material or physical.

Praying In Jesus’ Name (God Is All excerpt)

Name, of course, means nature. Whenever Jesus speaks of “In my name,” you must interpret it to mean “In my nature.” What is the Christ Jesus nature? Here in the Gospel of St. John, Jesus reveals His nature: “I and my Father are one(and the same).” “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father….” Christ and God are one and the same. To do anything in the name, or nature, of Jesus Christ is to do it in full recognition of one’s own Identity as the full Presence of God. There must come a point where one immediately associates the word or name “God” with his very own identity.

If Christ and God are one and the same, to whom does Christ pray? Christ prays “to” no one or no thing. Prayer, then, is the full Awareness of your God Identity as your only Identity. [from God Is All]

Pregnancy And The Real Identity

baby_mother

Trying To Get Pregnant

Gina, a new member of our church family, ambled to the pulpit, grabbed the microphone and spoke in soft tones as she fought back the tears. She shared the story of her long struggle to get pregnant. Tests and treatments. More tests, and more treatments … but no baby. After coming to our church for a few weeks, Gina took to heart the teachings of our ministry and got busy with God-focused prayer.

As the microphone shook in her hands, Gina lost the battle. Tears streamed down her smiling face. Then she shared the good news: “I’m four weeks pregnant.”

Of course I was happy for Gina, but I thought to myself, “Why didn’t she tell me she was trying to get pregnant. Perhaps I could have helped.”

Will You Pray For Me?

Years ago, while working as an assistant minister of a church in Baltimore, I also worked part-time in the office of an invitro-fertilization clinic. Invitro-fertilization was often the last resort for women trying to get pregnant when fertility drugs, surgery, and artificial insemination failed. Every day women sauntered into the office with high hopes for a pregnancy miracle. Most left with dashed hopes. I knew there was a better way, but I didn’t yet know the way.

One evening, after a day of working in the “A Baby-By-Any-Means-Necessary Clinic,” I consulted with a woman in my congregation. She told me that she was trying to get pregnant, but couldn’t. Doctors said that all the test results were perfect and there was no physiological reason why she and her husband could not have a baby. Finally, she said, “Rev. Allen, will you pray for me?”

Revelations Of The True Identity

I took the prayer request seriously, and weeks later she ran up and bear-hugged me: “Allen, what did you do? I’m pregnant.”

Of course the Truth is I did nothing. However, in prayer these truths were revealed:

• The identity she was trying to conceive already existed.
• Every identity is an eternal, birthless, deathless, and timeless identity.
• Conception and pregnancy only seem to be necessary because of a belief in time.

From that point on, every time I was called by a woman who was trying to get pregnant, the prayer was always successful.

The Hoped-For Is Already Here

Reader, are you trying to conceive? Stop trying! Instead just know that the identity you desire to bring into the world is already here as an Eternal Identity. Your desire to conceive is merely the signal that the hoped-for is already here.

You Are The Splendor (Top-Ten Books)

mw

This is the last book on our must-reads list. Marie Watts pours her heart into You Are The Splendor. Below are some excerpts:

thumb

Just as a mistake in mathematics calls your attention to the perfect mathematical fact, so it is that any appearance of evil serves to call your attention to some specific good, or God. God is Perfection; thus Perfection is a universal as well as a specific fact. Any appearance of imperfection serves to call your attention to the perfect Principle, which is Perfection. A mistake can seem to be troublesome, or evil, only so long as it is mistaken for a fact. Once your attention is focused upon the perfect fact, the mistake is canceled. It simply vanishes.

[ a poem]
I AM the only One, the All,
I AM the One ‘pon whom I call
when darkness doth appear,
or when I seem to fear
some presence, power, or blight
that could obscure the Light.
I AM the heaven and the earth;
I AM the Life that knows no birth,
no change, no age, no death.
I AM the One, the only MInd,
the One it seemed that I must find,
till I awoke to see
the I AM that is ME.

To recognize that the Christ Consciousness is your Consciousness means to accept the fact that you can see as Jesus saw; you can know as he knew; you can experience as he experienced; and you can be what he was, and is.

Pray Effectively For Others – DeWaters (Top-Ten)

wat

Years ago, a woman named Laura ( a long-time “student” of Lillian DeWaters) sent me nearly a hundred personal letters from Lillian DeWaters plus a hardback book that nearly fit in the palm of my hand. The book was Who Am I? Short and sweet best describes the book. One chapter, however, stands out as an oak among orchids: There Is No Other. Below is most of that chapter.

thumb

Who is Mary? Who is John? Who is James? Who is Martha? Verily, I Am all; all is I. Perfection is all! All is Perfection. The One Selfhood is all; all is the One Selfhood.

Is there any beside Me? Yea, I know not any. There is no other. There is none else.

Therefore, any ignorant Mary, any sick John, and sinful James, any limited Martha, is not present. Thou shalt consider none but Me. Thou shalt believe in no other. Thou shalt consider no other.

For instance, if one believes that he sees someone in ignorance, sickness, sin or limitation, who then needs the help–the “other” or oneself? Oneself. So far as anyone is concerned with a problem, he need consider only his own Consciousness.

If there is but one Selfhood, perfect and complete, let one ask himself, Who then is sick? Who then is ignorant? Who then is sinful or in limitation? And what must the answer be? No one in God’s perfect Selfhood.

How, then, shall one proceed? First–Take all attention from the form or entity named John or Mary. Next–enter into communication with your Self. Ask your-Self questions and your-Self will answer them. For instance–Just what should I be seeing? The Answer will be–Is there anything or anyone to see but the Real and the True? Then you may say, But what about John or Mary? And the Self will answer– I Am all there is of John. I Am all there is of Mary. There is none but Me.

Ever, one’s concern is only with himself–that he function solely as the One, and no other.
