I’m Doing My Best But Truth Is Not Working – Why?

Dear Reader,

Have you done the best you know how, spiritually, and things still aren’t working out? Have you been consistent in prayer, faithful in contemplation, and still a dark cloud seems to hang over your life?

Are you wondering why that disease clings despite your realization of its nothingness? Or, are you wondering why the door of opportunity slams in your face every time you step toward the threshold? Reader, are you puzzled as to why, despite all your sincerity, you cannot seem to break free of the limitations of this false sense of humanhood? Maybe other questions, similar to these, are begging for answers.

Since God Is All, you know in your heart that these things should not even seem to be. And in your heart, you know you’ve done the best you know how to do. Still, somehow, it doesn’t seem to be good enough. Reader, be lifted up. Let your heart rise as the morning sun. There is an answer.

In the Holy Bible, James writes, “If any man lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” Beloved, here in our Holy Bible is the answer to what to do, when you don’t know what to do. If you don’t understand why the disease seems to cling despite your best praying, ASK GOD. If you don’t understand why you can’t crawl out from under that rock of debt, despite your clear realization of ever present supply, ASK GOD. If you’re dazed and confused as to why, after all these years, you still seem as human as ever, ASK GOD.

Reader: Go directly to your God Consciousness, and ask any question you desire. As long as your heart’s sincerest desire is spiritual understanding, it does not matter what the question is. Ask, knowing that your God Consciousness will reveal the needed wisdom, and the evidence of that wisdom. Then Listen! The understanding, revelation, and evidence are experienced in the silent listening. “If any man lack wisdom, let him ask of God.”

Pregnancy And The Real Identity

Trying To Get Pregnant

Gina, a new member of our church family, ambled to the pulpit, grabbed the microphone and spoke in soft tones as she fought back the tears. She shared the story of her long struggle to get pregnant. Tests and treatments. More tests, and more treatments … but no baby. After coming to our church for a few weeks, Gina took to heart the teachings of our ministry and got busy with God-focused prayer.

As the microphone shook in her hands, Gina lost the battle. Tears streamed down her smiling face. Then she shared the good news: “I’m four weeks pregnant.”

Of course I was happy for Gina, but I thought to myself, “Why didn’t she tell me she was trying to get pregnant. Perhaps I could have helped.”

Will You Pray For Me?

Years ago, while working as an assistant minister of a church in Baltimore, I also worked part-time in the office of an invitro-fertilization clinic. Invitro-fertilization was often the last resort for women trying to get pregnant when fertility drugs, surgery, and artificial insemination failed. Every day women sauntered into the office with high hopes for a pregnancy miracle. Most left with dashed hopes. I knew there was a better way, but I didn’t yet know the way.

One evening, after a day of working in the “A Baby-By-Any-Means-Necessary Clinic,” I consulted with a woman in my congregation. She told me that she was trying to get pregnant, but couldn’t. Doctors said that all the test results were perfect and there was no physiological reason why she and her husband could not have a baby. Finally, she said, “Rev. Allen, will you pray for me?”

Revelations Of The True Identity

I took the prayer request seriously, and weeks later she ran up and bear-hugged me: “Allen, what did you do? I’m pregnant.”

Of course the Truth is I did nothing. However, in prayer these truths were revealed:

• The identity she was trying to conceive already existed.
• Every identity is an eternal, birthless, deathless, and timeless identity.
• Conception and pregnancy only seem to be necessary because of a belief in time.

From that point on, every time I was called by a woman who was trying to get pregnant, the prayer was always successful.

The Hoped-For Is Already Here

Reader, are you trying to conceive? Stop trying! Instead just know that the identity you desire to bring into the world is already here as an Eternal Identity. Your desire to conceive is merely the signal that the hoped-for is already here.

Better Than Commenting

Call-Me-with-Jordan
You read the story of Tracy Womack’s healing. How did I find out about it? Just like you, the Womack’s subscribe to this blog. They had something to share, and contacted me by email.  We e-mailed back and forth, and it felt like real communication. Had it been necessary, I would have picked up the phone and called Tracy and Stephen.

No, Absolutely Yours does not allow comments, but that does not mean I don’t want to hear what you are thinking. I am open to emails and  phone calls. For me, this works better than constantly checking for comments.

My email address is: allenwhite1@verizon.net

It’s Never Too Late (Healing Testimony Part 2)

Most of you have read the first healing testimony of the Womacks. It was the foundation for my sermon, There Is No Incurable Disease. This is the second part of the story that emphasizes the fact that since disease is not a presence or power, it’s never too late to know what is true.

Allen,

There is another part to the story of my wife I would like to share with you. About 15 years ago she was diagnosed with COPD/emphysema. At that time she bought into the diagnosis completely. Of course her mother had COPD and her identical twin sister had COPD. She has commented several times if she only knew then what she knows today.

She knows all the COPD medicine ads on TV and Doctors continually reminding everyone that COPD is irreversible are just opinions. After her journey with the diagnosed cancer she has commented that it is time to be free of the COPD idea.

She knows and constantly affirms her Soul, Spirit, and Body are not different elements. They are one, and that One is God. She is perfect, whole, and complete.Last week she had chest X-rays and the Doctor compared those X-Rays to the ones taken in August. The Doctor told us what he saw. “Her lungs show a marked improvement from the August X-Ray. Her comment was – “they see what she already knows”.

We have realized – No matter if it’s a perceived condition or idea you have been carrying for a long period time, or something that is sprung on you in an emergency room, knowing “God is All” and “I Am the God that is All” reveals the Truth – We are perfect, whole and complete.

Thank you again for all you do and all you have done for Tracy and me.

From Love

How To Pray Effectively — A No Fail Approach

prayer

There are many books, ministers and lecturers that profess to have the key to effectual prayer, yet none has come forth with a “method” that has been universally satisfactory. None will. Prayer as a state of constant awareness of the Allness of God eternally present is every man’s natural state of awareness, clouded though it may with the mistaken sense of ignorance. Prayer, as a tool to come into this awareness, cannot be taught as a universal method. Each person must come into the Revelation of the Isness in his own way. The reason for this is far beyond the scope and purpose of this writing. However, it is necessary for each one to discover his own way.

The quickest route to this discovery is simply by asking Christ (your Self), “Lord (of my being) teach me to pray.” As always, what is more important here is not the asking but the sitting still and listening for the answer… Guard against the tendency to intellectualize or reason out the answers to your questions.

Want To Be A Better Practitioner — Results Guaranteed

spiritual healing

Practitioners Are Not Healing And What To Do About It

On a Christian Science website, I read a comment complaining that Practitioners of today are no good because they don’t heal. The writer suggested that the higher-ups in the Christian Science movement should get busy and find an effective way to separate the Practitioners who actually “heal” from the Practitioners who merely want to “heal.”

Could the complainer be right? When I was just a puppy in Truth, I called Marie Watts for healing and before an hour passed I was “healed.” I remember calling Eileen Bowden for prayer help and immediately I sprang out of bed, dressed myself, and dashed off to a concert. The healing was instantaneous. There was no waiting days and weeks for a healing.

It seems that today’s Practitioners are better reference librarians than “healers.” Most of them can quote entire books of Joel Goldsmith, Mary Baker Eddy or Marie Watts, and most ask their callers to read related passages from some inspirational book. But, there is no healing.

If you are a Practitioner, or someone who would like to pray more effectively for so-called others, I offer a simple suggestion that is guaranteed to increase the effectiveness of your prayers.

The Simple Suggestion

Practitioner, if you seem to have a longstanding trouble(s), clear it up. Take a look at the list of dis-eases below:
• Financial
• Emotional
• Body
• Social (not sexual)
• Etc.

Rather than continue to endure the dis-ease, clear it up through spiritual discernment. Practitioner, don’t hide under the cloak of denial thinking, “After all, nobody knows that I am suffering from this, so I can just go on ignoring it.” Stop this insanity!

Reader, I guarantee that once you prayerfully address this thing that you have tolerated for all these years – once you get down to prayerful business discerning God’s allness more clearly (clear enough to completely realize the nothingness of your seeming dis-ease) – the effectiveness of your prayers will soar to astounding heights.

Did You Fall For This Lie?

Misguided Advice From A Practitioner

For the theater musician, the tide of success seems to ebb and flow. When she’ll flow, no one knows. At least this is the appearance. My good friend Wesley is a theater musician, and at one time his career was treading water waiting for another high tide of success.

“Wesley,” I said, “why don’t you call a Practitioner to jump-start your career?” He did, and from there things went downhill, backwards on ice! I heard the frustration and confusion in his voice when he told me what the Practitioner said.

The Practitioner told Wesley that he should not be seeking more gigs, and more success. “After all,” said the practitioner. “God doesn’t know anything about pianos, theaters and money. You should instead be seeking to know God.”

Reader, are you scratching your head like I did? Did your mind immediately flash back to the healing miracles of Christ Jesus? Did you say to yourself, “Well Jesus never told the lepers they should be seeking to know God rather than seeking a healing?” And did you say to yourself, “Wait a just minute! Jesus never rebuked the miracle seekers for not seeking God instead?”

Does Money Really Exist?

Many Practitioners erroneously believe that pianos, theaters and money don’t exist, and that God knows nothing of them. Lies and vicious propaganda! Rather than criticize and condemn, let’s take the axe to the thick root of this delusion.

True, God doesn’t know anything about money, pianos and theaters as they are humanly named. Yet, these forms do exist. To the Infinite I Am, the name of these forms is the One Name – I AM.

In the experience of visual illumination, you do see pianos, theaters and dollars. However, you see them as forms of Light – much like you see the rainbow as a form of light. These forms exist, but not as matter.

You Are All

The Practitioner should have told Wesley the Truth. He should have told Wesley that the Infinite I Am is the I AM that he is. This Infinite I AM includes every form within Its infinity. Then the Practitioner should’ve reminded Wesley that there is no separation of time and space between him and any form. He then should have capped it off by saying, “Wesley, you have ALL, because you ARE ALL.”

Are you thinking, reader, “Well what about all that seeking first the kingdom of God business? Jesus did say that, you know?” He did, and there’s no getting around it.

Reader, suppose the story went like this. Instead of calling a Practitioner, Wesley prayed with the sincere desire to know more of God. These same truths would’ve revealed themselves in and as his Consciousness.

However, since Wesley called a Practitioner, it was the Practitioner’s responsibility to tell Wesley the Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but the Truth.

Most Influential Books — You’d Never Guess

Emma_Curtis_Hopkins

Now that the Top-Ten List is completed, I am sharing with you the two books that impacted me the most. As you read the titles, keep in mind I was still a (so-called) teenager when I read the first book.

Don’t go out and buy these books. I am just sharing my back-story with you. I have a hunch that you might get an itch to take a peek at them. Be warned: they are not easy reading. A friend once said he’d rather climb Mt. Everest with giant boulders strapped to his back than read High Mysticism.

Here’s the short list:

  • High Mysticism by Emma Curtis Hopkins
  • Esoteric Philosopy in Spiritual Science by Emma Curtis Hopkins

You Are The Splendor (Top-Ten Books)

mw

This is the last book on our must-reads list. Marie Watts pours her heart into You Are The Splendor. Below are some excerpts:

thumb

Just as a mistake in mathematics calls your attention to the perfect mathematical fact, so it is that any appearance of evil serves to call your attention to some specific good, or God. God is Perfection; thus Perfection is a universal as well as a specific fact. Any appearance of imperfection serves to call your attention to the perfect Principle, which is Perfection. A mistake can seem to be troublesome, or evil, only so long as it is mistaken for a fact. Once your attention is focused upon the perfect fact, the mistake is canceled. It simply vanishes.

[ a poem]
I AM the only One, the All,
I AM the One ‘pon whom I call
when darkness doth appear,
or when I seem to fear
some presence, power, or blight
that could obscure the Light.
I AM the heaven and the earth;
I AM the Life that knows no birth,
no change, no age, no death.
I AM the One, the only MInd,
the One it seemed that I must find,
till I awoke to see
the I AM that is ME.

To recognize that the Christ Consciousness is your Consciousness means to accept the fact that you can see as Jesus saw; you can know as he knew; you can experience as he experienced; and you can be what he was, and is.

Pray Effectively For Others – DeWaters (Top-Ten)

wat

Years ago, a woman named Laura ( a long-time “student” of Lillian DeWaters) sent me nearly a hundred personal letters from Lillian DeWaters plus a hardback book that nearly fit in the palm of my hand. The book was Who Am I? Short and sweet best describes the book. One chapter, however, stands out as an oak among orchids: There Is No Other. Below is most of that chapter.

thumb

Who is Mary? Who is John? Who is James? Who is Martha? Verily, I Am all; all is I. Perfection is all! All is Perfection. The One Selfhood is all; all is the One Selfhood.

Is there any beside Me? Yea, I know not any. There is no other. There is none else.

Therefore, any ignorant Mary, any sick John, and sinful James, any limited Martha, is not present. Thou shalt consider none but Me. Thou shalt believe in no other. Thou shalt consider no other.

For instance, if one believes that he sees someone in ignorance, sickness, sin or limitation, who then needs the help–the “other” or oneself? Oneself. So far as anyone is concerned with a problem, he need consider only his own Consciousness.

If there is but one Selfhood, perfect and complete, let one ask himself, Who then is sick? Who then is ignorant? Who then is sinful or in limitation? And what must the answer be? No one in God’s perfect Selfhood.

How, then, shall one proceed? First–Take all attention from the form or entity named John or Mary. Next–enter into communication with your Self. Ask your-Self questions and your-Self will answer them. For instance–Just what should I be seeing? The Answer will be–Is there anything or anyone to see but the Real and the True? Then you may say, But what about John or Mary? And the Self will answer– I Am all there is of John. I Am all there is of Mary. There is none but Me.

Ever, one’s concern is only with himself–that he function solely as the One, and no other.
