Change Or Changeless

This post has already been sent out to God Is All E-Course Subscribers. Starting with the next post, the only difference between readers of this blog and course subscribers is that subscribers will receive practical tips on putting the post into practice.

President Obama swept into the White House on a promise of change.
People in the United States were pining and panting for a change.
Did they get the change they wanted?
Who knows.

Desiring A Change

It does not matter what country you live in, people seem to want change. Some want to change their partners, and some want to change their jobs. Others want to change where they live, or how they live. Then, there are those who want to change their health or finances. If you don’t believe that everyone seems to be seeking change, ask anyone this question: “If you could change anything in your life, what would it be?” You won’t have to wait sixty seconds before someone starts stammering and stuttering to articulate an answer.

Reader, if you can look at your life right now and see any areas crying out for a change, do not try to fix them. That can be a long, laborious, and fruitless task fraught with frustration. There is a better way!

The Solution

The best way to accomplish what you want – total life satisfaction – is by focusing on the Changeless One rather than constantly gazing at the apparently broken areas of your life. Yes, contemplating God (and what God IS) as the only Presence and the only Power will do more for you than manhandling and manipulating the appearances in your life. Try it and see for yourself.

Reader, you say that there is only one Presence and only one Power, so what mind is hoping to change things? Is it the Mind that is God? Is it the mind of man? Are there two minds? Does God, the Changeless One, know of anything that needs changing? These are the questions I ask myself when I slip into the chasm of change.

How Are You Identifying Yourself?

Desiring a change of any kind is to identify yourself with a mind that does not exist. It is to identify yourself as an identity (human) that is not real. Talk about reducing yourself to nothing! It gets no better than this. Consider this! The conditions that the unreal identity experiences (those needing change) are as unreal as the identity wanting to change them. [You may have to read that again.]

Having The Single Vision

Earlier in this article, I suggested that contemplating God’s Allness is the best way for total life satisfaction. It is, but here’s the caveat. You must be single-visioned. Contemplating God one moment and looking for a change the next moment is being double-visioned. Christ Jesus said, “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

Contemplate God’s Allness until you experience the realization, that despite the appearances, God (and what God IS) is the only reality. This is the way of Power. Now, try it for yourself.

I AM Contemplation

This post has already been sent out to God Is All E-Course Subscribers. It was so well received that I decided to post on Absolutely Yours. BACKSTORY: One evening in silent listening, these words announced themselves. Since then, these words have been the launching pad for many contemplations.

There is no God giving or withholding Health.
There is just I AM
and I AM That I AM.

There is no God giving or withholding Wealth.
There is just I AM
and I AM That I AM

There is no God giving or withholding Enlightenment.
There is Just I AM
and I AM That I AM

There is no giving and withholding God.
There is just I AM
and I AM That I AM.

There is none to give to,
and there is none to receive
There is just I AM
and I AM That I AM

This Is The Only Sure Way!

Repetitive For A Reason

Have you noticed a pattern in these blog posts? In many, if not most, I suggest that you ask questions of your Self (God) and wait for the answers to be revealed. And, I always caution that you resist the itch to make up your own answers.

There is a reason for this suggestion: There’s a world of difference between Truth revealed and Truth merely heard, read or said. Truth revealed is like winning the big prize in a lottery drawing when you’re down to your last dollar. Truth merely read is as helpful as falling into a lion’s den wearing a meat jacket.

One Truth Revealed Worth The Wait In Gold

In a poem by the famous poet Nikki Giovanni, she writes, “One ounce of truth benefits like ripples in a pond.” It’s true. One Truth revealed is better than reading and studying libraries of Truth books. One Truth revealed touches every area of your life.

Your Only Spiritual Authority

With every suggestion to question and listen, I am intentionally turning your attention to the only valid authority – God Consciousness. Your Consciousness.

No More Problems – Ever!

happy

Can You Imagine This?

Can you imagine living the rest of your life without any problems? Okay, so you can imagine it, but do you believe it is possible for you to never have another problem for the rest of your life? This is not a rhetorical question. Please answer it. And, reader, know that I am not talking about merely being able to better cope with problems, but actually having no problems at all.

Too Comfortable With Problems

It seems that we’ve snuggled up too comfortably with the idea of having problems such that the thought of having no problems causes a brain freeze. You probably even know some people who need problems to work on as a reason to crawl out of bed in the morning.

Let’s not forget about that other group of people – the ones who think, “If I am really faithful to my spiritual practice, one day I’ll reach the point where I will never have problems to deal with.” Minus the time element (and other dualisms), there is some Truth to this idea.

Get This Right And The Rest Is Simple

Reader, answer these two questions: Who has problems? Does God have problems? The answer is obvious. Human beings, not God Being, have problems.

Humans, not God, have health problems. Humans, not God, have relationship problems. Humans have financial problems. (I’ve got to stop here, because I’m having a “problem” completing this list.)

Try this. If you seem to be in the cold, clamping grip of some problem, rather than praying with a focus on your suffering, ask your God Self, “Does God know anything about this problem?” Wait for an answer. Repeat if necessary! If you do this, you will never waste your prayer time seeking God to do something about a thing God knows nothing of. Let’s move on.

De-Humanize Yourself

If it is the human that seems to have these problems, then the solution to a life riddled with problems is to de-humanize yourself. This is a matter of revelation and realization where you realize that your Self (body included) includes no human element whatsoever. The process is simple.

Ask this one question of your God Self: “Who Am I?” Ask and listen. Repeat daily until the answer is revealed. There is one catch. You must be willing to suspend every human, mortal idea of yourself. Ideas such as:

  • race
  • gender
  • nationality
  • age (birthdays)
  • genetics
  • height, weight
  • etc.

Note, I said that you must be willing to surrender these ideas. With this one simple willingness, revelations concerning the Truth of your Identity are certain.

The paradox (as I’m sure you have already realized) is that you have never been human. Even in the thick of your seeming problems, you have never had a human experience. You have never had a problem. Only in the illusion has humanhood appeared to be. God Is All. All Is God.

The One Thing You Must Get (Let)

God Is All Allen White

“With all thy getting get understanding.”

These are the words of Solomon from the Book of Proverbs.

Because you are reading this blog, I know you rank spiritual understanding somewhere up there near breathing and eating — or at least in your top 5 priorities.

Spiritual Understanding Made Easy

Reader, don’t you feel there is something unnatural — something wrong — with this lifelong pursuit of spiritual understanding? Don’t you wish, if not think, that spiritual understanding should be as effortless as eating and breathing? If you feel this way, you are onto something BIG. Spiritual understanding should be easy and effortless, and it is. Keep reading.

  1. Spiritual understanding is not something to be sought like a university degree. It is not something to be found like dollars on a sidewalk. Spiritual understanding (the understanding of the Spirit of God) is God knowing Itself. This being so, spiritual understanding is the natural and normal state of the entire Universe. (That sentence is begging you for quiet contemplation.) Spiritual understanding is an eternal constant. Spiritual understanding is not what you get; it is what you are. You are God Knowing Itself in living, loving action.
  2. The value of silent prayer, where there is no aim to fix and repair, is that in a moment of stillness your natural understanding asserts itself. You know as God knows, because you consciously experience God knowing Itself as your Self. So in all matters of Spirit, relax. There is no understanding out there to get, but there is plenty to let. Paul said, “Let that same mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus…” It already is. Just let it announce Itself.

Put Your Heart Into This For Seven Days

For the next seven days, try contemplating these two statements:

  • Spiritual Understanding is Omnipresent.
  • I Am Spiritual Understanding.

Contemplating these two ideas will open up a floodgate of Revelation. Some spiritual facts will be startlingly clear to you and force you to reconsider this wonderful world. Try it and see!

How Many Problems Do You Have?

"Be still and know that I am God"

This is a follow-up to a previous post (So Many Things To Pray About) that partially answered the question “How do you pray when you have so many things to pray about?”

Rather than take you on the scenic route, let’s go straight to the answer. YOU HAVE NO PROBLEMS – NONE!

Just One Problem And That’s Debatable

Take a deep breath, and continue reading. The idea that you have a truckload of problems to pray over is a lie. There is only one SEEMING problem that is disguised as a truckload of problems, and that one problem is the idea that there is something going on in your life other than the Presence, Power, and Activity of Love (God). Reader, isn’t that what the real issue is?

So, take the next step. You know that there is only One Presence and only One Power. Necessarily, there must be only One Mind. You may have called it “my mind”, “his mind”, “her mind”, but these personal tags are only distortions of the Infinite, Indivisible Mind that is God.

Are You Sure You’re Aware Of A Problem?

What does this One Mind know? What can it know but One Presence and One Power? Do you think this One Mind (God) knows anything about a difficulty? See for yourself!

In silent listening prayer, ask your Self these two questions:

  1. “What mind exists that believes there is a presence and power other than God?”
  2. “What mind exists that is aware of these problems?”

Reader, the power is not in the questioning. The power is in the listening. Here is a word of caution: DO NOT MAKE UP YOUR OWN ANSWERS!

The Guarantee

You many have to ask and listen many times, but the revealed answer makes it all worthwhile. I guarantee that once you follow the above suggestions, and once you ask and experience the answer to the above questions, you will:

  • never be knocked off your feet by a seeming problem
  • never feel victimized by life
  • know how to handle any problem that seems to come up
  • have extended days of blissful living

Is Group Prayer Really Effective? (Surprising Answer)

group prayer allen white God is All

QUESTION: “Is group prayer more effective than praying solo? If I round up 20 people to pray for world peace, would that be more effective than 5 people praying — or just one person? In other words, where prayer is concerned, is there “strength in numbers”?

There is a tendency to think that group prayer is like building an army: if you have an army of 100 soldiers fighting on the battlefield, it has to be better than a scrimpy army of 10 gun-toting soldiers.

Also, there is the idea that the greater the number, the greater the effectiveness. A man, chased by a ginormous grizzly, reasons that firing 1000 bullets certainly must be more effective than firing just one bullet.

No Opponents, Just Revelation

When you seem to be dealing with an opponent, perhaps there is strength and effectiveness in numbers. Yet, IN PRAYER YOU ARE NOT CONTENDING WITH AN ADVERSARY. Prayer, right-focused prayer, is about the business of awareness, discernment, realization, and revelation. Simply put, prayer is about discerning God’s presence — and what God is — as the sum-total of existence.

While others cowered in fear and uncertainty, Christ Jesus often stood alone in His awareness of God’s Allness. And standing alone proved to be enough! Just one identity clearly perceiving the Isness of the Allness of God is always enough. However, there is a special value in group prayer.

What Makes Group Prayer Effective

Imagine that you seem to have a problem on the job — perhaps a personality clash. Each day the situation sours like lemon curdled milk. Being the much-loved person that you are, you easily gather 25 people to pray for you. Day and night, they pour their hearts into perceiving God’s presence as being all that is present as the totality of your work environment. Out of these 25 sincerely praying friends, one (and that’s all it takes) is bound to achieve the clarity that God is indeed the only Activity, Identity, and Evidence. Miracle of miracles, the next day you go to work it seems like your fairy godmother waved her magic wand over the office. All is love, light and laughter.

Don’t be deceived! The obvious assumption is that the dedicated prayers of the prayer group worked a miracle in your situation, but that wasn’t the case at all. It was the razor-sharp perception of that one person that revealed God’s Allness.

By the above example, you can see that the value of a large number of people praying is that at least one will experience a clear realization of God’s Allness. But you don’t need a group. You can be that one.

So Many Things To Pray About – Where Do I Start?

God Is All

The Things

Fix a thing. Repair a thing. Heal a thing. Add a thing. Get rid of a thing. With prayer, it always seems to be about a thing. But here’s the thing: As long as prayer is about things, you will always have a thing to pray about. And as long as you are praying about things, the conscious enjoyment of God’s Allness will never happen.

Did Your Early Days Of Prayer Look Like This?

Your personal history of prayer certainly doesn’t help. Like mine, it probably started with thing-based prayer. Grammy prayed to heal your broken leg. While you prayed for a new toy, dad prayed for a better job, and momma prayed for new furniture. In the church, the preacher prayed for healing of the sick and shut-in, and the “Women’s Guild” prayed to get the drug-dealing hoodlums out of the neighborhood.

The Most Effective Way To Pray

Reader, let’s get back on track! God is the only presence. God is the only power. And God is not a thing. In God’s Allness, where are the things? Nowhere! Okay, I can hear you thinking, “But Allen, there are forms, right?” Yes, there are. But these forms we have mistakenly called things are God and their nature is God.

Jesus teaching his disciples about prayer said, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God . . . and all these things will be added unto you.” Pray to know God. Pray to experience God. Pray to know your Identity is in God as God. This is “right” prayer. There are no things in this prayer, and yet this thing-less prayer piles the needed things (forms) right in your lap. Why is this?

Because the forms that you and I have called things, by various names, are God. Nothing is added, but these seemingly invisible forms are effortlessly revealed in all their spiritual glory.

Reader, are you worried trying to figure out how to pray about the many things that seem to be troubling you? Leave things completely out of your prayers and seek a clearer realization of the nature of God. In discovering God’s nature (via Revelation) you discover your nature, and in discovering your nature, you discover the nature of all those forms you thought were separated from you by time and space.

You can read more on the practicality of this kind of praying in Chapter 3 of God Is All.

Did You Contemplate Your Perfection Today?

For the month of July I am taking a break. Instead of writing new articles, I am posting some more of my favorite passages from other Absolute authors. This week’s post is from Doris Henty’s Addresses and Other Writings..

The command “Be ye therefore perfect” is already fulfilled effortlessly. Perfection is inevitable. Restriction, friction, erroneous suggestion, earth-bound sense, mortal belief — the belief that there is a belief —are unknown to the kingdom of holiness within.

Discord never entered your Mind. Your peaceful well-being remains forever undisturbed. No suggestion of evil was ever heard, seen or felt in this consciousness of holiness which you are. Yours is the “boundless thought that walks enraptured,” free from impediment, obstruction or limitation, enjoying the natural perfection of its own being.

Let prayer be the joyous recognition and acknowledgment of that which already exists, the glories of Life: the joyous, restful experience of health and harmony already and permanently established as one’s own being. The Sabbath means that the whole of infinity is “the secret place of the most High.” Think of the peace and security of such being, your being, unassailed because there is nothing but Itself.

I’m Doing My Best But Truth Is Not Working – Why?

Dear Reader,

Have you done the best you know how, spiritually, and things still aren’t working out? Have you been consistent in prayer, faithful in contemplation, and still a dark cloud seems to hang over your life?

Are you wondering why that disease clings despite your realization of its nothingness? Or, are you wondering why the door of opportunity slams in your face every time you step toward the threshold? Reader, are you puzzled as to why, despite all your sincerity, you cannot seem to break free of the limitations of this false sense of humanhood? Maybe other questions, similar to these, are begging for answers.

Since God Is All, you know in your heart that these things should not even seem to be. And in your heart, you know you’ve done the best you know how to do. Still, somehow, it doesn’t seem to be good enough. Reader, be lifted up. Let your heart rise as the morning sun. There is an answer.

In the Holy Bible, James writes, “If any man lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” Beloved, here in our Holy Bible is the answer to what to do, when you don’t know what to do. If you don’t understand why the disease seems to cling despite your best praying, ASK GOD. If you don’t understand why you can’t crawl out from under that rock of debt, despite your clear realization of ever present supply, ASK GOD. If you’re dazed and confused as to why, after all these years, you still seem as human as ever, ASK GOD.

Reader: Go directly to your God Consciousness, and ask any question you desire. As long as your heart’s sincerest desire is spiritual understanding, it does not matter what the question is. Ask, knowing that your God Consciousness will reveal the needed wisdom, and the evidence of that wisdom. Then Listen! The understanding, revelation, and evidence are experienced in the silent listening. “If any man lack wisdom, let him ask of God.”
